I haven't checked these stories in so long! I really liked this; Buffy living a regular life, the most popular waitress at an old Vietnam Soldier's bar. That's just great.

I can't wait until Lunar's sequal comes out. This series and Jennifer's multiple Buffy/Lord of the Rings series are my favorite, I think.

i have to go along with Charityfades and be forgiving of you as well....i have been longing almost desparately for post-Lunar stories....but this was indeed a lovely holiday gift....very riveting...and your details are amazing as ever...the portrait you paint of Buffy is just so deep and expansive...i love it about the emotionless, empty eyes but how she still reads so very human and real, unlike Edward who doesn't care to....until he develops the Ted persona, but for him it is a persona and for Buffy it's just more to the depth of her....yeah she's a killer and you can see it in the deadly grace and energy the immenates from her....but she has compassion, enough compassion to not be dead inside the way Edward is

you are most excellent, as always, and though i know you write in other xovers i LOVE your Buffy/Anita ones the best.....thank you for coming back....and i'm REALLY hoping it won't be until next fall that we get more from you for this series!!!!!!

Oh this is very, very good. It was good all the way through but that end was beyond amazing, because I can just see that Edward would be really jealous that there was Buffy and he hadn't had any part in creating her.

I like the 2d person point of view - gives a pretty interesting air to the story. The bar owner's point of view had me humming Bruce Springsteen (which is a complement). Excellent story.

On post Lunar, I've been thinking about the were-thing. This is a random plot bunny - and I know you have stuff already plotted out, but I wonder about the issue of how the weres are excluded from 'normal' humans. I also wonder how the Slayer and the Kitty will interact. The Slayer is a sort of 'beast' like the weres have (as you've clearly established in Lunar). However, the Slayer's version of 'shape-shifting' is a permanent change to the potential's physical body (presumably). Of course, weres also have significant changes in their 'human' form - particularly the fast healing - but there is no 'alternate form' for the slayer.

It would be interesting, I think, to see the slayer change the way the beast expresses itself. Instead of a shapeshift, either a slow continuing or a single non-increasing shift in B's permanent form. Claws, eyes, etc. It parallels some of Micah's problems with the eyes; and I've always thought it would be interesting to see how things changed if Buffy was forced more definitively into the 'demon/monster' category herself. Anyway, just thinking of some interesting alternatives to her actually becoming a shapeshifter.

just so you know...i forgive you. i forgive you for this not being a post-lunar piece, no matter how much i've been fiending for it. because this was just lovely; so simple, so pure. exactly the kind of ficlet i'd want in this series. wonderful, wonderful stuff, as always.
