Review:
Just wanted to let you know what an amazing fic this is. The distrust between the Hunters and the Slayers (council) is beautifully handled, and you have an amazing grasp of everyone’s characterisation. Buffy’s distrust of the Hunters is understandable; the Hunters doesn’t exactly provide the best first impression nor summon trust on first, second or third impression. And you are right, Buffy is the sort of person that would get on Dean’s nerves, add on top of the fact that Dean has been in Hell for 3 months (which can potentially be hundreds to thousands of years) no wonder he is angry at this chick who comes in with a Holier than Thou attitude as if she deserves to be revered.

I’m fascinated by this crossover because unlike many other authors it seems as you have taken the time to consider the differences between the internal-universe-logic within each series. Things I’m very curious about; how are you going to handle the idea of ‘Hell’? In the Buffyverse Hell are parallel dimensions that suck for humans. In the SPN verse Hell is literally Hell, nothing parallel about it.

Buffy!verse tend to hand wave the ugliness of humanity, make the supernatural every day and less scary. Supernatural tend to show rather than tell (when the writing is good), powers are mysterious and there is no clear cut who is actually more powerful. For example, Glory went about frolicking around Sunnydale brining doom and gloom, opening portals, blah blah. The YED made the population of a whole town disappear, made teleporting happen, possess people, etc., etc., and everyone is pretty damn sure he didn’t even show 1/10th of his powers. It is like demons and supernatural beings in Buffy are flashy; more focused on the show then the results, while SPN demons and supernatural beings are more focused on getting the job done, less firework doesn’t mean less power. Actually thinking about it the Trickster is more in align with Buffy creatures, but even then SPN never comes out and state just what is in the realms of his powers.

Also, thinking about the explanation for the Slayers it makes sense that they would be tainted by demons (First Evil), after all possessed humans in the SPN!verse becomes super human strong like that of Slayer. Except they are much more deadly because while possessing humans they can’t be killed and powerful demons exhibits psychic powers.

Sorry about the long blah, just really excited about the fic!

I am thoroughly enjoying this story. You have the characters, including strengths and weakness, very well. Especially like seeing Bobby, Ellen and Giles figure so prominently -go the over-40-crowd! Your story shows both bad history and culture shock on both sides. I can't wait to see what happens when Giles visits Bobby. Buffy seems a bit more hardheaded than normal, but with her life I can see her go that direction.

Personally, as a fan of both shows, Buffy rarely scared me as much nor as often as Supernatural. So I am very interested in seeing where you are going with all this.

Did you find a beta? This chapter looks better. If not, let me know.

Well you know what I think already but here goes:

I really cannot take Supernatural that serious as regards the quality of their Demons.
Also since this show started after BTVS was gone its clear they probably raised what was intended trying to out do that show.
Bottom line is that the Slayer is the main weapon against the forces of Darkness.
NOT hunters. Sorry those that try and think they are close to equivalent are dreaming.
Could see the anti Buffy crowd as usual being blind. Dean 3 months in Hell. Whoopie.
Sorry the attempts to make what they went through being equal to what Buffy has been through is pathetic and I wish they would quit.

Now as Regards the Council= its been pointed out MANY times that policies in the council have waxed and waned depending on who was running it. This blanket condemnation of the Council is a little STUPID frankly. Now I have no problem with jumping all over the Council when idiots like Travers was running it- BUT that did not happen all the time. So what happened when more intelligent and reasonable people were running the council?

I love the entire idea of this. The slayers and hunters get chummy far too quickly in most fanfics, and it's good to see them wary of each other. I can't wait to see where this ends up, so please update it soon! =)

hmm...seems to me that both the Hunters & the New Watcher Council (NWC) have some preconcieved (and wrong but understandable) ideas of what the other side is.

Each has had bad experiences with the other:

The *Old* Council snatching potentials without a "by your leave" & being completely intolerant of anything that might not not *human*.

The hunter Cain tring to kill Oz just to collect a bounty, not because he thought it was the right thing to do.

Now how do we fix this?? An 'exchange' program maybe?

Have Buffy spend time with Bobby (frankly he seems the most stable of the Hunters) and have Dean (& Sam) spend time with the New Council.

Bobby would show Buffy that all hunters don't come in with "a swagger, a gun, and a necklace teeth".

