Nice, this certainly filled in some gaps from chapter one. If this is after Acathla, are they in their Summer break now? While trying to avoid thinking about everything that's happened, Xander and Dawn could spend the summer cramming for their placement tests.

Locally, High School requires a specified number of credits for certain types of classes before graduation. Since he usually surprises us, maybe Xander has picked up more than he knows due to all the Scooby researching. If he has actually learned stuff like History, Astronomy, Comparative Religions, Ancient History, Olde English, Latin, Russian, French, and other languages due to research, it may help boost his level. He could actually exceed the necessary placements. [Note - Sociology, Astronomy, and Psychology were offered "Sciences" in my High School, and for Histories we had classes available like Comparative Religions, Ancient History, and others offered.] If he did pass more placements than he thinks and actually test out of school, he could still decide to attend for a last year to watch over Dawn and maybe fill in some weaker spots from his testing. His Sciences may not have to be the always referenced Chemistry or Biology - especially in St. Louis where after some cramming, he may test out of stuff like Preternatural Science, etc.

If for some reason he's still held to a lower level, maybe home schooling would be an option? Most of the Pack & Pard don't seem to have much to do during the day, and it would be really hard to be a year to two older than everyone else in your class grade. On top of that, I have a hard time imaging Xander and Dawn being able to relate to kids their own ages who aren't immersed in the darker Supernatural world like they've been. They may be the same physical ages, but even one mental year difference is HUGE at that age.

[My Connecticut high school had a huge number of gym options too - some of the less common choices we had available were archery, golf, tennis, swimming, yoga, fencing, and water polo. Being from SoCal, Xander may be able to claim knowledge of some of that too and test out of needing 'gym'.]

in the show before season four he didn't seem to read the books much and remeber the demons and vamps they know aren't the ones in St. Louis so what he knows may not apply to the ones you need to know. However honors in one does not mean you test out. He may test into honors like Dawn probably will. No one in the house can homeshcool the ulfric might be able to he is a certified magic sholol teacher, you need a degree to to do that and have it be really valid and not thought of as cult world, at least in Maryland where I live. ANyone cna but they prefer the one doing it have a college degree adn be able to teach. Remus might be able to and possibly Micah if he can. Damian can teach history but they don't want them isolated. I will consider it though

I don't really think that the school was preparing the students to die. But, they could have been. I always thought that the town tried to ignore the problem.
Well, think about it, in SunnyDale everyone could get away with murder as long as they did not talk about it. Maybe, the people of SunnyDale liked it that way.
They did not have to vote for mayor for a long time. They did not have to think too much about :employment(death rate high=high need for employment) ,schooling(death rate high=lots of room from new students), and real estate(high death rate=lower housing cost).

and that is waht I eman by undcaring system adn that St. Luois will be both a blessing and a curse beucae if Xander tests below his age group (Becuase he dones't have Willow any more and he wnas't a great student) he may not be a senior there, he may be a junior or sophomore

I know but I'm actually not aiming for a six thousand page story and actually the books uulaly run two or three days.

Looking pretty good so far. Good to see the details on what's been happening, and I do hope we get to see Oz and Jordy later. Willow bothers me, though. I know the characters had a lot happening at the time, but she performs a major spell (the resouling) that honestly should have been out of her league at the time, and nobody worries that her personality changed afterwards? One of the nastier possibilities that I could see for that situation....she wasn't actually able to summon Angel's soul back....so her spell used the closest one she had on hand. Hers. I hope you might address this in the future? At the least, after the characters get settled in and have a chance to actually think again? I look forward to seeing more of this story.

or she was posessed by the gypsy adn seh won't let go but eihter way, ANgel's soul is his, Ehtna fixed that idiotic clause when they got him back
