It was a very.... involved story. Heavy. Which isn't a bad thing at all, but it was not as easy a read as most fanfic is. But your character voice were very old and very real. Kinda beautiful. And your descriptive passages were all basically emotional sucker punches (which is a good thing). Worth reading, if slow reading. (savoring and all that)

Hello,
This is Polgara. All of 'sita's (krisztina) reviews go to my inbox since her death in May.
She would have been simply over the moon that you reviewed not one, but two of her stories in one day. While thanking you endlessly for your words she would be simultaneously proclaiming her limited talent and that she would one day truly earn her reviews. Her friends never understood why she didn't see how truly talented she was.
Thank you for taking the time to read what she would have called her 'little story' and leaving a review.
Pol

Ok, so I know it sounds silly but the whole time I read this I totally imagined it all as a film noir. Buffy starring as the femme fatale of course. Just the way you wrote how they reacted to each other brought up memories of Casablanca lol. I loved it.

I LOVE this! I was about to read your new Dresden story when I read your reference to your other stories in your A/N and decided to check them out first. I don't know how I missed this before, but it's fantastic. I love the way you write the characters and definitely am inspired by your descriptions. Great job! :)

Oh. My. Gods.
*fans self*
I found this story entirely by accident, hipping and hopping across stories and clicking on author recommendations...I could in no way backtrack the trail that led me to this story, looking for fic to read on my lunch hour today. But I am so VERY damned happy I found it. This was fabulous! Breathtaking. Your writing is very enveloping of the senses. So very little story written in so many words that it feels like you know so much more than was actually told. It completely wrapped up my emotions and carted them away for the duration. Totally captivating.
Thank you.
Now, of course, I have to go and read the rest of your stories and pout because you've not updated in months and worry that you've stopped and won't come back.

Okay. *Wow.* I've read a lot of fics--ones that have made me laugh, cry, and want to throw things. But this... the sheer *emotion* in this is... breathtaking. Absolutely gorgeous; a wonderful read.

That was just...wow...I am completely and utterly amazed at how much emotion and passion was conveyed in that piece. I could literally feel all the emotions and thoughts the two felt. It was so romantic that I got goosebumps. It was truly a work of art. One of the best fanfictions I've read. I hope that you continue writing more to this story in some fashion. Their love is an epic love and that would be a nice thing to continue. :) Keep up the amazing work and have a lovely day.
Smile,

First off, I'm so, so, so very sorry it's taken me so long to review this story. Things have been crazy, and thankfully seemed to have settled again, and I'm trying hard to catch up on everything else I've let slide. One of those things being telling you how marvelous I think your writing is. Your writing is like poetry, the imagery, the emotion...beautiful and haunting. I start reading and soon am swept away into the world you've created. I love the idea of Buffy accidentally wandering into his talk regarding the true origins of the pyramids and having that instant connection. The attraction, which I totally get as Daniel's quite breathtaking, and the understanding. Of any random stranger happening upon Daniel's theories, Buffy would be one of the few to not dismiss him out of hand. To truly understand what it's like to be screaming fire in a burning building only to be thought of as insane. Again loved that spark of instant recognition and attraction, and the attempt to get to know each other better...although the timing sucked like a tornado. Daniel standing her up as he was pulled into the SG world. I loved their meeting up again, so much time has passed, the instant heat still here, both wondering what the other is thinking, feeling. Both having their doubts that the other was, or is, still feeling that lingering heat. And the sexual tension building, slowly boiling to the surface...loved Daniel not backing down. I am hopeful you'll continue to add more to the story, although it does stand beautifully on it's own. I wouldn't mind another story after Buffy gets to the SGC. Again, beautiful use of the language and wonderful imagery.

Very beautiful, very descriptive language, and full of romantic tension. Seriously. You have raised the use of the English language to an art form here.
Unfortunately, I lost all track of the plot for being drowned by the surging tides of emotion coming from both characters, and couldn't even finish reading it. Perhaps I shall read it again sometime when I'm in the mood for love at first sight, pine forever, grand angst, hearts sing as one type fic.
Comments from author:
Hey jedibuttercup!
Thank you so much for your kind review. Although I preferred some of the things you had to say to others ;) I will think about what you’ve said, and try to learn something from all of your feedback.
As I may have mentioned to you before, never having completed my BA, I am not nearly as educated as I'd like to be. I'm also not particularly naturally bright, or gifted when it comes to my favorite hobby. What I am, though, is a hard worker. In this story, my goal was to try not to shy away from producing a satisfying ending. Imho, I reached my goal and I am satisfied with that. It could be, at least I hope it is, a lack of training, experience, and focus which has caused the plot to wander, if indeed it has, rather than some insurmountable mental block. Maybe I’ll work on that next. :D
Perhaps you could help me further, by telling me what you thought the plot was? I thought it was two typically cautious people coming together again, after having fallen in love at first sight, and deciding to take a chance on each other. Is there another plot that I’ve neglected, or inadvertently written? In my mind, Buffy rescuing Jack and preparing to be interviewed by the SGC was secondary--a plausible reason for them to meet again only. But maybe in having fun with my characters and the dialog, I spent too much time on that?
The above being said, romance has always been my genre of choice. To me, the celebration of passion, and yes, even love at first sight, is the most beautiful thing imaginable. I know many people hold romantic fiction in great disdain. *shrugs* Obviously, it's not for everyone. But if at some future date you do feel tempted to listen to a little sincere, if florid, heart song, I hope you’ll think of me and give this another try. :D
Much respect and hugs! sita:)

You know normally, I make notes when reading a fic, you know what I like and dislike, so that when the time comes I have something coherent to say. And boy did that work for this. NOT!
It was like walking into a sunwarmed ocean, the water rising bit by bit, sucking you in with beautiful words and descriptions, this incredible ache just filling you up with every line.
Drifting along on a sea or words, until the tension finally breaks and they finally kiss. This knot of ache just burst in my chest.
This is wonderful and slow and everything that great literature should be.
Comments from author:
Hey feekh!
Do you really? Wow. You are so good to do that. I must be the laziest reader ever. I just print it out, stretch out, and read. Sometimes I can't even be bothered to print it out, I just pull the coffee table in close, lay down on my side on the sofa, and click the down arrow. :D
Though I am profoundly flattered by the association, imho, I don't think this is anything great literture should be. I consider myself to be a baby writer--no not even that--a preemie writer. Don't tell Pol and Ava, because they might bar me from the list ;) but I have so far to go before I am at the level of proficiency of my friends, it's daunting and humbling every single day.
Still, I'm so very excited to hear that you enjoyed this story, and I sincerely hope that I will be able to continue to write stories that please and amuse you. Thank you for telling me, and for telling me in the most poetic language I've ever seen in a review. It truly made my day, quite possibly my whole week.
All the best and big hugs! sita:)
