You need him gone and gone soon. With Angelus free and Oz dead the next viable event would be the events in "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered" now there would be no Valentine love spells but Xander probably would still catch Amy's little magic trick (hypnotizing the teacher to avoid punishment for not doing homework) now the first modification that the PTB might just happen to leave a spell book with certain transportation spells somewhere for Amy Madison to find and study (or even just a page in one of her mum's books that she just happened to be reading the night before) now a sterner, colder, way scarier Xander Harris pulls Amy aside and tells her that he needs to talk to her later after school might cause the witch to slightly panic but Xander heads to class and Amy pulls out the spell and manages to have the components. When Xander pulls her aside at the end of the day she blows some dust in his face lights some herbs and says a short Latin phrase causing a portal to open up and swallow him whole.

Walla! Though you might want to compound it by having Whistler remove the evidence by removing Amy's memory of casting the spell and the page/book vanishing back into thin air.

I don't really see Xander liberating Pylea taking that long so you should either have the time there be slower so that a few weeks could be some months on earth or you grant Xander a disability like amnesia or a broken leg and have Fred find him and help him out.

Or after you can use any of the previous ideas to complement these.

No need for the leg to happen. You see the people in Pylea are beaten and broken, it will take a while to gain an army large enough to not only overthrow one city but the whole land. That would years on horse back. Thanks for the Amy idea, my friend. I'll probably update Sarafan Brotherhood next, check that out and tell me if you have any ideas about that. I would love to hear them.

Obviously the best time for Xander's departure would be at the end of the season with Acathla. Normally I dislike escalation of enemy action from cannon but with Xander and his T series Angelus probably would use a vampire's expedience switch and produce even greater numbers of minions even by going farther afield to gain a surplus. Escalation for its sake alone pisses me off as if the enemy were capable of greater actions or weaponry they would have considered it in cannon. But if instead of 20 minions Angelus has a hundred then Xander would be kept busy fighting while Buffy tries to stop Angelus.

First Part in place.

Second part the Powers That Be decide that they will kill two birds with one stone and alter the printout of the spell in such a way as to make the soul permanent while upping the asking price of the curse (as I strongly believe that the stronger magic is the greater its cost whether it is immediately apparent or only becomes apparent in hind sight) and instead of where Willow faltered before she seemed to be possessed she continues on for a slight bit longer.

And then instead of just a swirling vortex from cannon Acathla the vortex starts shooting out lightening bolts(similar to the Glory portal) add a bit of flair they barely miss everyone though large chunks of the floor goes missing where they strike. Xander in a power armor is going close combat as some minion had knocked his plasma riffle out of his hand (maybe lightning struck it and it vanished as well as one of his Terminators if you want them there in Pylea)

~Cut back to willow~
Willow: Nici mort, nici al fiintei...
Translation: Neither dead, nor of the living...
Cordelia: (freaked out) Hey, speak English!
Willow: Lasa orbita sa fie vasul care-i va transporta, sufletul la el.
Translation: Let this Orb be the vessel that will carry his soul to

The table lurches hard. The camera pans around
Willow and closes in on her face.

The Orb glows brightly for a brief moment and goes dark. Willow suddenly

Cut to the mansion. Buffy raises her sword to dispatch Angelus, but
stays herself when he suddenly gasps loudly and groans in pain. She sees
his eyes glow bright red for an instant and go back dark.

As Angel's eyes glow no one sees a lightening bolt strike out and hit Xander causing him to vanish into then air.

They don't realise he is missing until way later when they notice Buffy is also missing. Maybe one of the T units recorded his vanishing so that the Scoobies know that he did not run away.

You could rewrite the spell scene for Miss Calender but I think she firmly believed that she was not strong enough to cast it so it may have been Willow any way even if the teacher lived.

If you want Xander back for Graduation then I really would think that when the Sisterhood of Jhe opens the Hellmouth to have Xander crawl out of the ground would be really brilliant. Simply have him of escaped Pylea the wrong way and remember that while some Hell dimensions might have time running really fast others could flow at normal time or even be slower than Earth's (heck I bet there are even dimensions whose time runs backwards if you wanted to hunt them down or even that jump around time maybe have Xander be one of the ones responsible for one of the Egyptian uprisings against the Goa'uld or one of the founders of the Watchers Council whose message was lost to antiquity) if Fred was with him she would not be able to keep her shy persona from cannon but probably end up as an odd blend with Sarah Conner.

Work with me if there is something that feels wrong with these scenes. While Jhe would only be 9 months it would still let him be able to help plan things and if you work it out you could even have Xander go under cover working for the mayor by having him claim to have kill the Deputy Mayor before Faith can try to spin her lies only to have him have a talk with Faith about collateral damage and Buffy for throwing innocent bystanders at a fighter during a combat situation (if you want to try to handle that challenge point),

Wow i found this tonight great 3 chapter cant wait to see more.

The only one thing i think you should add into the story is that Xander starts to learn a bit of magic or he starts to collect or make a database of magic and demonic books or information. Because all large scale wars are won by information plus conner paranoia would probably make him do it.

I also love the fact that Xander might be starting a multi reality war on darkness. it would be very cool if you sent him to some well known worlds besides Stargate. you could maybe make is so that he recreates the time machine and adds some magic to it so he able to go to other dimensions. He could send the terminator army to the wheel of time world because the bore that freed the dark one sounds suspiciously like a hellmouth. or perhaps the world of Azeroth he could probably learn allot of combat magic from them and he could probably get some good ideas on how to make a inter dimensional ship by studying the Exodar.

Anyway i hope you update soon your doing a great job of it.

