frankocsicReview:
nice start, very promising. it's a refreshing story as this is the first one i've read that has those two major characters. can't wait to see what you do with this. good job and update soon!
Comments from author:
I'm glad you liked it, and thank you for reviewing. However, if you had checked the little box at the top of the page, you would have noted that it says "Completed: Yes." The story is complete as it stands, and while there could easily be many sequels written, they will not be written by me anytime in the near future. If you would like to write one, you are more than welcome to do so, as long as you let me know. (I'd love to read a sequel myself, I just don't have the time to write it.) I'm sorry if this came out as bitchy, but I've gotten so many reviews of things that are complete and marked as such and people ask me when the next chapter is coming out and it's gotten to be really annoying. If you want to read more of my stuff, you can find it here at TTH or beatrice_otter.livejournal.com.

Ooh! Nice touch saying that the Ancients based their tech on Time Lord biology/gene-splicing :)

Sheppard as a humanized Time Lord? That's just . . . brilliant! And what a way to bring out the poignancy of the Doctor's essential loneliness, as well as to explore Sheppard's almost unbelievable knack for lucky timing!
Comments from author:
Thank you! I had a lot of fun thinking it up and writing it.

Loved this..
Doctor rejected again though :( I always feel so sorry for him when he's left alone.
Comments from author:
I know. And on a fundamental level, he always is, even when he's got a companion.
Thank you for reviewing!

ok, now i've actually been thinking about this...
i'm guessing this chapter was set early season 4 right, with Sam as the 'leader'...
i'm not saying yes yet, but i might take this off your hands for a sequel, i'm really tempted to write this up and throw in a lot of angst over John losing Elizabeth to the Replicators... should he open the locket or not sort of thing...
have the Doctor show up a few times and then have John open the locket at the end of the fic...
just an idea because i think John would make a kick ass Time Lord, especially as he really doesn't give a damn about most rules if he can save someone...

That's not the direction I'd take it, but I can see it being a great story that way if it's well done. Go for it, champ.
(And yes, John would so make a kick ass Time Lord.)

ZahriReview:
*snickers wildly* Sam's so calm about the whole matter. "Oh, hi Sheppard. You got a lift home in a time ship? Make sure you don't create any paradoxes". It's always nice to see that after 10 years of crazy hijinks, Sam just can't be phased because, after all, she's had crazier happen to herself several times, and there are protocols in place about what to do in such situations.
I also loved how Sheppard was completely calm about the whole new sort of alien thing "urgh first contact, want my buffer here to deal with it for me..." In Who everyone always has to deal with the shock of aliens; it's nice for the fact the Doctor's an alien to just be an ordinary, mundane thing for once, not worth getting excited about.
Fun story. Loved it.
Comments from author:
I'm glad you liked it, and thanks for reviewing. I had such fun myself--my favorite part was when the Doctor wanted to show off his TARDIS and John's so blase about it.

OMG OMG OMG! You HAVE to do a sequel to this... It's one of the best Doctor Who Xovers I've read in a long time!
And, THANK YOU for having John say No to opening the locket. I think it's totally in character for him and if, as the Doctor said, The Atlantis Expedition did so well because a Time Lord was helping to lead it, then maybe if John DID open it, things might have gone spectacularly bad after he left. I mean, we already saw what happened when he disappeared and went (however many thousand years) into the future... BTW, That would be a really good episode to cross for a future story in this 'verse... (*hint hint*)
Comments from author:
I'm so glad you liked my story! However, unfortunately I have little time to write and several other stories to work on, so there will be no sequels to this in the forseeable future. If you would like to write one, you're more than welcome to do so.

It would be awesome if you would get inspired to turn this into a series.

Plot bunnies are not the problem, alas. Time is. I have to little of it as is, and other fanfic projects well ahead of a sequel to this in the queue. If you want a sequel, you're welcome to write one.

I have no plans for a sequel at this time. (I have several other fanfic projects on a back-burner that I'd like to get to and am starting an intense internship.) If you would like to write a sequel, you're welcome to do so. Thank you for reviewing!

I'm glad you liked it! I have a minor obsession with the Chameleon Arch and how it might be used to preserve remnants of the Time Lord race, and was excited to have a fic to use that plot device in. I have no plans to write a sequel at this time. If you would like to, you're welcome to.

Cool story, it's kind of neat to see the world from the Doctor's POV. Though you would think the SGC would know about time lords, I mean one DID assassinate the president:)
Comments from author:
But that might not have happened yet, even if it's happened to the Doctor. I mean, he does go travelling through time as well as space.

Yep, almost started crying for the Doctor. I do wish he had stayed to talk with the city, but we know why. *sniff* And now John will always wonder.
Nicely done.
Comments from author:
Thank you for reviewing! I don't think the Doctor will be able to stay away for long--he'll keep popping in and out at odd moments. And assuming John survives to retire and grow old, I think eventually his curiosity about the locket will get the better of him.
