Review of chapter "Tea and Threats" from banner
Review:
OK, THAT worked. I've never understood the "send a Slayer to protect the Boy Who Lived," either - for one thing, is she now authorized to kill people? Who is going to train her to detect poisons in his food? Is she going to be able to discover that his broom has been sabotaged? Slayers need lots of physical activity and violence - not easy to find in a school. Body Guard is not an unskilled position, and she has no training in human threat assessment or cult psychology. I could go on.
After the Slayer Activation, there were a lot more slayers, but I doubt they EVER has any to spare for personal protection. If they did, they'd be tasked with protecting heads of state.

Review of chapter "Tea and Threats" from Ironbear
Review:
*roflmao!* Good for you. And good for Wesley! ;) Wes is right: the Beast, Aneglus, the Beast's Master, and that "putting out the Sun" thing kinda outweighs Voldemort and his fifty followers - not to mention that a Slayer's not really cut out for a magic war.

Enjoyed the story. This is one of the first Harry Potter/Angel/BtVS crossovers I've really liked.

Review of chapter "Tea and Threats" from purrfus
Review:
Congratulations on the 2007 COA nomination.

I know this is in the Wesley catagory, but the first read through I focused on the way you portrayed Dumbledore as the evil, sneaky, manipulative b*****d that he is.

Then I read it again and was really able to focus on and enjoy Wesley as more than a match for him.
Comments from author:
Hah, yeah. I squealed like a young girl when I saw the COA nomination. (Sad but true.) I know my Dumbledore is a bit strong, and he dominates the story, but Wesley's character has always been somewhat understated. It fit him better, you know?

I'm glad you liked it!

Interesting. I found this story via JediButtercup's rec. I firmly believe that Dumbledore was a manipulative old coot; Imperio might be stretching it, though. I think I'll go have a look at your other stories, now.

Review of chapter "Tea and Threats" from MBelasko
Review:
Great fic, and I totally agree with Wesley's assesment of the situation. Out of curiousity do you think muggles with firepower would do better against the Death Eaters ? Be nice to see a couple followers run into season 4 or 5 Wesley, AK may kill with one hit but so does a shotgun blast against a robe.
Comments from author:
Thanks for the review. I honestly think that the Protego spell, a wizard's basic protection, doesn't work against most corporeal objects, just other spells. As a result, shotgun beats wizard, hands down. Then again, bullets won't do you any good if you've been imperio-ed. It just depends on the muggle's agility and the wizard's stupidity. (They seem to regard muggles in the way we regard small, fluffy puppies: "aww, aren't they *adorable*." I don't think they're aware that puppy has claws, fangs, and nuclear capabilities.)

Review of chapter "Tea and Threats" from arkeus
Review:
Good work :-)

As you said, if the Slayer has no immunity to AK and no magic, she might get rid of a few DE by sheer acrobatics and dodging, but she will do far more good on La or an Hellmouth.

Review of chapter "Tea and Threats" from Starbright
Review:
I really liked this. Wesley (in any season) definitely wouldn't have sent Faith off to England, so I was thrilled to see you have him stare down Dumbledore like that. And not to belabor the point, but there isn't much a Slayer can do against a wizard/witch. What's Buffy/Faith/Angel/Spike supposed to do? Spin-kick a magic spell out of the air? Please, people! And way cool of you to point out that Voldy only has like two dozen minions wreaking evil, lol. :)

Review of chapter "Tea and Threats" from Lucinda
Review:
First, what a nasty, manipulative Dumbledore you've presented. No, that isn't a complaint, just an observation.

Secondly, I must agree with Wesley's analysis - that the Wizarding world's been terrified by one evil wizard and fifty-some followers for thirty years does sound pretty pathetic.

I like this approach to the 'get a Slayer to guard Harry' idea.

Review of chapter "Tea and Threats" from Sandi
Review:
Very true. If the wizards would get off their butts and fight back they wouldn't have the problem. No one wants to get their hands dirty. What Dumbledore did to Harry was criminal.

satisfying read, and I always thought Wesley's mysterious phone conversation 'and you call yourselves wizard's' indicated a knowledge of HP's world.
