I like how with the Dursley name not being used, that they're barking up the wrong family tree trying to figure out who Gwen knows in the Wizarding World. I can't wait to find out what happens next. This is looking to be very fun, and liked how things are going for Gwen, and here's to Harry and Hermione being able to spend time together somehow.

An interesting beginning for a story - and I admit to being curious how Harry and Hermione have fared in the past eleven or so years.

A minor nitpick for chapter 2 - Vernon & Petunia Dursley's house had four bedrooms, not three. 1 - Vernon & Petunia's Room. 2 - the Guest Room, generally used by Vernon's sister Marge. 3- Dudley's Bedroom 4 - Dudley's Second Bedroom, where he kept all his old/broken toys. Harry was in the cupboard under the stairs until his first Hogwarts letter, and he was then moved - in spite of Dudley's protests - into Dudley's second bedroom.

Which tells me that a) the Durlsey's were quite well off, financially and b) they were extremely obnoxious people.

I'd forgotten about the guest room. As for the cupboard/second bedroom - well, after all, Harry was telling a very simplified version of the story.

And if anyone I knew kept a kid in a cupboard while having a guest room, I'd have called the authorities.

So the wand was made the day Harry was born? At least, that's what seems to be implied . . .

Or some other date that Hermione felt significant. Not necessarily Harry's birthday. For all we know it could be Hermione's birthday. Or Dumbledore's death. Or the day Voldemort was reincarnated in GOF... etc. You get the idea.

You don't have all of the chapters of this story written already by any chance...do you???

No. I had the story written through mid-chapter 8 prior to starting posting it, that's all. And that doesn't even get her to King's Cross.

Actually Ollivander was wrong about the mother's side - he assumed because of the name. That's Dudley's daughter.

And Harry and Hermione may very well be in touch with one another, just that there wasn't really reason (until Hermione met Gwen) for either of them to think anything was up that would affect the other. And since they met Hermione hasn't had the chance to contact Harry (it's only the next day...)

I like that even though she doesn't know about his background with the wizarding world she is protective of her "uncle harry".

"Right hand? Oh, the right hand isn't doing anything. Why do you ask, left hand?"

Interesting Oc. I like that Harry shows up only once or so a year, like he wants to have contact with Dudley's daughter, but is almost afraid to get too close.

Yeah; I figured it was either that, or simply that he's busy (with what we don't know) and that's the only time their schedules mesh (without pulling Gwen out of school, etc.)

This fic is quite delightful so far. I like your Gwen, and the idea of Dudley's daughter at Hogwarts is deliciously ironic.

This story contains an extraordinary amount of win. I'm looking forward to seeing how Harry and Hermione are involved with each other (I can only assume that the key being attached to the letter is a hint in this direcion?).

The key and the letter weren't attached; I meant for it to read as they were delivered on the same day, but not together.

Bet Hermione's better at teaching Potions than Snape was . . .
