I thoroughly enjoyed all the stories you've done in this series so far...and hope you do more!

The concept of this series is great; I can see Riley and crew stuck in the middle. Bits that particularly struck my fancy: "What did Giles say?” . . . “Trust me Wills,” Buffy said. “Even you would have been bored by this lecture. By the end even Dawn was starting to fade out.”. This felt so, so true to the characters. I also liked the Dr. Ambrose thing, since I can definitely see Walsh reassigning someone who believed a little too much of the mystical aspect.

HEY! QUIT COPYING ME!

Quite a coincidence aint it, you doing a BTVS/SG-1 story also about Seth and also entitled Jurisdiction...

EDIT:

Yes, but you used the same title I did, which is why I noticed. If you found someone writing a story with the same name and same general topic as your story, within two weeks of your own piece, you would take notice too. Quit whining, I haven't accused you of plagerism. I'm merely less than pleased with the coinciding titles... it's hard to get one's work read when a better known author writes a piece with the same name, fandoms, and twist. Wouldn't you be upset if someone else eclipsed your efforts?

And for the record my story is NOT a stand alone. Its the first in a planned longer series of "not-utterly-cliched ways of having SG-1 meet BtVS"
Comments from author:
I hope you mean this statement as a joke. Otherwise you are accusing me of plagiarism and that really is serious. I work hard to try and bring a somewhat unique take on crossovers and do not appreciate being accused of copying or stealing

As to the specific charge

Yes we have the same title and it’s a Stargate story about the Seth episode.

1 – There at least two other stories on this site alone that re-write the Seth episode:

Gods of Chaos and Chase amongst the Stars

Both of them were posted before either of our stories were posted. So I guess we’re stealing from those authors. Or more likely ‘Seth’ makes a good crossover point for BtVS and SG because it’s set on Earth and there’s a natural reason for the Slayers to get involved.

2 – The Title

Again there are other stories on this site that have Jurisdiction for a title (do a search). Second I picked the title because it fits the situation. Riley and Sam are faced with an area of overlapping Jurisdiction between the Council and the SGC and have sort their way through the dilemma.

3 – I did not read your story prior to posting my own. Having read it now there are significant differences in the situations. In your story the Scoobies are not even involved where as in mine they discover Seth first. In yours SG-1 is still involved in taking down Seth where as in mine SG-1 is sidelined. Your story is a standalone where as mine is part of the larger series. There are other differences but that’s all I need for now.

Please do NOT EVER, even as a joke, accuse me or anyone else of copying or stealing an idea.

It is NOT funny.

I love this series... but I still believe you should have made it one story. A *long* one :) I can't track it this way. Oh well.

Both sides have their secrets. I thought the Council's reaction was appropriately measured. Slipping your SG5 and the slayers in fitted well.

Not really. Buffy and CO. would have never left any fuctioning weapons for the military to get their hands on behind. Willow's spell would've either rendered them totally inert or fused their internal working componets ala the Next Gen transporter trick. By the time the SGC realized the weapons were basically duds, the Council would've been gone.

Remember, the New Council would be a lot more devious and underhaned in their dealings than the SGC would ever be because the Council's world view would've affected by their past dealings with both demons and humans who couldn't be be trusted whatsoever.

Quite frankly, there's no way Sam and Reiley would agree to pull what they pulled on them, because they know what Buffy and her friends have been through, and what the pricce would be for doing so. They simiply aren't that stupid.

Just read the whole series, really like it. So many xovers have all the Scoobies instantly let in on the SGC program, nice to see that classified actually means something for once.

I seem to have missed some of the earlier stories - interesting series, and a good take on slayer / Stargate crossovers.

Good chapter. Liked the ending. Though it's too bad that the Pentagon or President don't want to inform the Council about the Stargate program.

“They believe the weapons are inert,” Dr. Ambrose said. “I saw Ms Rosenberg perform a spell that would drain away any magical energy that empowered the weapons.”

Oh come on. You *SERIOUSLY THINK* Buffy,Faith and especially Willow couldn't tell/sense the difference between *MAGICALLY-POWERED* and *NON-MAGICALLY* powered *WEAPONS* within a few moments?

The only SG1 did in this story was to piss off the NEW Council *BIG TIME*. As for Riley and Sam, well they've pretty much destroyed any trust Buffy and the others may of had left in them. Playing people who may think of you as a friend for fools is going is definitely going to get you on their bad side.

Nice characterizations. I like how you weave BTVS and SGC together without telling the Slayers about aliens. Quite creative.

Great game of keep-a-way.

A little snarky goes a long way.

Looking forward to the next installment.
