i do have a question though- if harry's buffys brother and dawn is technically made from her DNA doesnt that make him het brother as well.
if so why doesnt she know him?

Ok, I haven't gone into it much yet, since I'm going to do the whole 'what the hell is going on?' thing in a few chapters, but I'll gloss over a few of the main points.

After the first week or so, Buffy wasn't in the mental institution anymore (the interlude chapter). However, the workers at the institution, her parents, etc, still believed her to be there because of the PTB doing their thing.

Once Buffy comes back from England (parts of this time will be in other interludes), she got out of the institute. She never told anyone about any of it happening. So, if Dawn "grew up" with Buffy, she would've never known about Harry. After all, Buffy doesn't know that she's related to Harry until the whole England/institute thing.

So, technically speaking, while Dawn is as much Harry's little sister as she is Buffy's, she doesn't know anything about Harry.

LOL! The messenger has a sense of humor! I'm enjoying the fic so far. I did find it kind of weird though, that after the fall out with everyone, Buffy still felt comfortable staying with the people who betrayed her. And vice versa.

x'cuse my slowness, but i was a lil confused by the recent turn of events....in chp 4 Spike said that Harry was Buffy's brother, but in chp that doesn't sound like the case....did i miss something? or do i just need to be patient and wait for things to unfold?

anyway....thanks so much for coming back to this story....it has such great potential!

The interlude chapter was going into how Harry and Buffy first met. At that point neither one knew of their relation to the other.

In the present, none of the Scoobies know that Buffy and Harry are related. Spike knows, and he blurted it out to Faith. So, now she knows.

WHEN I WAS WATCHING THE EPISODE I SAW IT DIFFERENTLY IN MY HEAD. I SAW IT LIKE YOU WROTE IT. WITH FAITH GOING WITH SPIKE AND NOT STAYING WITH THE TRAITORS. TELLING GILES AND THE REST OFF AND ROLLIN OUT WITH SPIKE TO HAVE BUFFYS BACK. .... YOU ARE AWESOME.

Hmm. Interesting. I tend not to like being dropped into the middle of a story, so I'll reserve judgement on the whole 'Buffy is Harry's younger sister thing' for now. It's very well-written though, and I'm enjoying it.
