Review of chapter "Chapter 3: For the Defense..." from TweedWizz
Review:
Inventive idea.

But after that, one of the worse fics I've ever read. I'd suggest counselling because if you can get that virulent to characters who don't exist, while ignoring for example Ethan's many flaws (great character but lousy human being), your grip on reality might be a little loose.

Yes, evil Xander decides to lie to Buffy to stop Angelus (the vampire he stood up to when he was going to saunter into her hospital room, remember that).

Xander saved the world with his lie. When did the 'hawt' Ethan do that?

Live with it.
Comments from author:
If you don't like it, don't read it.

But, by the same token making Xander Harris a god or Willow a Fey princess is just as much AU, Non canon and OOC as my fics are. I don't say they're the wrst I've ever read, just that they are not my cup of tea and I don't read them.

I never sid he was good. and they have all done crappy things it's just they never get held accountable so I did a fic where what i think should have happened did. My opinion, my story, my idea, my pleasure writing.

Review:
Ok, I got half way through this chapter and had to shut the window down. I liked the premise of the story, it's very inventive. I even loved who you brought in to judge the Scoobies and it was very creative as to why you chose them as Representatives. It was just when I got to the part where Angel started to have his say that I literally pushed my laptop away. It read so full of hate and spite to me, that it made my heart hurt for the characters and I had to walk away. Maybe if I could see them in the light you do I could continue reading this but I just can't.

I'm sorry I couldn't finish this because like I stated earlier, I love the idea and it's very creative I just disagree with your characterization. You believe your way and I'll believe mine. That's why it's called fanfiction.
Comments from author:
I'll be editing that post. part four was correcting sem of it part three i was...not having a good night when i wrote. that's why I added aprt four the same night, when I relaized what i'd done. I jsut need to edit it and that iwll take a day or so becuase i need ot resay who actually did speak.

Review of chapter "Chapter 5: Xander Questions the King" from xanderfan
Review:
This is unraveling nicely. I like the explanations in this chapter it makes the earlier chapters easier to understand. I was wondering what was going to happen to Tara, if she's going to get some help too. I can't wait to see the scene where Willow gets told why she's bound and see how she reacts. I love this and can't wait to read more.
Comments from author:
She'll get help. and I figured ARdeth woudl eb the one to explain, he's the normal human, like Xander.

Review:
What an interesting concept you have created. Can't wait to see how Angel and Cordelia fit into this hypergolic mixture. Your W/A is that Willow/Angel or Willow/Anya? Willow will have a hard time with this being bound. Will she ever get another chance, or will something else happen to her? Yes, I know I have to wait to find out. Sigh.
Comments from author:
W/A is Wesley/Angel as for Willow? I'm no sure. I know Fate has to review in a month or so and if it is undone it will be limited until she learns to do things poperly and with respect. no skipping steps, no stealing anything like ingredients, no changing the spells or ingredients and no more selfish spells. She learns the rules and what is and is not permissable and she follows them at all times.

Cordy, Wes, and Faith will be arriving in the next part, at the end as the next part deals with Giles and Ethan

Review:
I didn't say it before, but I do like seeing The Big Red Cheese used. He is an under-appreciated super hero. Though I don't think Billy would be at all quick to show his secret identity to anyone. He lost his girlfriend because he refused to do so once.
Comments from author:
Yes but right now he didn't have an option. He needed BUffy to understand she's not the only one who has destiny. I was almsot thinking of a pairing between them. A reason he can grow a little more.

Review:
(not trying to be negative here)

And yet magic chooses the person for good or evil. People have no right to bind someone's powers other than their own selfesh interest. I think your council are being self righteous pricks. As for the memories so what if he got them from the halloween spell. They were his, your great council are a bunch of thieves for taking them. I can understand them wanting him to build on them or actually get training. But to steal something that is not yours is wrong.

Take a look at the Buffy comics when the elements/fates saved Willow. They had more right to judge her and acted to save her. The will be done spell was a mistake. Everyone makes them now and then. As for Gile's training Willow in magic, it was never really offered. So really his bad not hers. Besides if you have talent something and someone wants to go painfully slow it's human nature to jump ahead. To read ahead, and skip a few chapters. You might as well have Willow shoot Ardeth in the back of the head. You just crushed a girl's life because I have no idea. You give that prick Ethan a pass who is rather evil and malicious because he had a bad home life. Let's see Willow's parent's neglected her. You know what forget it, you're not going to change our thoughts based on a review. So happy writing.
Comments from author:
You won't change mine, eihter. I was told not to swear at you all adn I deleted the curse words fomr the reviews but you're allwoed ot sewar at me? That's real fair. and I AM a witch. I know the rede and she broke it.

