The air was light and crisp, biting at peoples noses while causing mischief by tumbling newspapers and Styrofoam cups along the street. Even though there was no snow on the ground, the temperatures were still low, making the citizens of New York pull up the collars of their jackets and stuff their hands in mittens.

Day turned to night and the streets crowd dwindled to those of the night life. Girls in too short of skirts walked the corners: eyeing passing cars with looks in interest. Groups of gang members exchanged currency while passing bags filled with powdery substances in them. Others, like mothers with two jobs, hurried their pace while carrying bags of groceries or other necessities.

A woman with curly, brunette hair broke off from the sidewalk and turned into a dark alley that was filled with garbage and laundry that was being forgotten on the lines above. She smirked when thinking about how stiff it would be when they pulled it back in, since the air was so cold and all.

A breeze whirled in the small space, making leaves dance and spiral upwards. She turned when hearing a slight noise and listened. A slight sound behind her made her turn forward and smirk. She pulled the hood of her sweatshirt up and made it look like she was hurrying out of the alley. She made it down the stairs of the subway, laughter following her as a group of about ten guys came down the stairwell.

“Lookie here boys! A little lost girl.”

She stopped at they surrounded her and turned in full circles as they made insults and innuendos about her. Then, she stilled, a smile on her face so deadly it gave the boys pause.

“Hey, what you laughin’ about? Maybe Tino here should teach you some manners!”

She brought her arm out, catching the guy by his jaw and squeezing tight. He gurgled at his air supply was being cut short.

“Yes Tino, teach me some manners. Cause I AM a very, VERY bad girl.”

She tossed him with a grunt and he went sailing in the air, landing on top of a filled garbage can. Both the can and the young man went toppling to the floor.

“C’mon boys.”

She let the hood fall, showing her face, and pulled up the sleeves of her green sweatshirt. She brought her arms out and curled her fingers in a ‘come and get it’ fashion while practically jumping with excitement.

“Show me what ya got!”

Four figures ran across the rooftops of the troubled city. The leader, whose green skin gleamed with sweat in the moonlight, leapt from a bakery over to an alleyway. He climbed up the ladders of the fire escape, never breaking stride as he flipped up onto the roof, landing lightly on his feet only to start sprinting again. The figure behind him kept up just fine. Though his movements weren’t as quiet as the leaders, they were swifter and more energetic. The third of the group panting slightly but was quieter than the second form. His grip on the bars of the ladder would falter but he regained his momentum. Finally, the last turtle dragged behind. Grunting when slamming against the rungs of the ladder and gasping for breath when making it to the top. When seeing his brother start sprinting again he protested.

“C’mon Leo! Give us a break,” he whined while falling over.

“Michelangelo,” scolded the leader of the group, Leonardo. “Get up, we have six more miles.”

“Six more-” He got up. “You’re crazy.”

“Yer just out of shape,” said the largest turtle of the group, Raphael, who had a smirk on his face. “That’s what you get for eating all those Ding-Dongs, ya Ding-Dong.”

Donatello, the one who remained quiet, put a hand to Mikey’s shoulder.

“C’mon, just a couple more blocks and we can get a pizza and relax the rest of the night. Right, Leo?”

Leonardo had a look of debate on his face then nodded. Things have been slow lately. The Shredder, who was now meaner and more determined to end them, was hiding out from his latest defeat. However, he didn’t want to let up in their training, in case something were to happen.

“Hey,” said Raphael, who had been leaning over the edge of the building as a look out. “Looks like trouble.”

Michelangelo grumbled while being pulled up and followed his brothers to the edge of the building in time to see a bunch of local gang members follow a woman into the Subway.

“Some action, now that’s what I’m talkin’ about,” said Raphael while reaching with his three-fingered hands for his sai.

“Beats running another million miles,” said Mikey as he snagged his nunchucku, giving them a twirl.

Leonardo stood at the ledge, his brown eyes unblinking while checking out the area. They narrowed when finding their path and with a tilt of his head, he motioned them to follow. He jumped, like a swan dive, to the ground below. However, his large hands took hold of a street pole and his body did a complete flip around it before resting. Sliding down to the streets he hid in the shadows until the moment came to jog across to the subway entrance. He felt his brothers follow and as they got closer he held his hand up, signaling a hold while they cased out the situation.

“Hey, what you laughin’ about? Maybe Tino here should teach you some manners!”

