I like the changes in Xander here, but i really want to read more!!!!!!!! What are Willow and Buffy's reactions to the new him? Does he start to accept Angel for who he is and not what? What about Giles?

he won't. Alex was in for learning side, wisdom, Ardeth will train Xander to be wariror and Alex still has one thing all the tats in the world won't give Xander. he has Medjai blood nad that emasn XNader cna't learn soem things no amtter how much Ardeth trained him

well, I cut one other part of him learning because the last review was complaining they were being too hard on him. Next he learns he has to get physically stronger before he can use Ardeth's sword right. He can get a lighter one made for him though.

Thinking on when they go back to Sunnydale. THis one I think I'll skip the Angelus thing. that Buffy and Willow didn't care he was in the hospital may have turned Angel off to her. And if he took over the town he wouldn't have had time for her but soemone needs to control as many fledges as possible and Angel does have the power to do it.

i'm sorry i think there being a little, well a lot harder on xander then is really neccesary. I mean, i know they live on a desert, but come on. Vampire fighter, just came out of the hospital. THere are many ways of explaining to people the way of life with out making them feel as if there two feet tall and worth as much as the nearist corn stalk. There being rude, and inconciderate, something i don't see Adreath or Rick being. If i remember correctly it was Rick who went to the 'forbiddin' area and helped relase a mummy bent on taking over the world. Adreath didn't kill him,??

Actually it was evie and it's been four months. Xander is sitll acting like he did on the hellmouth even though they tried to be nice. He doesn't like doing homework, he doens't like being wrong and ALL human beings fear change. And I was nicer in the last part.

and as this is post seaosn one I doubt we can call him a vampire fighter. he didn't start actively slaying vamps until season 2.

Besides, when he gets back to Sunnydale (Only to graduate with his class) he'll have skills he actually earned. The Hyena fled the Medjai and besides he's not alpha enough to hold that spiit indefinitely anyway. Ardeth could but Xander is too much an order taker. especially in the earlier seasons where this is set.

Also, if they aren't hard on him, if they dont force him to change, he'll be dead. Would that be to your preference? As I said it's bneen four months, this isn't 'Just out of the hospital' as you put it.

Ardeth is a lot ahrder on Alex, by the way. I will not Xadner-Sue this story or have him ahve instant maturity, sorry. it took six and half seasons in the show, Luckily here it'll take six and a half months. Like when he sese what Ardeth does and uderstands.

I like the idea of this story but the tone is too harsh. Alex was raised in a certain amount of luxury with a loving mother (who is missing here and not explained). There is no way he could be so down on Xander for not knowing how the Medjai work and live. Jealousy about his father's attention being split would cover some of it but not this much. Rick would have been firmer with him about behaving. Ardeth would understand that Xander showing concern about his well being doesn't equal disrespecting his abilities.
Also when did Xander's hatred/fear of vampires (who are soulless killers in 99.9% of his experience) translate into being racist against Arabs? Xander doesn't like killing people. This isn't a bad thing. Okay sometimes Darwin needs some help and he understood that after it was explained.
All in all the tone is very harsh and I don't think the characters are being written true to themselves. On the other hand all the grammar/writing rules seem to be good. Good luck with this. You have written many stories I enjoy.

Remember Ardeth was very tired when he got home that night. He's exhausted and in pain from having to kill someone else that day. eh doesn't like killing either. It wasn't Xander that said the Arab comment it was the people he did have to kill and the ones he scared back to Cairo

and Xander doesn't like people to change. Rick has Changed. and they;'re all learning who each other are now. and Ardeth still sacrificed himself or Xander's peace of mind. Alex doesn;t like that. Xander may act Like a c child a lot but Alex is one. and Ardeth is his hero sos seeing Ardeth deny himself for Xander upset him

I always thought that Xander understood that some people just had to die. O was that just after the halloween when he became a soldier?

He did not become a soldier. he did not earn any of that knowledge.

and no, he understood when demons and people he didn't like had to die. if it was one of his or a human he didn't understand. and the watchers don't kill people for going near cursed ground. if they did Sunnydale would be a crater. Ardeth just walked off to do his duty which may entail killing people he doesn't even know. that Xander didn't understand because he ash no idea what the desert is. He thinks like a human boy. Ardeth is and has been a man since he was Xander's age. He's been king that long, too.

It's a clash of culture and mindsets and what Xander was taught was the way things should be and what Ardeth was taught and knows of how things actually are.
