Very nice story!
One minor nit:“I’ve got a brown belt in Judo,” Lois said proudly. “I worked hard for it.” That should be Karate, not Judo.

Another amazing story. I never thought I'd have any interest in a Lois and Clark fic, especially since I've never seen a single episode. Also more marvel than DC... So boy was I blown away to be completely -- compulsively hooked. I've spent way more hours on this computer today than is healthy.
Thanks for a blast.
Was also grateful for the little details... Knights of Byzantium... Forgot about them... Red finger nails in brain pans... eeeuw... And yeuck! But exactly right... And of course Anne Steele... Was Joan... Connect all those little dots why dontcha! heheh. Very sneaky. Poor Olaf. I'm sure you had lots of great L & C details too... Didn't know Lois died in that series... (I saw that in some review here) Was that like died, died, or like temporary died?
Anyhoo... this was Rock-em Sock-em to quote my favorite but language impaired slayer.
Thanks for taking up my day.
Blue.
Comments from author:
There were a couple of episodes in the series where Lois visited an alternate reality. In that reality her alternate self had died, and the Clark Kent of that world was not Superman. INstead he was a henpecked fiance of Lana Lang.
She convinced him to become Superman, but the villain of the piece outed this alternate Superman to the whole world, leaving him without a secret identity, and without a true love (the Lois from the show had to return to her own Clark Kent.)
Thank you for the reviews! It's nice when people review old stories.

I started reading this story before it was finished, then lost track of it. If all the Superman movies, books, and comics were like this it would be the most lucrative franchise on the planet. Your characterization of Lois is amazing. I was impressed by how well you wrote the POV for her. Very nicely done, with impressive scope and detail. Keep up the good work!

Thanks! It's nice to see that people are still reading some of the old stories.

Wow, what a ride. Loved that Lois and Faith, of all people, became friends.
OH, Great idea for a second part...How would the New Kryptonians react to some 1800 slayers crashing their party???
As always, very well thought out. Does Clark ever accept that it is ok to kill a vampire?
And one little tiny quibble. Just before they enter into the stadium, you say that it is a moonless night. Then later in the same chapter, you say that the only had the reflected light of the moon to give them light.

Just catching up to this story.
I am LOVING IT, even if it has icky parts.
I love the following.
"I don't think I'm human anymore," Lois said at last.
"I don't think I ever was," Clark said quietly.

Whoa! So, 'Tempus, Anyone?' was the Lois and Clark episode where Lois died in the Congo, offscreen... Am I right that throughout this fic you're offering glimpses into what horrors that version of Lois faced in her final hours? What she would have died from here if she hadn't been called? Dude! Sweet.
I'm amazed you found the seeds for two highly recommended stories in a single episode :D
Comments from author:
I hadn't thought about it, but you are correct. That makes this fic and Veritas sort of sister stories based out of the same episode.
Thanks for noticing!

Yeah! At first I was worried that this story was getting too dark. Sometimes when BtVS fanfic starts getting dark and angst-y, it ends badly. I can't take sad ending, I'll get too depressed. But I love the ending you gave this fic! Beautiful, and it feels complete. I won't say no to a sequel, but if you want to leave this fic where it is, then that fits too.

Man! I almost missed this. It ended last month? Gee.
I agree with Marcus - the witch on staff is a great idea.
Awesome setup with the flagpole and the fireball, and the inconvenient shield ;)
... Now a spin-off with the counselor for Lois Lane, Clark Kent and the Slayers, might actually be cool :)
Awww... Cheers to the happy couple. I'm glad they're taking it slow :)
Oh, and thanks for another great fic :D

What an immensely satisfying send-off!
I particularly love the element of equality and realism that you introduced into the relationship of Lois and Clark in their first year together, because of their experiences in California with the Supernatural. I particularly get a kick out of Lois having not only the WILL but also the MUSCLE and SKILL to actively 'defend her man' when some low-life cretin with kryptonite thinks they can get to Superman through her.
Great story!
