Interesting, and poor willow. Sometimes It isn't abusing power when the result is in saving lives :/

The Crystal intended for the story to be make the decision much less of a gray area—unfortunately, Dawn's exhausted state coupled with maybe a little resentment because Willow never came back led to it being altered. The reason I see it as personal gain is that it wouldn't be using the Power to protect the planet; Willow's friends died, but the planet and humanity were still safe, and everyone who supposedly died in the fight knew what they were getting into, ostensibly.

I will reveal what actually happened in a subsequent fic.
