Great story! The plot was developed nicely, Xander's character was...believable (in the BtVS universe), especially in his role of Jack of all Trades. But the best thing about this was the reactions the two slayers had after having worked with him.

Might I be so immature as to beg and plead for you to see about making this into a series? There aren't that many stories about Post-Council Xander that are this well written.

The problem with rumors is that you don't know which ones to believe. He was powerless and not much use in a fight. He singlehandedly saved the world. He forgave horrible attacks on him. He held grudges for years. He was the heart of the Council. He was only good for fixing windows. He quit the Council when he got fed up with the bullshit. He was fired for incompetence.

Nice dig at the conflicting and bizarre ways Xander gets portrayed in the fandom. The scene at the bar was equally brilliant for the same reasons. How many stories are there out there with hyena!Xander or soldier!Xander? I like your human and bluffing Xander so much better.

The only thing that made me blink was Dawn's "Now, go please your woman sexually,” - but then I realised she was over-exposed by Anya's babysitting. :-)
And I think her comparison of Xander with Angel was a little crual. Hilarious of course, and spot on - but crual. :-D

I agree with the others, reading more about the rumors floating around him in the Councill Hallways. Or just from the other scoobies.
In fact, the way you had Megan discribe Faith's Fanatic training methods, I'd like to see a fic where a bubbly Buffy comes to visit (not recognized because she is rumored to be an absendminded cold bitch), and picks a random SIT to be trained to take Faith down in X lessons. (Ok, maybe a too detailed request, but I really like to read more fics from this series)

I'd be a little disturbed by phoukabro's Xander fetish if his stories weren't so FREAKIN' AWESOME! This story has a superb balance of action and drama, and the POV switches are clear and help the story progress nicely. The dialogue is what really makes the story (see quote above). I could see where the story was going from the get-go, but the ride was great nonetheless.

Really like this fic, send your brother my compliments.

i loved 'oh the places he goes' and this has the makings of a similar opportunity for multiple adventures, with a different cant. Definitely wouldn't mind the continuing thread of locking wits with Robin (can you say Oedipus complex) Wood.
