I was enjoying the fic for the first couple chapters, but then it turned to over glorifying Xander, bringing in too many other characters with super duper powers, and major Willow-bashing. I thought the first chapter was great though. Thanks for sharing.

Uhm, I didn't glorify him, I stated he earned Ardeth's resect. Willow was an abusie manipulative little snot from season one on, she did steal Giles' books and she did lie and cheat. Sorry if fics that point that out upset people but it is the truth.

And if I wanted to bash her, I wold have just had her be stupid enough to run at someone. The little brat never respected anything. Sorry if pointing that out bothers peole but it is true.

I am a witch, I know how it works and she never did anything the way it should have been done by anyone that knew a thing about what they were doing.

And I only added one other character: Aquaman.

I did not read the comic nor see most of season seven, mostly the episode where Willow told Buffy she did not tell her to Kick Angelus' ass. (Which, to my way of thinking, says they do know Xander lied). SO unless someone can give me a really good reason to use the comics and all. That won't be appearing here.

Well we enjoy them when they aren't one-shots, too.

Maybe Xander discovering Willow's lack of 'connections' will help him not depend on her or Buffy and make it easier for him to disconnect his actions from their approval. So many times having Buffy make the decisions or Willow 'fix' something led to greater or prolonged danger. If Xander feels more independent from the girls, will he strategically take care of threats as they arise?

he hasn't been since he got back. They expect the same person who left and he's not. Am Shere and the army of Anubis were life changing events and Ardeth showed him other ways to be.

Ardeth is coming in the enxt par. To teach him more stuff and because he needs a vacation adn they think the hellmouth is a slower pace. more demons, less danger from them, though.

I'm quite enjoying this, especially that Xander has a true friend finally. Most impressed by the changes to the enjoining spell; and quite speaking that Willow brought no one into it. Poor Tara, I hope she gets swept into Xander's new world to find a better love.

Not sure who for Tara, BUffy's brother will show up at some point. Maybe a Medjai for Tara if Ardeth needs to send for something.

That is a bit sad for Willow. WHo is the boy with the trident? How will they react to learning Xander's fought with the Medjai?

I don't know how they'll deal. Giles already suspects, SPike guessed, but for BUffy anyone who can fight better than her is to be jealous of or pushed away. She did it wiht Faith and Kendra, saying she didn't like being the Slayer but when a new Slyaer came in she got jealous.

Around season four Willow started loving power more than anything. 'Look what i can do' Oz got worried about it, Buffy adn Xander, and she ignored them.

Ardeth and Arthur will both show in the next part.

Probably and AC is likley already in Sunnydale. what happens to dawn affects him, too. He'll show up likley after Ardeth does. Course the wetter he gets the stronger he gets so he's got a wicked gut punch on him if he comes out of the water after a minion of Glory that's threatening Buffy. Or one of the knights.

indeed she does. Not exactly blood, I don't think, yet. maybe though if it's ARthur's father tht was human Hank may be it. he and BUffy are the same age though so he has a link with her. When she needs him, he's there.

GREAAAAAT story. I take it the blond guy who likes to swim is THE MAN FROM ATLANTIS. if so he should be able to help Xander get a better understanding of his swim team possession.

Nuh-uh...Aquaman. Arthur Curry. Still he can help him. Said in the notes Smallville and comics..Aquaman, he's buffys sort of brohter. It's confusing, but originally Arthur was abadoned as a baby. My thought was Hank and Joyce looked after him until hank got bored with him. He shows up when Buffy needs him becusae of what he can actually do with all water based life. That and he's a powerful telepath but he and Buffy have a connection ebcuase they were about the same age so there is a mind link there.

My next idea is to relate Xander to either Dr. Bey as son (Ardeth's Uncle) Xander was raised in Sunnydale so one member of the family would be safe

The other he's Rick's little brother and RIck gets custody after Giles reports his parents.

Both ideas put him there during the Mummy movie

No that was between three and four, this is during four. Giles sent him there to show him he trsuts him. like he's saying "I value you"
