Review of chapter "(Epilogue) A Lesson Unlearned (Apocalypse Now)" from
DeacBlueReview:
Gotta say, this was well done. No grammar or spelling errors egregious enough to throw the reader out of the space, well paced plot, voices done right. The only thing that sticks out is that Tara has always identified as lesbian, and as far as all canon has to say on the subject, is not the least bit bi. With that caveat, which it being an AU will cover, an excellent fic.

It is a very good story you have written and I hope you one day will get inspired to write more Buffy the Vampire Slayer crossovers involving the Harry Potter universe.

My God. That is just heartbreaking. Oh Severus, poor Severus. You made me cry with this ending. At the same time you made me happy. Happy that someone else would mourn Tara's death. Happy that someone else loved Tara. Happy that someone else really got to know her. Really understood her. Conversely, you made me happy because Tara understood and appreciated Snape like no one else. She saw the real him and loved him. So yeah, sad and tragic but yet happy too. Bittersweet is the best word to describe this story. It was well written and I loved it. Thank you for sharing it with us and kudos on your excellent use of emotions in a story.

OMG! That ending just about killed me. Great job! I'm just going to imagine that Tara's ghost came to be with Severus and they are now "living" their "happily ever after" though lol. Again, great job, I truly enjoyed it! :)

Nicely done. I was afraid for a moment there, you would put Tara and Snape together, but you resisted the temptation and IMHO did the right thing. Excellent job of staying in the canon and weaving the story into the Whedonverse quite believably. Actually gives a plausible explanation for the scene in BtVS when Tara comes to WIllow's room to make up (not that it needed explaining, but makes the scene fit very nicely with the ending of your story).
I liked the characters and the interplay between the Scoobies and the Potter crew. I think you developed Tara very well and also captured Dawn really nicely.
Good job!

[gasps in shock] You still killed her off, you fiend! How horribly marvelous of you! Staying within canon, not softening the blow or compromising the story for the sake of the happy ending. I really enjoyed this story, thank you so much for writing it. Can't wait for the sequel!

Tara lays the smackdown on Doc! Glad he's gone once and for all, hadn't expected him to make an appearance. Liked how you made her react, v. normal for Tara, IMO. I'm not sure that Dumbledore would have only had 3 people go to rescue an abducted student, but this seemed to work. Still enjoying the delicacy with which you write Tara.

I like how sensitively you handled their first clinch, and Tara's realization of what she felt for Severus, and the parallel between this situation and the other one with her, Willow, and Oz. I also like that you didn't descend into an orgy of purple prose in describing it all-- it was cleanly written, not busy and overwrought. Well done.

Review of story "And Everything In Between" from Anonymous Reviewer
Review:
Ooo, I liked this chapter... I know you're prolly tired of hearing me yap on about this, but I really like the subtle and natural way you're developing the characters and their relationships. Your portrayal of Tara is so soft and gentle, just like the woman herself, that there's no suspension of disbelief needed to buy into it.
"I read Willow’s letter and the first thought I had was ‘I need to find Professor Snape.’ My first thought should have been about her. It wasn’t.”
This is lovely, and a very accurate and telling portrayal of how love can sort of creep up on us.
"All she wanted to do was take the letter to Snape and force him to break it down for her and explain why she was feeling all these foreign emotions. Unfortunately, the rational side of Tara told her that it wasn’t Snape’s problem to solve. Only she could figure out what her heart was telling her."
An understandable, realistic, and very human representation of Tara's inner conflict-- what she *wants* to do, and what she knows she *should* do-- it shows her as vulnerable, but also reveals her strength. Instead of giving in to her weaker impulses, she perserveres and does what needs to be done instead of indulging.
A wonderuflly textured rendering of a character that's way more complex than most writers bother to explore. Thanks :)
