Review of chapter "Chapter Twenty Six" from TsukiNamida
Review:
Wow! I just discovered this precious jewel today and I zapped right though it! I love it! Though I do wish there were more, end was so sudden and all. And I wish I could've seen the meeting between Dawn and Akito, or Takito as my friend and I like to call him, but overall I love it!

Review:
The end? *blinks* huh. Is it just me, or was that kinda sudden? Maybe I'm too used to constantly reading chapters of your lovely story?
I still don't think Buffy got yelled at enough, but the Summers family bonding was *love*. That was a very simple, but GREAT idea for breaking the curse - well done. Believable, mythologically sound, and in character for Momiji to do it.
Great opener, with Kyo there, and nothing happening. But I'm not sure he'll ever really trust Buffy or Willow - ever. No matter how much he becomes friends with his future wife's bridesmaid (Dawn, that is. 'Cause you know they will get married. And Dawn will so be a bridesmaid, along with Uo and Hana and all the female zodiacs). Loved the little shippy touches. (squee!)
Loved the Scooby family's dark mutterings over what they'd like to do to Akito. Very nice touch that Xander's the one to react to Yuki's comment 'this is the sort of thing he usually does to us'.
You said at Manifest that you'd already had a couple of suggestions for one-shot sequels? Can I take one of Willow and Buffy getting reamed by Giles, a proper date for Momiji and Dawn, and I'd like to know exactly what the Scoobs have in mind for Akito. (this version? I don't feel sorry for AT ALL) I'd also like some Buffy/Dawn/Tohru bonding over losing their mother - I know you said you were uncomfortable delving too deeply into this, but if you're ever at a place where you think you could, I'd like to see it. Or even a Dawn/Kyo scene, where he's wondering over telling Tohru about his previous friendship with Kyoko? Also, a look at Dawn's matchmaking abilities, where Tohru and Kyo are concerned! And I'd like to see Willow and Hana's first meeting - maybe with a Megumi cameo? *piteous look*
Comments from author:
Well, I'm glad you liked it. I know Buffy didn't really get yelled at a whole lot, but you have to remember that Dawn's still pretty injured. Plus, it's not really Tohru's thing to yell at people. I can so see the way Buffy reacted happening, though, she reminds me a bit of a slightly more violent version of myself sometimes, y'know, outcast, short...lol. And when I fight with my sisters it often ends like that ^^.

I'm so happy that you liked my way of breaking the curse. I'm still not 100% sure why it broke in the series, lol, so I thought I'd do my best to find my own reason.

If you take a look, the first story in the offshoots is up now...it alludes to Willow and Saki's first meeting, even if it's not actually about it...I will write the meeting, if I find myself so inspired.

I promise you though, that there will be more in this series, because I love writing it. I have a whole bunch of ideas planned out, about 20 in all, which will be set in 5 different stories, lol. So there'll be a lot going on. Please tell me what you think!

The end? The end?!!!NO!!!! But I guess it has to end, the Sohmas free of the curse and all. I like your take on the curse and the way it could be broken. Would you do ficlet though, like the Kureno and Arisa date or how Dawn introduce Momiji to Giles. It can also be about Kyo/Tohru and Kyo's feeling when he's not bound by the curse anymore. Anyway, I enjoyed every chapter you had written and thank you so much for sharing your story.

The End? Already? *pouts* I was enjoying this so much. I was so hoping that Willow would teach Akito a lesson, or we would at least get to see Dawn confront him again with her memories intact. At least it was a good ending. Kureno gets to be with Arisa, and Kyo with Tohru, and of course Dawnie and Momiji. Such a shame that it's over though. I did really enjoy this story and would love to see more of your work. I also hope you check out my stories when you have time.

Great ending!!!! I hope that there might be a sequel? It was good, and I liked that you kept clear of any huge apocalypses and focused on the people; it kept it more realistic. Anyhoo, great job!

Thanks, I'm so glad you liked it! It's likely that there will be spinoffs, although I'm not sure how long they'll take me to write, it depends if I'm inspired or not for one.

