Eyes stared down at the two longest living Slayers who stood in pink pajamas and a towel. They didn’t look so threatening now but they knew better, knew the power each girl held. Knew that it was because of their power that they brought them back this other time around. Of course, much like most business contracts in the mortal world, theirs has been breeched. The Slayer’s had allowed their hearts to open up to those that they were supposed to protect. The Powers weren’t against love or happiness but it wasn’t time for the Winchesters or for those Slayers to find that love, not yet. There was still so much to be done, so much that needed to happen to help shape those four beings into the soldiers they were supposed to be.

“I’m tired,” spoke the eldest, Buffy Summers, and most leaned forward to listen, their greatest Champion of the Light standing proud with a steely gaze. Her voice was strong, but still filled with emotion that swam in her eyes. “I’ve lived, died, loved and lost. I’m just…Tired. You won’t let me rest, you won’t let me be happy but when there’s a battle around the corner you just… What else can I give you?”

“There is more,” spoke a woman with long brunette hair and purple eyes.

“So much more for you to give,” said a man with orange, catlike eyes and spiky blond hair.

“Death is your gift,” said another woman, her pale blue eyes almost matching her hair.

“Ok that line? SO over it,” said Buffy, hands moving to her hips as she turned in a slow circle. “Death isn’t a gift, its my curse!”

“Every time you’ve died, we’ve let you come back, let you complete a purpose,” said a male, eyes black but not filled with evil. “The first to defeat the Master that would reign terror on the hell mouth. The second the bring us another vampire with a soul to help even the balance, the third to bare the burden of defeating the First, to guide others like yourself to become what they needed to become.”

“The forth, with Faith, to protect our other Champions, the Winchesters, against those that wish to erase their existence from this plain.”

“Dude, you have died a lot,” murmured Faith as she stood beside Buffy. “Ok, so I get why she needed to be back. Why me?”

“Repentance for what you have done,” said the first that had spoken, her purple eyes piercing into Faith’s brown. “As you well know, redemption isn’t easy, it’s a long hard road that you’ve yet begun.”

“So, what, we’re not allowed to he happy at all?” asked Buffy. “Hardly seems fair. You’ve taken everything from us both. Everything. If you think we will continue to fight for you when all you do is punish us like a bunch of children.”

Buffy’s arms crossed over her chest.

“Then I quit.”

“You wouldn’t be able to handle it, knowing what was out there. Killing innocents,” said the man with the black eyes.

“Try me,” said Buffy, her eyes and body now full of stubborn determination.

“What she said,” said Faith, trying to look cool in her towel by doing her best to match Buffy’s stance.

There was a loud murmur, voices speaking in quick dialects that the Slayer’s couldn’t understand. Finally there was a hush and one that had yet to speak, gills at her throat with rainbow streaked hair stood. Unlike the others, she wore a lilac purple toga looking dress. Her hands rose up, fingers webbed as they splayed out and a large blue ball appeared and when the smoke inside cleared it showed the two brothers.

“They look worried,” said Faith, eyes saddening when taking in Sam’s look of fear as he spoke to a man Faith didn’t know.

“I know,” said Buffy, watching as well, knowing Dean was screaming his frustration even though she couldn’t hear what he was saying.

“They love you.” At this, both girls looked up. “They care for you. They would have accepted you for who you were.”

“Then what the fuck was the problem?” exclaimed Faith.

“It isn’t time.”

“Time, its always about time with you guys. Well have ya noticed that a lot of your ‘timing’ has been off lately? So bring us back NOW or else we can forget about the whole agreement we have with each other!”

Another murmur, louder: until who was probably the leader rose her webbed fingers again.

“I will make a…Proposition.”Buffy and Faith listened intently.“We will return you…”

All of the hope that had started to fill their bodies fell when the next words were spoken.

“On one condition.”

“Of course,” Faith muttered.

“You will have no memories of this, of what occurred from the first day you were brought back. Not of them, of the cases you took, anything. They will not remember you either. You will be on separate ends of the world…”

“Oh give me a break!” yelled Faith, towel falling as she rose her arms up in protest, but she really didn’t’ care that she was buck-naked before the powers. “Screw that! You gotta at least put us on the same continent.”

More whispers.

“Fine. Opposite ends of the states suit you?”

“Much,” said Faith, rolling her eyes.

“You must find each other, when your heart knows you’re meant to be, you will remember all of it. This meeting included. Agreed?”

“What’s to stop you from doing this again?” asked Buffy, still suspicious.

“We will not interfere. If you find each other, it is meant to be, and we will let what comes to pass occur,” said the man with the orange eyes.

The girls stared at each other then bent to whisper to themselves.

“You love Dean?”

“I… I’m not sure…. Sam?”

“I’m not good at this stuff but Sam… He’s different… So…”

“Wanna find out?” asked Buffy.

“Agh… What the hell…” They turned to the Powers. “Do it.”

Sam, Dean, and Bobby stilled, stopping what it was they were doing to shake their heads. They had gotten a weird feeling, like something wasn’t right but since they were in opposite rooms they couldn’t see that it had indeed happened at the same time. Blaming it in fatigue they quickly gathered back into the main room.

“So this spirit you wanted help on,” said Bobby as he put his book down. “Said it might have something to do with the demon?”

Spirit? Sam, for the life of him, could’ve sworn he needed help with something else but slowly that nagging feeling that he was forgetting something faded. Dean, too, had paused in his actions, looking down at the book he was reading. Huh, he couldn’t seem to remember anything he had read, but then again he had always found research to be boring.

“Yeah,” said Dean. “We think it’s a five year old girl who drowned in her parent’s pool back in ‘88...”

“So we get this second chance, well second for me and what? Third for you?” teased Faith as she closed her eyes, finding the breeze coming off of the Atlantic comforting. Her hair fluttered behind her while the white dress she wore blew gently around her ankles.

“Ha, ha…” Buffy said, wearing the same matching dress. “I just hate that I don’t get to see Dawnie again…Or, well, tell her who I am.”

“Never said anything about checking up on her. I’m sure that’s all right. Anyway, they said something about needing us to stop some sort of demonic war so… Should be fun.”

“Yeah,” said Buffy. “Can’t help but to think I’m forgetting something though.”

“That ‘Whoops I might’ve left the oven on’ feeling? Yeah, I had it too, kinda stopped now though. Side effects of being brought back? Oh, wait, I’m not going to want to suddenly hump evil vamps am I?”

Faith didn’t see the punch coming and was soon laying flat on the wet beach just as the waves came in, soaking her entire form.

"Ow!"

“Much better,” said Buffy, a smile on her face as she turned her eyes back to the bright water. She was getting another chance at life from the powers, the cost? Losing her family, but also saving hundreds from some demonic force that the Powers really didn’t know much about save a name…

Azazel.

END.

Ahhhh, well I had to end it on a sad note. They’ve forgotten each other but who’s to say they won’t cross paths again? As always reviews are appreciated. Let me know how badly you want this sequel! ;0)

And B4 you get alll GRR about the reasoning for Buffy’s deaths she has died 3 times NOT 2.… she flat-lined at the hospital after Warren shot her and D. Willow brought her back. So flat line equals death to me… k? k!
