Description	Dawn Summers may have been 'made from Buffy's blood', but there are other aspects required in creating a person. Such as eggs and semen. No one realised that Dawn was technically Buffy's daughter - and not her sister. Which means there is another half out there... A father. Dean Winchester has no idea that some monks stole his DNA to create the vessel to hold the Key or that her mother/sister has been raising her for the past few years. Basic premise of the story is that Dean finds out he has a daughter. Requirements: Buffy/Dean. No slash, except canon (i.e. Willow/Kennedy or similar). No character-bashing. Giles, Xander, Bobby and Ellen - they're just too awesome not to include. Canon up to 'Chosen' - feel free to ignore the comics. I do. Mainly because I haven't read them. Buffy/Faith friendship. The Impala. Buffy can drive - and she drives an SUV or similar. Dean has to make a comment about it being 'soccer momish' or something to that effect. Someone commenting that most of the Slayers are jailbait - most likely to Sam (Dean being automatically off-limits since, as Dawn's 'father', they decide unanimously he belongs to Buffy - only Faith has the confidence or temerity to flirt with him). Suggestions: If you don't want to deal with Dawn as an adult, perhaps something happened to make her her actual age, instead of the age the monks made her. Thus making her born in August or September of 2000. So she would be a young child. If so, she doesn't remember her adult life. Either she remembers things as Buffy's sister up to the age she was when she changed (this could be any time after 'Chosen' - maybe the spell was secured to the Hellmouth and with its destruction, the spell maintaining Dawn's age changes, or someone performed a spell that went wrong) or she remembers another timeline with Buffy as her mother. Buffy takes deaged Dawn into hospital for a check-up - and receives a lot of sarcastic looks and comments on insisting that Dawn is her sister. Buffy moves with young Dawn and does act as though she is her daughter. This could be in Cleveland, or she could be somewhere quieter, but nearby. Perhaps a reststop for Slayers or something. Alternatively, Dawn is canon age (born in 1986, I think, since she is fourteen in 2000) and something happens that means they discover things aren't as they seem - i.e. someone does a DNA test for some reason, perhaps if Dawn has an illness, to check whether it's genetic - which results in some baffling results for the doctors. Bonuses: Both Buffy and Dawn like the Impala. Dean is 'not the first Winchester to christen that car' (in my personal canon, Dean's usually conceived in the fricking thing!). Dean and Buffy bond over raising siblings, before Buffy points out "At least you don't have to worry that Sam will suddenly turn out to be your son." Dean is freaked. One of the Buffy cast knows one of the Supernatural cast completely outside of hunting. I.e. Willow and Ash have chatted online, or Andrew's chatted to him. Hell, maybe Faith ran into Ash at some point given the Boston connection. Maybe Robin drank at Ellen's bar on the way to Sunnydale, or Victor Henriksen is Robin's cousin. Henriksen appears. Whether he's on the Winchesters' side or not is up to you. It would be hilarious if he actually knew about things from the Slayer side of things, but hadn't put it together with the Winchesters' actions - and then he has to cover things up or 'find new evidence'. Buffy and/or Dean complaining that they have a child, but didn't even get to the 'fun' bit of having a child, i.e. conception. Buffy stating that she has never had a child and Dean offering to remedy that. I've seen several fics where Dawn turns out to be Buffy's daughter with various fathers. I don't think I've seen one with Dean as the father. Personally, I think deaging Dawn would be the more fun option - although she can't make the same sarcastic comments about 'Mom' and 'Dad' then, I guess. Certainly it would provide an easier way for the discovery of Dawn's heritage - and Buffy could wonder why, since she was dating him at the time, the monks didn't choose Riley. Perhaps Buffy even finds herself connecting with herself from an alternate reality and receiving memories that would lead to Dawn's real age and such - such as a one-night stand with Dean before she was dating Riley, or similar.
