I know *grins* Trust me when I say there's more to it than what it may seem. :) and I'm going to jump right into that in the next chapter.

DOn't know who I feel more sorry for, Sam or Dean. Can Dean fight it off or can Sam find a way to get it out of him?

An interesting concept and it's a different take on what could happen to Sam when Dean bites the big one so nicely done. My only nitpick is that Ruby *really* didn't sound like Ruby. Her quips were off and the dialogue between her and Dean seemed forced. You have a fantastic grasp of Dean and Sam's internal struggle was nicely played out but it I felt like you have an extreme dislike for the character of Ruby and it showed in your work.

The way I see it Ruby's a character who you're initially not supposed to like (and frankly I don't have a complete grasp on her) although my view on her has changed some since I first started this. Right now, however, not enough is known about her, though we were given a peek into her origins in Witch Hunt, I still have the mentality that her being a demon makes her motives suspect no matter how sympathetic she may become. Also, there hasn't been enough Dean/Ruby interaction in the series for me to really grasp how they would truly react to each other. My view will probably change as Kripke explores the character, but for the purposes of chapter 1 she and Dean don't like each other and I wanted to reflect that in the way they treated each other. If Dean didn't have the whole dead-in-a-year thing hanging over his head, I would have made him a bigger ass towards Ruby. As for Sam's view and attitude, after several months of no results from her end on finding a way out of the contract, I don't expect him to like her too much and she's an easy target for his anger even though she really has been researching Dean's contract.

Anyway, I hope that mass of yapping explained the Ruby write. I haven't decided on whether I'll include Ruby in later chapters, but if I do, her behavior will more than likely be adapted to the situation.

It's been forever since I read a plain Supernatural fic but I clicked on this and before I could go back I couldn't stop reading, just wow.

This is an amazing take on the characters and a fresh and beautiful take on the deal Dean made the way it effects Sammy. I really really love this story, it is so well written and had me laughing and crying at once. You are an amazing writer.

There is only two chapters so far but they are just the right length and pack a hard punch. Once again great job and I hope you contintue to write in this.