Leonardo’s hands moved, grabbing his katana and letting them slide silently from their sheath. Donatello held his bo tight while Raphael and Mikey moved around to take another angle for the upcoming battle. Then something happened, she had attacked the guy, gripping him by his throat while lifting him straight in the air.

“Yes Tino, teach me some manners. Cause I AM a very, VERY bad girl.”

Leonardo was intrigued. Donatello was wondering how such a small girl could have such strength. Michelangelo was in awe, immediately putting her on a pedestal that held Xena and Wonder Woman and now her in high regards. And Raphael? He was turned on by the wild look in her eyes, her strength, and the snaky comments coming out of her mouth.

They watched as she tossed the guy like a rag doll and decided to wait and see just how great of a fighter she really was.

“C’mon boys, show me what ya got!”

They came at her all at once and the four figures in the shadows watched in complete awe as she dealt out punches and kicks that sent the mortal men to their knees: or even send them reeling to the point of landing on their face or ass. She leapt in the air when a group of five got close and somersaulted backwards. That forced them to reel around and get a kick to the face by a round house. The last of the five was quick and grabbed her by her boot covered ankle. He brought his fist back and punched her hard across the face then whipped her around so that she rolled on the littered concrete.

“How do you like that, Bitch?”

She looked up, a smirk on her face while she licked her lips.

“Lucky me, you hit like a girl.”

Raphael chuckled at that statement and Mikey snorted with laughter while Faith came up in a windmill kick, sending two more men into unconsciousness. When looking around, she only saw to left and they looked at her in fear and backed up.

“Aw, what? Party’s over already?” She shrugged. “If you insist.”

She gripped the two men by the fronts of their shirts and rammed them together. Their heads collided and they fell in a heap. She put her foot on one of them and rolled them to their back. She turned her head to the side, studying the guy for a moment before grinning madly. She reached into her pocket, pulled out a decorative dagger that had a dragon wrapped around the handle and a jagged, sharp blade: and then knelt down.

Not wanting the woman to commit murder, Leonardo stepped from the shadows: weapons drawn.

“I can’t let you do that,” he said and she reeled around to face him, weapon in the air: poised like a stake.

“Great, as if punk-ass kids weren’t enough, I have to deal with a demon as well.”

“Demons!” Raphael came out, eyes on fire. “Lady, we ain’t demons!”

“Oh? So seeing four walking, talking turtles with some nasty looking hardware is the norm in this town?”

“No,” said Donatello. “And neither is a five foot nothing woman taking out a gang of ten without breaking a sweat.”

“Or a nail,” she said, watching the fourth one come out. “Gotta give a girl credit for that. As for this…”

She jiggled the blade then turned her attention at the guy.

“Just using it to slice off the guys shirt. See, the second phase of my plan was to draw little hearts on his chest with my red lipstick, doll him up a bit before I robbed him.”

“Really?”

“Girl’s gotta get her kicks. What’s more humiliating than waking up after a,” she looked at the turtle in the purple mask, “five foot nothing girl taking him out without breaking a sweat, only to find she robbed him and drew cute little hearts all over his chest?”

“You must be a very sad girl,” said Raphael, twirling his sai.

“Baby, you have no idea,” she said, tucking her dagger back into her jacket. “Now, what the hell are you guys?”

“Turtles. Long story,” said Mikey. “By the way. YOU, are so cool. See, we saw you, and we were coming to YOUR rescue and you obviously didn’t need it.”

“Uh… Huh. Well, thanks.” She bent to reach for the wallet in the guys jeans and pulled out a couple hundreds and fifties before dumping it. “Well, love to chat and all but, gotta jet.”

“Just, wait,” said Leonardo, making Faith lift a brow. “Who ARE you?”

“Name’s Faith. And you, handsome?”

“I’m Mikey! That’s Leo, Don, and the one brooding in the corner is Raph.”

“I don’t brood,” grumbled Raphael while crossing his arms.

“Well, nice you meet ya and all but…” She flipped the hood of her sweatshirt back up and pocketed the money she had managed to snag from the boys. “I’ve got a date with the Landlord. Keep fighting the good fight you walking, talking, Turtle Demons.”

“We ain’t demons,” yelled an agitated Raphael, only to notice that she wasn’t listening and was already half way up the stairs.

“Sure Sparky, sure,” she said, and was gone.