Review of chapter "Chapter Twenty Five" from TaleWeaver
Review:
Dammit, I need to review faster. The others were short, though, so I can be quick.
Tohru's plan - I was actually expecting something more intricate than simply emailing Buffy. But I liked how you brought up her troubles with English, that you mentioned back when Tohru and Dawn first met - continuity rocks!
Also? Buffy's reply was so in-character.
Loved more troubles with the language barrier - and this time I can totally get behind Willow's spell-making; given how many different languages there are around, and how many Giles' research tomes are in, Willow having a translation spell TOTALLY makes sense.
Loved Momiji's nervousness about meeting the family! Also I woobied at him wondering about being the one for the spell - because yeah, from what you've shown, he should wonder whether it's actually LOVE or not - he's only what, sixteen, here? I wouldn't be too confident about being in love at sixteen - eventually, yes, but Momiji and Dawn haven't actually known each other that long or progressed that far in their relationship. I actually think that the reason it works is platonic love as much as anything else.
Now, for this chapter - loved the bit where Momiji wonders 'wtf? why aren't I transforming?' I'm guessing this is part of what you mentioned, about breaking the curse? Nicely done, the way you dropped that in, then completely overshadowed it with what happens at the end of the chapter.
Loved Kyo's rant - SO typical for him to yell at Tohru simply because he's worried. And she knows it, even if she's too shy to think through the implications yet.
LOVED the way Yuki introduces the two of them - very much IC.
And Buffy - can I smack her good and hard, puh-leeze? Dawn in hospital or not, she had ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT to do that, or ask Willow to do that.
First off, Buffy's trespassing on Tohru's territory as a slayer, (and Dawn's already detailed some theories on why this could have been a bad thing for Faith) and blatantly disregarding her own sister Dawn's authority as a Watcher, by not simply getting everyone else out and checking the sitch with Dawn or Tohru in private. Please tell me one of them's going to rip her a new one for this. Then Dawn rats her out to Giles, and HE rips her another one as Head of the Watcher's council. The diplomatic blunder alone warrants it. The Watchers have authority over the Slayers mostly for situations just like this one - and Buffy's shredding that.
Not to mention, she has no idea why Kyo's walking around like this. She could be 'outing' him to his family, wrecking his life and tearing apart his family, for no better reason than she thought something could be hinky. Hell, HE might not know about it, aka Doyle. She has no idea what kind of trauma she could be inflicting on an innocent person!
There are plenty of neutral demon races in the Buffy-verse, like Clem, (and from everything we've seen, the Cat-demon form is absolutely harmless. Previous Cats MAY have attacked people - it's never mentioned if they actually have - but I bet it's more to do with being despised by the whole family than any violent tendencies) Buffy already knows that Kyo isn't part of a clear and present danger to Dawn (or why would he be there with her? Dawn wouldn't waste any time in telling Buffy about a potential threat)
There's also the public safety factor. She's in a HOSPITAL - and she's done the equivalent of leaving Oz's cage door open during the full moon. Does she just think that Willow can handle anything that comes up? What if he's a breed of demon that can't be harmed by magical attacks? There's gotta be a couple. What about another Glory/Ben scenario? Not even Willow could go up against some kind of deity without prep time!
Granted WE know the answers - but Buffy doesn't. This is quite possibly one of the most stupid things she's ever done. (and you're really tapping into some of my feeling about Willow's resurrection of Buffy, too) And given that she already knows that Dawn's going to be fine, she really has no excuses.
And if Buffy makes some comment about how Tohru shouldn't be hanging out with demons - umm, hello? Angel and Spike? Even Clem?
I'm also interested in seeing how Yuki and Momiji react to this. We've seen in the past that no matter how much the Jyuunishi fight among themselves, they will automatically join forces against a threat to any one of them. I'd love to see Yuki defending Kyo, (this is one of the few situations it would be convincing, instead of marysueism), or my shipper heart would love to see Tohru do something extraordinary to defend Kyo. We've seen in the past that she'll do something uncharacteristic to help someone she cares for (shoving Akito to help Yuki on the first day of 2nd year, going after Demon-Kyo when he transformed back in the anime).

On a brighter note, are we still on for tea Friday night? I thought we could meet up at my hotel, get tea, then go to whatever is happening Friday night for Manifest in order to pick up our tickets? Or is it that Ball, that you need tickets for?
Comments from author:
Language Barriers: I’m really glad that you loved these bits, I thought long and hard about them. I didn’t want to keep the language barrier in place the entire time, because for heaven’s sake, if I were Willow I’d have looked up a language spell LONG ago. There are way too many dead languages in Buffyverse for learning all of them to be a viable option, especially since they shipped the Key – who actually has a talent for them – off to Italy first, then to Japan (lol, I’m getting angry with myself here ^^;.)

Momiji: Ohhh yeah, we’re getting to the good stuff now. And yes, I agree with you, the main reason it works isn’t so much romantic love as platonic. Yes, Momiji and Dawn are well on their way, but they haven’t been going out long enough for it to be that serious yet, which is why I added the clause. I may be a complete romantic shipper, but I’m not one to stretch the limits of reality too much!

Transforming: Yeah, that’ll be answered in the next chapter *is mysterious*.

Kyo: Lol, I’m glad you liked his rant. It really felt very true for me when I wrote it, I felt like I really got inside Kyo’s head. It was kinda spooky, lol.

Yuki: I’m glad you liked that. I wanted to show that Yuki and Kyo’s relationship has mellowed and changed…but for all that, they still don’t like one another, lol.

Buffy: Lol, you’ll have to get in line. Lots of people, including myself, are angry at her for this. But it had to be done. It just goes to show how much she still sees Dawn as a little kid, even after all this time. She can’t face up to the fact that yeah, Dawn’s in hospital because she underestimated her first solo Big Bad, but that was her choice to make, and Buffy’s certainly done it enough. The whole idea behind this is to show just how much Dawn could grow up if she were away from her sister and the Scoobies. And Buffy has just undermined that. So hecks yes, Dawn will be having a go at her about it.

As for Tohru…well, you never know. Tohru may or may not do something, considering she’s not really as territorial as other Slayers, it probably wouldn’t be because of that. But she’s certainly likely to be a bit P-O-ed that Miss Buffy Summers has just instigated a curse at her boyfriend-like person, lol. And a Sohma at that. We all know she has a soft spot for them.

Friday: Yes we are so on for it. I also have some info for you about the buses. They apparently link up, so if you go directly to the sun bus counter, you can get the bus to Melbourne, and then the train to Flinder’s St station…which is where the hostel is I think. I’ll check that out, and talk to the others about it when I meet up with them. As for the tickets, I dunno if they’ll still be handing them out that late…I guess we’ll see *grins*. If you like you could sms me when you get into Flinder’s Station, and we could meet you there?

Hello Crossover 2 (Chiba Mamoru, aka Darien Shields from Sailor Moon)! Excellent work as always, a little bit muddled grammar-wise near the end, but still of the good. I'm surprised that the doctor isn't Amy Anderson's (Mizuno Ami's) mom. Extra cross-over points without being ridiculous (I've seen a few multi-crossover fics that are just plain crazy and start to lose cohesiveness). BTW, nice job Buffy and Willow on releasing the Cat-Demon. *smacks them upside their peasy-assed heads*