Point of fact? I never read the comics. ANd this is not set ins that so called season 8. It's seaosn 4. and I am more realsitic about what the balance of magic would demand, accident or not, she still harmed and the spell was selfish to begin with. And the 'She's a kid' doesn't fly.

And since when does a natural talent entitle you to steal from someone?

and if she ahd bonthered to elarn how to cast a decent circle that spell woudl ahve worked.

If everyone excusese everything bad Xander did beucase of a crappy home life I figure the same can apply to Ethan...or is it that only the heroes get passes in your world?

Not to sound negative, as you siad, BUt your comments sound like you're upset that i don't like your favorite character. not a review, a flame. So, I will take that flame and use it to roast marshmallows.

Happy reading.

Review:
Hm, nice flow.

But :) Thought Xander will be a little bit more "pissed" about dressing down from Angelus - i accept that he had few lows but ... i think his dislike of Angelus would manifest in much more expressive way ... just my few cents.

On the other hand - nice dialog with "King" kudos for that.
Comments from author:
well, at the time there wer epeople wih really big swords adn Angel was speaking for them. bakchanded or not. glad you're enjoynig though

Review:
Very nice.

You explained some of the reasoning for various actions and you've really cleaned up the spelling problems of earlier chapters.

I'm encouraged by the improvement and I do apologize. I certainly didn't mean to seem like I was picking on you in my reviews, with the transcripts. I simply wanted to correct a fallacy in your interprtation.

I agree there are all sorts of options and interpretations open for fic writers. It's just the more you diverge from Cannon the more you have to lay the groundwork for the divergence in the story and not necessarily in the reviews.
Comments from author:
I apologize for yelling, too. I had explained it in five other reviews that it was AU after the start of four. I need time in the fic to explain everything going on. Each part explains a little more. Giles and Ethan will explain more of what went on back then, I think. because Dawn will be curious and Dawn always seems to be with GIles.

hmm, i ahd a thought to add and I can't remeber it.

Glad you enjoyed this one.

Oh! What made Fate angry was the spells Willow did on her friends. that's why he was so cold

I love how the story is flowing! I'm also tracking your other stories and I'm glad that you're putting such a wicked cool spin on everything.

I'm glad your showing that Xander has issues, and I loved Marvel's talk with Buffy.

Will you be showing Giles and Ethan next? or even Willow?

I understand why she was bound... will Ardeth help Tara too? or is this after Tara was killed?

*hugs* you write the best stories!!!
Comments from author:
This is season 4 AU. tara is not dead and yes Ardeth will help her. Giles and Ethan are likely the next part.

I don't know how Willow feels about being bound and I don't know if i can write it without making her sound petulent and childish.

Ardeth is the one who can help work through Xander's issues I figure because he's the kind of guy Xander wanted to be: Heroic, strong, brave, respected, a leader....

Which other stories are you tracking?

Review of chapter "Chapter 4: Buffy Reflects and Makes a Friend" from JasonBarnett
Review:
Well, I watch Most Evil on Discovery Channel and I've heard some of the worst people ever had pretty lousy childhoods. It doesn't make me sympathetic to them. Especially considering we've got pretty lousy people right next to him trying their best.

I've always felt Willow's arrogance was necessary for her to have any kind of positive opinion of herself. Constantly overlooked and disrespected, her flaws are obsessed over to the point of paranoia, while her good points are expected and rarely praised.

On the subject of Anita Blake in the Buffyverse I have seen the whole step outside the veil and the world is revealed bit before. It's never done well and fails to account for things like Buffy's from LA, and Faith's from Boston.
Comments from author:
ah, that. just label it AU and remebr that the movie which the show is based on, came out BEFORE vamps were legal. say it happened after she moved to Sunnydale Faith? that one i can't expain which is why i usually lable the fics AU. I never said when I cross them it's canon. Ever. I jsut use canon events and add the anita verse to it.

But if you excuse Xander for a bad childhood the same has to apply to Ethan. Double standards are so passe. We dont know waht Ethan could have been if he had a good one.

Review:
"I beg your pardon, GIles did say HE got the Gang together, He did it for fun, He did a lot. as for what you call fanon? I do beg yuor aprdon but since I tried towrite by canon adn got screamed at for pointing out the canonical flaws, excuse the hell out of for using fanon to do part of as tory since no one likes the canon flaws the brats ahd."