And hanging with the Scoobies would show Dean that they aren't all knee jerk "supernatural Inquisition. If they decide something or someone is too dangerous or dark they take them out. Try, convict and execute." types (imagine Dean meeting Clem with his love of junk food or Lorne asking 'Studmuffin' to sing for him).

Giles probably should have specified what he wanted Buffy to do. By get Willow and Xander here, he certainly didn't mean come with magicks a-blazing! I'm hoping Buffy won't think to do that. I'm sure Xander will be the voice of reason. Can't wait for more!

I was so happy to see this story updated. And the second chapter was excellent. I especially loved your portrayals of Bobby and Ellen, two of my favorite SPN characters.

Also, it seems like some people are forgetting what a bunch of assholes the original WC were. Just look at how they treated Buffy and the gang over the years. I mean, anybody remember the Cruciamentum? They definitely had that, "We know everything, our way is the only way, whatever we do is okay because we're THE WATCHERS," attitude going on. And I can sure see them treating Hunters like a bunch of dumb hicks who were beneath them. So I have no problem believing they richly deserved the very bad reputation they've earned among the Hunters.

Just because somebody comes in and tells them the WC is under new management and things are different now doesn't mean the Hunters should believe them. And Buffy and (to a lesser degree) Giles coming in wearing all of their preconceived notions about Hunters on their sleeves (which I could totally see happening) was not the best way to change their minds about the WC.

And see what your story is doing. It's got me thinking deep thoughts and stuff. :D

Anyway, enough of my rambling. I'm looking forward to chapter 3.

Well, I hope Giles guards his pocket :) I really liked your portrayal of Ellen's take on the situation. I enjoyed the B:tVS show but never particularly liked Buffy (I wouldn't have minded it being called Xander (or Tara): the Vampire Slayer :) ).

Thank you for not writing a situation where all other characters bow down to Buffy (I always thought there was more brawn than brains there), who I never thought would be a good leader. Giles is a much more interesting character and I like your view of him :) I am interested to see if he will actually tell Buffy that she makes the situation much worse with her arrogance :) I would enjoy that :)

I am really looking forward to the upcoming chapters, please update again as soon as possible :)

P.S. Please don't let Willow be all-powerful, it is really depressing reading some stories where she is invincible and all-knowing, and therefore she becomes arrogant and everything she decides is for the best and she is never wrong. Sorry, that was a little too much like a rant, which it wasn't intended to be :(

This is interesting. I can just see Giles going to long for Buffy's tastes, she finds the roadhouse and starts taking people apart. Maybe someone pulls a gun and she breaks his wrist.

Also about one of my previous reviews.

The Watchers returning Indian magical items makes sense for two reasons. One, out of gratitude they might be willing to show how they're made. Two, Indian settlements are much less secure than a frontier house, and Indians turn into vamps as easy as anyone else. Imagine a vampire just walking into an Indian camp and tearing down a Teepee.

I think it's a good idea if Giles went there alone. Although...if Xander went with him will be better. Buffy is too hot headed and impulsive. Did First Evil had anything to do with the mistrust between these 2 groups? It just like something that First Evil's work.

Really like this story so far, and the pacing of it. All the characters are portrayed accurately and with respect (in supernatural x-over's it's so easy to overplay one side or another.) Keep up the good work :)

Fantastic :) Thank you so much for not letting buffy get away with her 'aren't I so special' 'you know nothing of sacrifice' crap :) Yes, you told that stuck-up slayer and (slightly better, I think Giles understands that there are others out there who do just as good job as, if not better than, buffy) watcher that they don't know everything :) I hate stories when Buffy can just assume that she is the boss and that no-one fights as hard as her, and everyone just bows down to her.

I can't wait for the next chapter, hopefully buffy will have to learn some humility (stop relying on her brawn to run the show)

Please update again as soon as possible :)

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from (Moderator)Ava
Review:
The third season makes Sam's argument about 'true' demons makes absolutely no sense. The only thing that comes close to a true demon in the BtVS world is Illyria and there hasn't been one shown on SPN yet.

You have a pretty good grasp of Ellen, Bobby and Sam but your version of Dean almost had me hitting the back button it felt so forced. I get that he's annoyed but Dean's insults fell short of his usual snarkiness and you made him sound like the red-neck hick that Buffy is assuming him to be.

Also you have missed capitalizations throughout this chapter that should be corrected.
