Review:
this is a great story and i can't wait for the next one.

good luck on the plot of the next story. it will be interesting to see what you can do since it could also have some of the Atlantis story in it since this story is the begining of the series

hope you get it out soon

Good sequel :) I'm very much looking forward to the next part! I hope that by now you've figured out the emotional scale for it (some relationship stuff?) and it's already on the way, but just in case not, I wish your muses lots of good inspiration :)
Comments from author:
Well I decided after having spent 1½ years with Buffy Carter that I needed a break so I wrote some crap and then decided to write a Buffy/X-Men crossover of which I've posted the first 4 chapters already. When that is done I'll go back to Buffy Carter and I believe I have figured out the emotional content that I felt I needed so the only impediment right now is my wish to write something else first.

Given that writing is one of three hobbies I don't get too much done all the time so it might be a while yet.

*applause* Nicely handled reunion story. I wouldn't mind seeing the fic-version of Faith and her experiences in the Hell dimension *hint hint*
Comments from author:
I have been getting a lot of request to get the Scoobies back in touch with Buffy, but I am doubting that will happen but lets see.

Review:
I love you're work, but did you really had to be an Angel fan?
Please write some more fiction, only challenge yourself for a bit of Spuffy. I mean they have so much more drama mixed with passion than Buffy ever had with Angel.
And I hate to break it, but it still seems a bit creepy that 200 something year old vampire in the body of a thirty year old - was lusting after sixteen year old kid. Especially after seeing her as a cheerleader sucking on a lollipop. You should react like you would if Spike was doing the same for Dawn. Which he wouldn't.
I adore the work I do, but there is too many good Bangel authors, but so little great Spuffy writers.
Waiting for continued story's...
Comments from author:
Now first of all thank you for the review I am glad you liked what I've written.

As for your Angel / Spike thing, yes I think Angel is a better man than Spike honestly. He is more real to me than Spike is. Spike the demon tried to rape Buffy and then when rejected got tricked into getting a soul. Buffy herself never had a relationship with William the Bloody Awful Poet, who might have been worthy of her, but seemed to have too many issues to really click with her. I think as an old schooler should there only be a vampire in Buffy's life I would rather see her with Angel than with Spike (even if your creepy comment is true, but then Spike tried to kill and later rape Buffy at one point which permanently disqualified him to me).

But to be honest if I had any say over the last year or so of Buffy they should have had Xander be her love interest if he had been more honest with her about his past actions. That was what made sense to me as a natural progression.

I can't stress enough how much I HATE the Buffy/Spike ship in the show that should have stopped at friendship as it did in Season five (frankly the ever present need to constantly have a main character in love with or dating someone is something I rebel against, I like romance but having lived a life I know that a life is constantly filled with romance all the time at every corner). Season six is almost unwatchable to me today and frankly there is nothing that turns me faster from a story than its dedication to that ship (in fact any story written with the express purpose of satisfying some romantic ship and just that is doomed to never be read by me).

Review:
I think the ORI thing was pretty sad over all. Sort of like the Yuzon Vong storyline in the star wars books. Just not right.
Actually I think your third story should be on how the Gouald are finally and completely beaten.
You don't have to worry about stories for a next season so you can end it all.

What you could have is some of the baddies from Buffy's orignal Earth offer the losing Gouald a shot in their world since the Slayers have pretty much beaten them down. So the last of the Goald join the last of the demons on Earth for one last big battle and Buffy and the SG crew come over to help. How about that?
Comments from author:
First of all thanks for reviewing and for trying to give me your good ideas.

I totally agree with you on both the Ori and the Vong (Wrong in my mind) in the SW books. However I am developing something else. I will however not be doing the other thing that you suggested. Not because it is a really bad idea. It is just not what I intend this story to be about. A mixed universe story has even less incentive for me as the basic tenet of this story (this one not all the others I am looking at) is that it is about Buffy's adventures in the SG universe. So please understand I won't be going in that direction because its a bad idea, it is just not what I want to do.

What I am trying right now is to do a version of the Ori that are a) making sense to me, b) not to be defeated by various Ancient Deus ex Machina devices, c) sensible and clever. In fact the Goa'uld were de-facto defeated by the Replicators and in Bring on the Fire they will only be features as the bitches being hunted into extinction by the Tok'ra and the Free Jaffa (with Ba'al leading their last remnants and trying many really clever schemes). I don't have it cracked just yet and really I am not trying that hard as I am on a creative break from the Buffy Carter series to write on other stuff some of which might be showing up here soonish (I am looking at either a NCIS or a X-Men crossover with the X-Men crossover being the most likely at this point).

Review:
Well I have to say, it was quite a ride. And read. I thoroughly enjoyed both stories and will be extremely sad if you don't find the emotional plot needed to start the third part to this series. This series is simply to good and well written to leave it as it is. My fingers will be crossed that you will one day write more to this series. Anyhow, I just wanted to say I loved the story and I'm sad it's over. :)
Comments from author:
I am glad you liked it. I can say anything definite about anything at this point, mostly because I want to try and write a story in an original universe with original characters instead of fanfiction for a while. That wish is however really old so I might suddenly get started on Bring on the Fire, which I can say that I have started outlining. And I can also say I've been working on some other Buffy x-over stuff, but so far nothing is of sufficient value to even have my test readers report back what they think of it, which I am certain is a bad sign.

I liked the follow up story to Starry Mirror pretty much as I liked the first stoy, and I am hoping that the inspiration for the next one comes to you because I'd really really really like to see the story continue.

Really.

Well I can tell you that I've started outlining Bring on the Fire and it is looking good. Still working on hundreds of small ideas and I need to figure out many big things yet, but at least I have started.