Actually, Giles said that he rebelled, he didn't want to be a Watcher, so he left home and fell in with the wrong crowd, and that was where he met Ethan and the others. Maybe it's just me, but the way he said it implies that the gang was already together, and that he then joined up. It is perfectly possible that he then became the one they all tuned to, but we don't know because it has never been stated.
Now I don't know about people screaming at you, but nearly every complaint I've seen so far is with how far from canon this story is. The rest are with how you are setting up the crossovers, grammar, ect.
Comments from author:
oddly because the only thing not canon is the thing about Xander lying which I honestly thought was. I can't watch the ep right now, maybe later tonight, and the scremaing happens whenever I don't worship willow or Xander. I dn't doubt you all but I like to check for myself. Everything else is open to interpretation or is canon

Review:
I like the fact that Buffy is being reflective and isn't being stubborn about the whole thing. The fact that she's thinking about the accusations made against her is a good thing towards actually being able to make the changes that the Council is probably going to require that she make.
I was wondering why no one from the wizard world is on the Council. I figured at least one person would be there to represent their type of magic or something like that.
I like this and hope that you continue updating as fast as you are.
Comments from author:
Uhm, Remus Lupin was there. he stood for Werewolves but he's also a wizard.
More when i get it together in my head.

Please research your facts.

The episode is Revelations in Season 3 that you are supposedly relying on

Here is the "Closest" it comes to saying Xander lied.
(This is in the library)

Xander: I don't need an excuse. I think lots of dead people actually
constitutes a reason.

Buffy: Right. This is all nobility. This has nothing to do with
jealousy.

Xander gives her a haughty grin, but is interrupted before he can
continue.

Cordelia: Hello? Miss Not-Over-Yourself-Yet?

Buffy: (shakes her head in warning) Don't you start with me.

Cordelia looks to Giles for support.

Willow: (upset) Giles, no one's doing the 'I' statements!

Giles: That's enough! Everybody. Now, Buffy knows our concerns, and her
actions, however ill-advised, can be understood. (Cordelia shakes her
head) Our... priority right now is to retrieve the Glove of Myhnegon and
try to destroy it. Now, all of you, back to classes.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

At no point did he get accused of lying. trhe closest that happened (and it didn't occur) is the Season 7 Episode "Selfless"

XANDER (stands) No, of course not. You know, if there's a mass-murdering demon that you're, oh, say, boning, then it's all gray area.

BUFFY Spike was harmless. He was helping.

XANDER He had no choice.

BUFFY And Anya did! She chose to become a demon. Twice.

XANDER You have no idea what she's going through.

BUFFY (stands) I don't care what she's going through!

XANDER No, of course not. You think we haven't seen all this before? The part where you just cut us all out. Just step away from everything human and act like you're the law. If you knew what I felt -

BUFFY I killed Angel! Do you even remember that? I would have given up everything I had to be with - I loved him more than I will ever love anything in this life. And I put a sword through his heart because I had to.

WILLOW And that all worked out OK.

BUFFY Do you remember cheering me on? Both of you. Do you remember giving me Willow's message: Kick his ass.

WILLOW I never said that -

XANDER This is different -

BUFFY It is always different! It's always complicated. And at some point, someone has to draw the line, and that is always going to be me. You get down on me for cutting myself off, but in the end the slayer is always cut off. There's no mystical guidebook. No all-knowing council. Human rules don't apply. There's only me. I am the law.

XANDER There has to be another way.

BUFFY Then please find it.

Xander takes his coat and leaves. Buffy goes to the tool chest and grabs a sword. She looks at Willow, wanting her to follow, but Willow doesn't move.

WILLOW I can't. I'm sorry.

Buffy leaves the house, sword in hand.

Leaving this behind because i am tired of arguing about something that is incidental, this fic is no more improbable than Xander being the son of Ares or Strife or Cupid, or being some genius or GI Joe wannabe or whathaveyou or Willow being a Dark Court Princess and allowed OT sleep with a celibate guard of the morrigan. Get off my back. I don't knock your improbable fics about your favorite characters, leave off mine which actually makes some semblance of sense to someone with a decent imagination and a creative mind.

That particular quote comes from the seventh season episode "Selfless".

This was the episode where Anya went back to being a Vengence Demon.

Buffy: I killed Angel! (There's a pause.) Do you even remember that? I would have given up everything I had to be with— I loved him more than I will ever love anything in this life. And I put a sword through his heart because I had to.
Willow: And that all worked out okay.
Buffy: Do you remember cheering me on? Both of you! Do you remember giving me Willow's message — "Kick his ass"?
Willow (indignant): I never said that—
Xander: This is different—
