“I already explained it to you. Harry needs my help to-”
“I know, to bring in the stray Death Eaters that are still out there. But why do you have to go? I mean, can’t someone else go?”
“Xander, why don’t you want me to help Harry?”
“It’s not that! You know I love Harry just as you do! But he is going to get you killed!”
“What in Merlin’s name are you talking about? I’m not going to die Xander.”
“You are! You are going to die if you go on this mission! This is a suicide mission, why can’t you see that?”
“Xander, wait-”
“Remus, if you go on this mission, don’t bother coming back here. I won’t be here to greet you.”
“Xander!”
“I’m sorry Remus.”


“He’s dead, isn’t he?”
“I’m so sorry…”

“I told you Remus…I told you not to go,” Xander sobbed as he collapsed in front of the newly dug grave. He clutched his hands to his face, trying to stop the river he knew was coming. His lover was gone…gone from his life and from his arms. The man he loved would never again walk through the door and say his name. He would never hold him, or kiss him, or argue with him about what was the best chocolate. He was…he was gone…
