Beautiful. It's far too common to see stories where the characters are either black or white. Hell, even Buffy's most ambiguous fall into that trap quite a bit.

This isn't quite Death Note (I loved seeing Light and L and cheering for the conflict because I couldn't favor one over the other), but in it's own way, it may be better. It's far too rare to see a character who is dangerously psychotic and doing what he believes to be objectively good, but doesn't stoop to murder (too cliché, to use a somewhat twisted view of it), has a view of innocents that matches up reasonably well with those of sane people (since the ferry test), and isn't in a situation where he's forced to bend or break his own twisted morals. (eg. sacrificing friends to save himself or knowingly losing the big game to avoid having to harm his friends)

UPDATE: Yeah. It's that believable stable instability that I find so rare and precious in stories. The situation that could get ugly at a moment's notice and yet, incredibly, it stays stable for ages and ages without the reader feeling that something's wrong. (You can see why I liked the Ranma ½ manga so much. It combines that with a sort of innocence that's also found in the Harry Potter books before they got boring and stupid)

Thanks. Xander is really a villain in a heroes shoes, but he's NOT an anti-hero. He's more of a 'I'm only doing this for my own amusement and I will turn if I feel like it so fuck you' kinda guy.

I do hope Raven DOES get obsessed with him(Xander I mean) in a GOOD way that is.
Not dissing HQ but as Xan stated it's just a BUSINESS arrangement. Xan NEEDS a girl like Raven
that won't use or manipulate him like Cannon willow/Buffy/ other ex girls have done.
Beside the point? Trigon being who he is, MIGHT appreciate Xander in a GOOD way after he
scans his wayward daughters mind. And nothing spells Apocalypse with caps than the 8th devil
(inter-dimensional HELL GOD)pissed off at people that would DARE steal his amusement or fan.
The PTB AND Wolf Ram & Hart would be F.U.B.A.R. especially when he would consider the
budding clown prince of justice a GOOD man for his wayward ONLY daughter(DC verse he
had 1 only daughter the rest were BOYS 7 sons) Remember the Titans have only seen Raven's
daddy dearest in a slightly miffed mood, they have yet to see him mad or truly PO to the 9th
power as of yet.

Good story so far. I am NOT dismissing the Harem theme your subtly introducing and quite frankly
I applud it and how things are fleshing out. HOWEVER I do have some reservations
NO BTVS girl/woman in his harem tyvm with the exceptions being....
Jenny Calendar/Jana Kalderash (She supported Xander in cannon)
Joyce Summers (See Jenny reason)
Tara (Glenda the GOOD with aka Spike nickname)

Interesting possibilities suggestions?
Jinx(Xander thought she was 'hot')
Argent(Brit and well everyone needs a Rupert Giles fem type that's not a bigoted Tosser!)
Raven!(Someone that CAN identify with him on 'DADDY DEAREST' issues)(He has 2 Bastard father figures!)
Mother Mae Eye(Mother figure number 3!)


All in all a good story just DON'T sugarcoat things with the Scoobie girls.

Very good. I really like this version of Xander. It shows darkness without being evil. And he is still himself, in a way. Raven's reaction to finding out the truth is good. Of course, now will come the 'we have to fix him' stage. They should consider that he is a devil on the side of angels. Maybe just a little too devilish. Glad you got back to this one and your sore hands are appreciated. (You know, that didn't sound right.) Later.
