It is nice. If the characters were four other people.
These are not "Go gently into that good night" types.
It needs the sense that they had tried everything and all the options had been exhausted. In that case they would be resigned, (somewhat) but I don't get the feeling from this story that all options of survival had been tried. I can think of more things to try and I'm not Dean, Faith, Sam, or Dawn.
I've seen the movie three times and read the novelization and the end where the people being picked up in the helicopters can see the flicker flame signals from lighters and candles in the windows of the skyscrapers that indicate that thousands survived in New York is the part I remember best.

Thanks for the honest review! That first bit is what I was going for, but apparently I didn't get it across. Which is fine, we are all allowed to have a fic or so that we didn't get right. :) I'm impressed by your level of obsession with this movie. I did the same with Buffy, lol. Thanks for the review, and hopefully I'll get the next one better if I write another fic about this movie and these characters.

I must admit... I do not agree with the characterizations. I don't think this is how it would play out.

Although individually each might nurture a certain death wish I think those four as a collective group looking out for one another would fight death kicking and screaming.

Faith would have a lighter, the boys and Dawn probably have matches to light candles for spells, if necessary they would set alight a whole building even if it happened to be the White House to keep warm.
