Nathaniel is the best dad...perhaps big brother-figure ever! So sweet and caring, and very understanding.

I love Dawn & Nathaniel's interactions. There is so much depth to their relationship so early, but it also wonderfully builds upon each character. I could feel the ups/downs of Dawn's emotions (as well as Nathaniel's) and clearly "see" the mall through her eyes. The stuffed animal section was great--I closed my eyes and could feel my own early memories of revelling in the soft friendliness of that aisle.

The gift for Buffy, and Nathaniel's revelation of his gifts for Nicki, was so poignant and so very very real.

As I read this there is a part of me that hopes Dawn never grows up and or finds a way home because separating her and Nathanial would just be wrong.

I have enjoined your stories taking place in the Dawning Light Universe for some time. I honestly cannot imagine what a teenager turned child would feel, but if I could, I believe that you have captured it exactly. Btw, I love that Dawn wanted to buy Buffy a Christmas present. IF somehow they find one another sometime in the future, I can imagine her giving Buffy the present, plus any others she might buy in the future. Thanks for the great writing. 8)

Oh, and Dawn soo has to introduce Nathaniel to Monty Python! Why do I suddenly see Nathaniel putting his hands over her ears and/or eyes at the slightly suggestive bits?

Oh, so totally loved Dawn and Nathaniel. Loved how Nate didn't get any of Dawn's comments. He soo needs to watch the movie. And why do I see Nathaniel watching "Dracula" with Dawn and Dawn laughing at some of the "scary vampire" stuff. After all, she's seen real vampires. The movie might seem tame to her.

(And can we view another ficlet of babysitting Jean Claude. Can you imagine JC's comments on the "Dracula" movie? And why can I so see Dawn agreeing with him?)

You made me cry, reading about the present for Buffy. I love the Dawning Light series! Can't wait for the next update!

I keep hoping someone from the Buffy 'verse will show up if only to visit. Spike, maybe? Battle of the protective-ness ensues.... plus he's a different type of vamp than they're used to, active during the day, doesn't go into a coma-like near death sleep, just 'sleeps', stuff like that....
and cup was inspired. Anything to annoy the office manager...

I never realized how bad Nathaniel's life was until I read this; he hasn't seen Monty Python, I don't know how I would survive.

Anyway it is nice to have more material in this universe, even if it is only a small bite to stave off the hunger for more chapters.

you honestly should dispense tissues with your stories. I would really need one right now.
