am very much loving this fic! Also, if it's counting on Xander's past experiences, what about when he was split into two or the swim meet stuff, he would still have stuff like that lying around in him. Plus, he has been hit by Willow's mojo ontop of the cliff, there's also when he was infected with syphillis and also, the first slayer spirit invaded his dreams, you know stuff like that has just gotta be floating around waiting to be used. :D

-Laughing- OK, so I could give Xander more abilities, based on other past experiences, but then he'd be unrealistically powerful. Also, let's try and NOT make him go insane. Can you imagine trying to keep up with all those possible abilities? As it is, Xander's two possessions are the things that stand out the most in my mind as possibilities for abilities. Mostly, I just really, really liked those episodes and watched them more than the others. I won't mention just how much Hyena!Xander's sexiness influenced my decision. Ahem.

It could be worse for Xander. At least he won't have to deal with the Swim Team treatment.

While I would love to give Xander the 'Swim Team treatment', which would be really cool, I see Xander as having the kind of abilities that would help others see him as he truly is: a protector. Xander by nature is highly protective of those he loves, and is a fundamentally simple guy. His core values are basic: if someone threatens him or his own, that threat is done away with. I think that returning the abilities from the Soldier (who is a being designed to protect), and the Hyena (who is pack leader, enforcer, and protector) very conveniently and thoroughly supplement who Xander is. Also, while aquatic abilities would come in handy under certain circumstances, I doubt that such circumstances would happen very often; in contrast, the combat abilities that come from the other abilities would come in handy in pretty much any circumstance imaginable.

So glad that this one is going forwards still. Great ideas and nice to see some different faces in the tale. Looking forward to more. Please!!!!!

Hah-hah! I have to agree with you! I've just always wondered about characters who can change into animals...what if they could turn into their animal bodies, only in a different place? Is that really such a big leap? It's probably senseless, but it is a fun idea. Anyway, I hope it's not overly ridiculous?
