JaredDrakeReview:
Very good story so far. I'm really enjoying this. One thing though - KEEP IT SIMPLE. The main feature of the character of Tony Stark is how human he is. A genius of highest caliber, yes, but still human. Xander is becoming too superhuman in my opinion. I like the whole thing about him having the same power as Forge. Give him the alteran gene or something, but keep him human. The main attraction here is the armor and his newly found intelligence. He isn't some physically superhuman character - at least I like to think he isn't. Take a cue from the story "Xander Mercenary" on this site. That character is shown to be completely human but with technology that helps him bypass this.
Basically, keep him human. Don't turn him into a male-slayer with mutant powers. TECHNOLOGY. That's his power. Keep it simple.
Update soon.
Comments from author:
actually, he is STILL somewhat "human".....according to some folks; ever since the possessions, spells, etc forced on him in canon - he is classified as "altered" human... there is no way one can stay simply human after all that -- some residue has been left... also, in canon, he took a hit from a troll hammer wielded by an actual troll "god".... no "normal" human can survive that which can knock Glory senseless.... not to mention the fact he heals faster than most even in canon...........plus some of the alternate Tony Starks I put into him due to the Halloween spell are not completely human either.... magic has consequences, his body was going the way of the dodo (think of it as an accelerated genetic cocktail that gave a mega-adrenalin rush with a real bad burn afterwards that's terminal once done) and he would have died until Lilandra was able to halt the degradation by introducing a variant of the ultimate antidote in the form of the Aerie-gene... his new undersheath is what is maintaining his body and keeping it alive until all the changes have been halted. In essence, take away his undersheath and he dies.... this is going to be his major weakness without the armor on.
And I just recently moved... am using a friend's machine until I finsh unpacking and start writing again.
PS... I took the idea of the Extremis technology in the current Iron Man Comic books as the basis of Lilandra's way of keeping Xander alive.

Very, very nicely done. I'm looking forward to the occassions that you'll be able to update as the year heads toward Christmas. The eventual meeting one-on-one between Xander and SG1 is one I'm looking forward to with great anticipation. I hope your muse and schedule will allow you to write and post more chapters sometime soon. Keep up the good work. Zafaran {mailto:} zafaran {at} fastmail {dot} fm

This is fantastic. I have no idea where you are heading, and I can't help but be enthralled with what you have done. The Iron Man movie this summer really jazzed me up and this has continued the awesomeness of Iron Masomnophilian. Good luck with the war against insurance companies. Hopefully we weren't hurt too much in your car accident. Thanks for writing this.

Wow. This story is amazingly detailed and I'm loving reading every word of it. I especially love your newly invented Technite's. I admit most of the comic references leave me lost as I never read very much of them, but your story explains just enough of it to get me by. One question though, what happened to Loki? I might have missed it while reading, but I thought he was with Xander when they crashed. Oh, and who is Lilandra? I guess I could look it up if I have to. So, great work and I'm looking forward to your next update.
Comments from author:
Lilandra = Majestrix of the Shi'ar Empire in Marvel Comics canon... in my story, just a name Xander gave to the alien AI he met, but in my story, the AI's creator does have a passing resemblance to pass as the Marvel Comics canon's body double.
Loki = he got into an escape ship and it probably still out there somewhere...
... and that answers a few of the questions, hopefully.

DuskieReview:
This is an awesome story. It's weird. I expected it to get silly with the size and crossovers, with many marvel fanfics, if not wholly movie based, I find that there are just so many marvel characters that the writer just cant can't seem to keep track of all of them and then they us too many obscure characters.
I end up spending half the time reading it trying to find out who they are and where they fit into the marvel universe or which incarnation of common characters the author has used.
I passed it over many times for these reasons. But now I've read it I love it and hope you update soon. (and it doesn't have my usual problems with people writing marvel. =) )
I’m slightly confused about what is killing Xander, is it over evolution or the mutation or just what the Starks did?
Was the arc, now Lilandra, in something somewhere?
I also love the random insertion of Biggs and Wedge. Its like when in FF, every time you have a new world/game you have a new incarnation. I think that if Xander goes to anther world there should be another pair or maybe you can randomly dispose of a Cid or two instead. Although most Cid's live longer than Biggs and Wedges, the things one must contemplate, can one morally dispose of a Cid as easily as a Biggs and Wedge.
Once you made them Bitz and Wetz I couldn't see them as anything except miniaturized X-ATM092's from ff-viii. Lol, giant runaway replicators with ray bomb *Ahhhhhhg*.
Anyway, this is a runaway review. Can’t wait for you to update soon?!
Comments from author:
Thanks for the review.. what's killing Xander is that the spell's after effects still continued at a slower pace.... with Xander not settling for a specific version of Tony Stark when he originally went in costume, got almost all of the different versions stuck inside him (not only in his head)... his body is trying to do the same... some of the different variations are not completely human and that is what is trying to tear him apart... its like that theory where no two similar things cannot occupy the same space.... in Xand's case, its a few similar things that do occupy the same space.
....Lilandra is just a name Xander gave to the older than dirt alien AI that never really had one.... I hope that clears a few things up. :)

Hope your RL eases up on you soon. Meanwhile, thanks for posting another chapter, and thanks for bringing SG1 back into the mix and starting Xander on the journey home. I got a kick out of Jack citing "Voyager", since he always seemed like strictly a classic Trek fan (wanting to name the Prometheus prototype "Enterprise", etc.). If Sam or Daniel should by any chance turn out to be Deep Space Nine fans, my cup of joy will overflow!

No offense, but I would recommend not trying to combine your friend's comic style with your prose style. Something suitable for a comic book typically doesn't translate well to purely written word, because so much of the story is told via artwork.
Good luck with the insurance idiots.
Comments from author:
lol no offense taken either... I generally use what he had as a guide to describe what was going on since I basically gave him the layout/story to look over and see what he could come up with... but you're right in a way, visual style storytelling is different from written word as the nuances told ala art doesn't translate well 75% of the time.
