An excellent reflection on the meaning of faith in the case of one particular person, as well as in the face of the larger narrative of the SG universe. Nice work!

This was quite lovely. On some level I knew, but hadn't really thought about it until you mentioned, the bit about Sam and the difference between being at the SGC always trying to convince the folks in charge about the eight impossible things that had happened today before breakfast...rather than being in Atlantis, where it took disturbingly little convincing.

Lorne's perspective is well done and it made me smile when he got into musings about faith. Things unseen indeed. I found myself wanting to hug him and remind him we are only promised that He notes each sparrow's fall - not that he stops it. The more I think about it, the ever-present craziness of Pegasus and the infinite possibilities they run into all the time does make a very strong argument for an intended path and that no matter how far they stray - there always seems to be a way to get back to where they should have been. ~Ves

I really enjoyed this story and especially love that Lorne has such faith in the people with whom he serves. I particularly liked this line "His time on SG-11 had been just another job; a slightly exotic one, perhaps, but once the interplanetary commute was taken out of the equation, not much to get excited about." For a Marine with combat experience, I can very well imagine that would be the case. Thanks for sharing this. :-)

Great story! Major Lorne is my favorite character in Atlantis and it's so rare to read anything about him.
