As to how the various 'father figures' react:

Daniel is becoming involved with Xander after a large part of his development is a done deal and most of that what Xander has grown into is admirable. He'll be guilty that he wasn't able to be more a parent earlier, reflexively protective and accepting of Xander's sexuality within very broad parameters.

John has that Marine discipline thing going but the way he has raised his sons he should be grateful that
Dean is capable of any kind of relationship at all, and a relationship with Xander fits neatly into the demon hunting lifestyle that his family follows.

Xander's choice of Dean as a partner is probably a non-issued for Giles, but a long and detailed version of the 'Shovel Talk' will be administered to Dean.

Sorry, but I'm rewriting this as "What Now?" on this site. Thank you for the review and I will take your advice into advisement when I get to that chapter in the rewrite.

I would imagine that Giles and Daniel would be fine with the news :) and I think John may surprise everyone by being very accepting :) Is it going to be Angel/Spike?

I don't think that John will like it. He's a marine and the way he raised his sons with such strict discipline shows that he will most likely be uncomfortable with the relationship. He'll probably try to accept it but it would still bother him a lot. I don't think that he would get angry or anything like that b/c it get the impression that he likes Xander. I think that he will support it b/c he's not really known to support his son's decisions when they conflict with what he thinks is right, example Sam deciding to go to college.

Giles will probably have nothing bad to say about the relationship but he most likely will go Ripper on Dean, to warn him against hurting his adopted son. I like the fact that you will introduce Ethan and Giles as a couple, it will also insure that Giles is more accepting.

Daniel's reaction will be similar to Giles. He's a linguist and an anthropologist, he has to be open-minded in order to study different cultures and their interactions. I think he will be supportive, i doubt he's going to give the whole thing much thought since he's going to be focused on his relationship with Xander and on helping him with the vampire thing. I don't see him as the kind of father that would leave his son in a dangerous situation without at least trying to help as much as he can. He'll probably bring SG1 to Sunnydale, probably b/c he thinks that they should get more help.

I think they all should react with understanding. daniel is a historian and history hasn't just had male/female relationships. Giles is so a closest Bi man.... The other father John well he's seen some freaky stuff i would expect this wouldn't even be a bleep on the weirdo meter for him!

John would kill a lot things then pretends he doesn't knwo anything about it.

Giles would be Oh Dear then accept it but with death threats.

Daniel... no clue

I am for the Giles/Ethan relationship; I always got that feeling from the show anyway. I think Daniel won't really have an opinion yet since he just found out that Xander is his son. I think he will want to get to know both boys a bit before making a decision. Giles will polish his glasses, but I think he will then go Ripper and "warn" Dean about his treatment of Xander his "son". John will NOT like it! Either from being a former Marine, or just wanting his boys to be "normal". I love how you made Daniel Xander's dad!!! I hope you bring in SG1 some time in the near future. I have a question though; what season is Stargate happening during this story? I love this story and the more you write the better it gets!!

According to SG1 wikipedia, SG1 happened parallel with actual dates which puts Season 1 as happening 97-98. This is also when Season 2 of Buffy happens so I guess, Season 1 for Stargate, but it won't come into it much while Xander is in high school since he's kind of Sunnydale-bound until Graduation.

I don't see John having a very calm reaction. He is so forcefull and I think he would see that kind of relationship in a bad light because he is a former marine. But he would also be able to be resoned with in the in to see what is realy important. Giles shouldn't have a problem if he is also having a slash relationship. If he acts against it I would have it in the light that his relationship with ethan drug his heart to hell and back. Daniel I don't see having a problem he would just be suportive and trying to protect them. love kizuna

Daniel: Supportive, understanding, but maybe a bit reserved. The whole dad thing is kinda new.

Giles: Supportive, but also concerned,'cause Ethan and Dean are different characters, he might fear that Dean's a not-so-good (don't want to write bad) influence on Xander. Well, it kinda depends on how you want to write the Giles/Ethan relationship.

John: He's going to have a hard time accepting that his boy's dating Xander. He's an ex-marine, which doesn't mean all marines are homophobes, but well, I think John would see it as a weakness. But he'd come around in the end...or maybe not considering the whole Sam&Stanford thing.*scratches head* See, this is why I stick to graphics, I suck at words.

Ok Willow totally needs to give the shovel talk to Dean. Giles would be cool with Dean and Xander's relationship. Daniel is pretty open minded so he would be ok with it. John would be the one that might have a problem with his son being gay. I love this fic and can't wait for more!!

First of all, yeah Giles/Ethan! They totally belong together.
Second of all, the reactions I would like to see are more based on how I would like them to react then what they would probably react like. Did that sentence make any sense?

Daniel: Since I am a firm believer that Daniel and Jack are like peanut butter and jelly, I would like to see Daniel have a more non-reaction than anything else, but still be supportive. Because, y'know, he doesn't really know Xander, despite biological relations, so his attitude would be 'Who am I to judge?' Because Daniel's just awesome that way.
So I like Daniel. Bite me.

Giles: Since you're planning to have a Giles/Ethan pairing, I don't think it would make a lot of sense to have Giles have a negative reaction, don't you think? So I guess he would react kinda like Daniel, but with a little "I hope you know what you're doing" kind of attitude, y'know?

Last but not least,

John Winchester: This guy is an ex-Marine. Dude, you really cannot expect him to have a positive reaction to the relationship. Also, he kicked Sam out because Sam wanted to go to Stanford. No matter what John's reasoning is, I don't think that he would support Dean in his relationship with Xander after the Marines. That's all I'm saying.

By the way, love the story so far!!!!! I'm glad you went with Daniel as his father instead of Jack. Adds a little variety, y'know? I hope you have the opportunity to update soon!

Giles: Should be protective over Xander but supportive. Gives Xander the 'Talk'. (Maybe a few threats to Dean)

John Winchester: Protective over Dean and unsupportive. He's a military guy. Try to break them up and Dean *finally* stands up for what he wants [Xander]. Sets Dean up in compromising positions so Xander will break up with Dean.

Daniel: Same as Giles but a little more cautious after hearing about Dean and how he's a ladies man.

Cool, I don't think I've ever seen a "Daniel is Xander's dad" crossover before. Usually he's related to Jack! Maybe he could still be related to Jack? I heard that Xander mentions an "uncle Jack" in the series somewhere, but I missed a couple seasons (barring a few eps like the amnesia spell and the dance demon eps), so it could just be lies.

I'm just loving this fic so much! I just got into SPN and love the idea of Dean/Xander! And then you make a brilliant story even better by adding the SG1 with Dr.Jackson as Xander's real father. I am eagerly awaiting to see where you take this story as you bring together these three terrific fandoms. *claps* more, more, more!
