My Goodness

Amazing. You have quite excelled yourself. Brilliant, superb, spiffing etc.

Keep up the good work. I must say, far more cheerful than another varient on the Jeeves and Wooster theme where they were both vampires.

I've been meaning to read this for some time now. And now that I (finally!) have I wish I hadn't taken so long. It's truly masterful. You've got Bertie and Jeeves perfectly in voice and the integration of Georgie's archaeological work into her watcher duties is brilliant. I loved Bertie's encounters with the vampires, trying to be polite and move on. Then there's the masterplot, to kill or recruit Jeeves. Best part, I thought though, was Bertie saying he should have had the privelege of offing Aunt Agatha. Don't suppose he'd inherit now would he ?

Anyway, brilliantly done - I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Comments from author:
Thank you.

No, the Worplesdon inheritance but not the title will go to the awful daughter. However, in his life of Jeeves C. Northcote Parkinson says that Bertie inherits his Uncle George's title when he dies and then marries (his first her second) Bobbie Wickham, whose red hair and fiery temprament have both faded a bit in middle age. (And aren't I a sad Wodehouse fanboy for knowing that!) Happy Christmas.

Absolutely top-hole! A bally good yarn, what?

Brilliant pastiche. It's a shame that I won't be voting for it in the TtH Awards because it has the misfortune to be in the same category as two even more brilliant fics. If it had been in the 'Television' category (and there would have been some justification for that as there have been several televised versions most recently 'Jeeves and Wooster' starring Steven Fry and Hugh Laurie) it would have had my vote for sure.
Comments from author:
I thank you for your esteem (while grinding my teeth at your no-doubt principled decision) but television?

'No good will come of this invention: the word is half Latin and half Greek!'

Great story! You make me want to go and read the books to see if they are half as good as the story you wrote.

Can we hope for other stories along these same lines? Pretty please.

Great story. It has been years since I read any of the Jeeves stories but you have their voices right on. Bertie being a complete idiot and Jeeves to the rescue. Your blending in of the slayer-verse was seamless and masterful. Thank you very much for sharing this story.

Review:
Vogonguard, this is truly a masterpiece! You have achieved a pitch-perfect imitation of PG Wodehouse's style, and the integration of the Buffyverse elements is flawless. That Jeeves would have been involved with the Watcher's Council seems so obvious in hindsight. And as for the ending -

“What about Aunt Agatha?”
”I very much regret, sir, that I have despatched her Ladyship.”
”With one of those stake thingummies?”
”No, sir. A decapitating blow with the dinner gong, sir.”

Perfection! Couldn't have happened to a nicer Aunt ...

You decapitated Aunt Agatha with a dinner gong. Bravo! Bravo I say! Splendid, top hole and indeed spiffing! You may have guessed I rather like this fic. An inspired crossover; we need more of this sort of thing. KUTGW

I cheered, because you got Wooster's voice so well. Threw my arms in the air and cheered. Good job!

Review:
I don't often say this, but I'm sitting here on a slow day at work, reading this story, and silently (so as not to confuse and alarm the few co-workers not already gone to a conference or on holiday) laughing my self light-headed!

Excellent work on the Wooster-isms and Jeeves-ness, and I particularly derived immense satisfaction from Bertram's insistence that the Count do the ACCEPTED THING and lay out the complete scope of his fiendish plan, rather than just 'cut to the neck' in that uncivilized manner. Alas, that poor Bertie was denied the pleasure of severing Aunt Agatha's head, but -- as Jeeves so sapiently notes -- everyone must make sacrifices in times of national and/or supernatural emergency.

Excellent!

I admit I only know Jeeves and Wooster from the television series, but imagining Hugh Laurie getting into supernatural escapades is damned amusing. I'm so pleased you thought of it, and even more pleased at your perfect tone. Congratulations on a job well done!

I love you so much for this. If anyone could've made the "throw hummus at the mayor" plan work, it'd have been Jeeves...

Anyway, tone's fantastic.

Review:
It's upsetting that this fic won't get the kudos it deserves, simply because P.G. Wodehouse wrote his books more than five minutes ago.

Harumph. The youth of today. Wouldn't know literature if it up and bit them.