Review:
Beautifully written! I wonder if you might want to try having Buffy visit her old home with some of the SGC and maybe bring Giles and Faith back permanently to the SGC. You opened a door for Giles when you wrote about how tired he seemed. Perhaps he is ill and needs to be blended with a Tok'ra? Since Faith is not really an active part of the slayerverse anymore and I think there could be a place for her in the SGC or even maybe Jaffa... Perhaps a focus on the old friends in a new environment might be a better story than anything focused on the Ori... Perhaps it could even be set post season 10, post Ori... Although that would make Giles another few years older... but that might make his blending even more desirable...

Then again, you could have the Watcher's and slayers in the slayerverse discover their gate... That would be a reason for them to be in touch...

Or the government could discover it and balls it up just as much as they did with the initiative...

Now that Buffy has her much fuller identity in the gateverse, I think it could be interesting to have some but not all of the friends from the slayerverse show up permanently or semi-regularly. Just a thought.

Thanks anyway for a great story. It was a very good coda to the first story..

Blue

P.S. I really hate the replicators but you did good with them. I think that wraith and Buffy might not be a good mix... they're too much like demons... and Buffy really doesn't need that kind of soul sucking darkness anymore.
Comments from author:
First of all thanks. You seem quite passionate about my story and have a lot of good ideas.

I have gotten a lot of request for more permanent guests coming over to my Buffy Carter-verse. I doubt I will do it (all about avoiding handwaveium the rare element an author can only use a little of before a story breaks down), but I think I will in respect to your ideas reevaluate the concept. I am pretty sure I won't be using Faith. For all that she is a lovely character in the case of her and Buffy together that wouldn't work to well in this series. Faith is very much the dark reflection of Buffy in the series and like many things dangerous it has a certain mystique and attraction to people (one of the reasons Faith is an appealing character to write), but in my series Buffy is no longer that exalted hero that Faith was the reflection off. Also even with Buffy as a guide in a new universe Faith really has no reason to come to her.

Giles is another one who could go and yeah a Tok'ra blending would be a way to save him (and yes I intended to show that albeit he wasn't clearly telling it, he was going to die soon and just wanted to see his Slayer safe before going away), but I again foresee that in Buffy's new universe his role as a father figure is taken many times over by all the males of SG-1.

So what about other Scoobies. Willow would not belong for all that she is cool and geeky fun to write. Her magic focus would keep her back as well. Xander again is mired in my mind the need to be the White Knight even without Buffy there. After a decade as a leader he really is the Nick Fury of the Scoobies (Nick Fury is a Marvel Comics reference). Then there is the vampires and I really can't have them come over because honestly their dark romantic natures are not what this series would ever need. So to me that just leaves Dawn and there is the rub, she is fun to write and an excellent view point to use, but coming over to this series my main fear is finding a role for her that would not be a repeat of Dawn's whiny past and the weird passive aggressive relationship between the two sisters. So really I feel like I have painted my story into a corner crossover wise and I am not sure I mind.

However there is one light I can offer. What about parallel Xanders', Giles' and Willows?

Now as for the next enemies / setting of Buffy's story I am still in doubt. I have discarded Atlantis especially I just can't find it in me to base my story of that series. I am all for using original series instead of spinoffs (both in the Buffyverse and in Stargate not in Star Trek but that's a different matter).

I have my own serious doubts about the Ori so instead of the version and story told in the Seasons 9 and 10 I'll tell my own version with their own back story and a SG-1 plotline less focused on finding and using Ancient devices (it seemed to me that too much of late stage SG-1 was all about finding the next Ancient device in the seemingly endless line up and getting to use it at the last moment to save their asses). I want to build on the Ori but also out of a nagging sense of need to do so. I started this series after watching the season finale of season 9 Camelot on DVD and combined ideas from that season with my wish to write a Buffy/family crossover that did not include Buffy discarding her old history.

Wow. Great sequel. I can't wait for the next one although I've always preferred the Wraith story to the Ori story. Oh well. Maybe you could write Buffy in Atlantis after the next one?
Comments from author:
Well I dislike the Wraith / Atlantis story more than I do the Ori plotline so don't expect that of me. However I am currently trying to come up with a better version of the Ori that might be more interesting as opponents than the one shown in Season 9 and 10 of the Stargate SG-1 show. A tall order but I am trying

Review:
This has been such a great story! I'm glad Buffy decided to stay and that her friends were accepting of it happening. I look forward to learning more about the ship, I'd love to know what's up with the nanites in her blood and what they do, I can't remember just how old Buffy is now, but I'd eventually love to see just who winds up being her "one" in this world.

I look forward to reading the next part once you work through the plot!

Comments from author:
Thanks for the review. Buffy in this story would be slightly over 18.

As training for the romance I intend for Bring on the Fire I've decided to write a few other stories with romantic moments to see how I'd best work it. As they're all crossovers they might get posted here if I decide to let them come off my harddrive.

Wow, another truely amazing fic. The emotional depth and character dynamics development that you poured into this story was astounding, true to the original characters, and all around struck a chord that could resonate with your readers. Your resolution to the delimma Buffy faced was excellently and elegantly done, and I applaud your decision to wait to write the next story when you feel you are ready, however long that will be. Thank you so much for writing such incredible stories and sharing them with the rest of us. I am definately looking forward to your next story, whatever genre it takes form in.

Thanks for the review. As of right now I am on a semi hiaitus however I have been playing around with story ideas and might even have one for another world instead of the Stargate verse. I will be returning to continue when my muse decides to give me more than just a few scenes for the next one.