There is one possibility that did occur to me. Wolfram and Hart represent some of the worst of the worst, if one of their clients lost a large chunk of their funds to a hacker that they can't retrieve they might try to do something to remove the hacker from the picture particularly if they want to have them come work for them so they might send him to be a slave in one of their hell dimensions to soften them up. And I can really see them having drug cartel clients. The funny part is that they don't have to know anything about Xander to have one of their mages send him to Pylea. Heck they don't even have to meet him first to want to soften him up before having him sign a contract, it sounds like something that was standard policy.

A second option would be to have one of Xander's enemies to contract Wolfram and Hart to lose him for a year or so. Either Dru or the Mayor or even someone a little more distant like a member of the Watchers' council (the council itself would never degrade itself with contracting the other side but one of the old school watchers might see the advanced technology as an affront to their traditions) or even who ever had oversight of the Initiative or Walsh herself (a year or more before they begin construction on the underground base) or even have the Order of Taraka do it believing that Xander is a true threat to them as a whole.

It looks like you are allowing this to cross over into the Stargate universe any chance you are going to let Xander gain any advanced knowledge like either having a Goa'uld try to posses him only for his cybernetic implant to get in the way of their control so that he is able to pull the snakes knowledge and memories without them being in charge. Or even better between his possessability, his implants and the odd way his mind works he is able to download an Ancient Repository of knowledge without his brain eventually frying (or even make it so that Xander' already existing knowledge of cybernetics is a different track than what the Ancients ever studied so that if he combines that and Ancient computer memory storage he could build a direct brain implant that could handle the excess...

Just thoughts and ideas and potential paths, if you would like some more help it would be easier to do so if you gave me an idea of when exactly you want Xander out of the picture and how long you want him gone. I mean if you really want Xander AND most of his influences to be missing in action then you could have the Powers that Be(or who ever they are able to manipulate in doing such) do the whole wizard of Oz deal and transport him AND Ted's entire house to Pylea of course at least Xander would need to coble together a power unit so that he could run the tools and computers so that he could finish up on his T units but they would be very useful there.

He needs to disappear for about a year, the PTB's already think that he is a danger to their immediate plans, to them Angel must survive and Buffy must confront him at Acathla.

Hmmm. The optic implant being ready to be implanted for just that situation was a bit too easy. Should have had Ted programmed and ready to replace any damaged organic systems with a cybernetic replacement as a matter of course, not just that one and he should have the organic tissue etc... to cover it up and make it look normal like on a terminator unit. Then again I think that is what they have brewing in the basement.

Will a broken neck keep Oz down? It's not silver or anything like that. I guess it depends on how you're running lycanthropes.

I like the way you're running the PTBs. Excellent work. It's a nice change from the usual.

Thanks and maybe for Fred. As for the the replacement, the eye isn't the only cybernetic, it's called 'X-5' for a reason. They are just a little bare bones right now, so to speak.

The easiest solution is to let the series play out as it will only for the Acathla scene, events to be altered in such a way that Xander has to be the one that closes it.

The two possibilities that would make the most sense and are the least used would be for either Buffy to be knocked out in the fight and Angel to be resouled before he can kill her only for Xander to have to be the one to either shove the sword through Angel or he uses Angel's blood on the sword to close it and somehow gets swallowed himself and have the PTB either direct Xander straight to Pylea OR have him have to fight through hell to a portal that leads there (no where near Angel's centuries but a few years there before he gets to Pylea would ensure he is very battle honed before he even gets to the PTB desired battlefield).

The second easier option is to have Buffy run away a few days earlier than in the cannon timeline and thus Xander has to fight Angelus on his own and close the portal without her efforts. Whistler would still make an appearance with a sword but the messages while the same meaning would be slight differences particularly if he is upfront with the fact that the one to close the portal might end having to make their own sacrifice. On the surface it would actually make sense with Xander and Giles having pushed her harder than in cannon as well as with Xander seemingly able to handle everything she normally would have so why would she have to stick around for something that would be a waste of time anyways.

The third option that I would be reluctant to use since I have actually scene it used in other stories would be for Buffy to take Angel and run even while Acathla is taking its breath so as that Xander actually has to be the knight that does the blood sacrifice and end up swallowed.

Of course that is using the Acathla incident to get Xander off the Earth plane, it would be chlid's play for the PTB to nudge the Acathla portal at any time to send Xander somewhere else.

Yet another option that runs concurrently with cannon would be to use the Sisterhood of Jhe's efforts to open the Hellmouth the following season from the Zeppo episode and let Xander somehow fall into the Hellmouth without anyone noticing.

The option that I would like the least would be to orchestrate Xander actually meeting Fred's Professor Seidel (the guy who arranged having his most promising students sucked through the portal to Pylea) and the guy feeling very threatened by Xander hence him opening the portal on him. This could actually be pulled off if Xander was looking for a specific physics student that Professor Seidel had gotten rid of or if he asked questions on a theorem that Seidel had claimed as his own withot Seidel actually understanding it well enough to respond. But that would be convenient to the EXTREME and make things seem very contrived.

The last possibility I can think of off hand would be Xander visiting LA while the demons were taking homeless teens for the slave labor in the hell dimension and while rescuing the kids the portal closes with him on the wrong side and having to take an alternate route home, whether he is there with Buffy at one point or does it on his own depends on what would work best for your plot.

Again feel free to give me a shout if you need more ideas. Though I do prefer the idea of Buffy running away early best the other ones have potential to meet your wants. Though if pushed comes to shove you can just have a portal randomly opening up and sending him there in his sleep.

Maybe the LA one, btu the rest I doubt it as the PTB's are sending Xander to Pylea to test him AND to remove him from the Hellmouth temporarily so Buffy can grow. If Xander is always doing things for her then she will never grow into her potential. Any others?
