I don't own any of the characters I'm just playing with them
This is a sequel to Familia, basically a short about what happened after they walked out of the room. You don't necessarily have to read Familia to understand this story but it would help.
Thank you to all the people who reviewed Familia!
Have fun with this little bit.
That Day. That's how he thought of the day he discovered that Giles was his father. It could still surprise him sometimes, even though he wouldn't have it any other way. After that they learned more about each other, it would have been impossible for them not to, for about a month after it happened they were inseparable. It was kind of funny in a way to watch and, everybody who did, discovered just how alike they were. On the other hand they were so different that it made the similarities all the more shocking. He learned to accept and even enjoy most of Giles' strange little British customs, that turned out to be not so strange. Giles learned to be a little more tolerant to the California attitude that he still carried around, he had even heard Giles say "Whatever" a few times and his language had relaxed a bit even more so from his time spent living in Cali.
He spent as much time as he could at Hogwarts between the apocalypses and his continued demon hunting, from which he still got in trouble, almost a year later, with Spike and Angel if he didn't at least tell them where he was going and against what. It was all just a way for them to tell him it was to dangerous to go. And a way for them to be distracted from each other. They had one of the rockiest relationships of anyone he had ever met, at one moment they would be so sweet and caring to each other that you had to check for cavities after just watching them to about to rip each others throats out in the very next moment. Xander figured they needed someone to balance out the couple. He thought it funny that they came to him for advice, though he was always ready to help but not often able to. The first time he had helped came as a shock to both him and Spike, who was asking.
~Flashback~
"Xan, you awake?" Spike asked as he slipped into the room Xander was staying in at the Hyperion.
"I am now. What do you want, Fangface?" Xander replied shortly, sitting up.
Spike sat there on his bed for a time staring off into space and working his mouth as if trying to make it work. Xander started to get worried, something had disturbed the "Big Bad" enough to get him to this point and that couldn't be good. "Come on, Spike. I wont tell anyone if thats the problem. You know I've never done that."
Spike nodded. "I'm not worried about that but.....the thing is, whelp. I don't know how to tell the Poof that I love him."
"You've never told him that! But you guys have been together for a couple years now." Xander stated incredulous.
"Yeah well every time we get close to say anything like that we get into another fight." Spike explained, irritated that he was in this situation at all.
"Oh." Xander said before falling silent to think about this, then he snapped his finger as an idea came to him. "Come on, Spike you guys are Vampires! Just jump him! Throw him up against a wall and when you get to the.....uhmm.....high point yell out that you love him. Then if something goes wrong say it was the heat of the moment."
Spike sat there a moment, "I think you're a bloody genius, pet."
Xander smiled as Spike left his room a few minuets later.
~End Flashback~
As far as he could tell it worked like a charm, and Angel even came and thanked him a few days later when they resurfaced. Of course shortly after that they got into another fight but it had worked for a moment.
The situation had taken Willow a long time to accept, as soon as he was well enough him and Giles had tracked her down and confronted her. It had taken a while for them to be close again because she wouldn't talk to him and then when she did, she said the reason that she freaked was because all of a sudden he had this magical family when he was supposed to be the normal one. He had been so pissed off about that he hadn't been able to talk to her for weeks. It had taken Giles going between the two of them for Xander and Willow to finally start being friends again.
Everybody was much closer now, they all spent holidays either at Hogwarts or the Hyperion. Dumbledore had opened up a floo-gate at the Hyperion for special occasions. In the time after That Day, Xander had spent a lot of time with Dumbledore, usually with Giles. He would watch as the two of them reconnected and their relationship became less strained. He discovered Dumbledore's parental feelings towards Harry, who became something of a younger brother. They both took great pleasure in playing tricks on Dumbledore and Giles, which Spike, Angel, and Sirius joined in eagerly. They put saran wrap over the toilet seats in some of the bathrooms. Harry put a spell on several doors so that when they opened they would play a recording, some of them noises, such as moans and screams of passion or just laughing, and others were songs, they even got Angel to sing Mandy, much to the dismay of everybody else.
No one was really surprised at how well Angel, Spike, Sirius, and Remus got along together. If they weren't with Xander, they were off by themselves scheming or some such. Although Sirius was almost always found with Xander, just talking and getting to know each other. At first Xander found it nice to have a new friend but as time went on he found he couldn't stop thinking about Sirius. He tried to ignore his feelings for the other man, assuming that Sirius would not return them. He didn't know that his actions would spurn Sirius to find bigger and greater ways to win his affections. Sirius had gone to Spike, Angel, and Remus for help. They pulled every trick they knew collectively towards getting the two of them together. Nothing worked until Xander, who was fed up with being fake kidnapped, got himself untied, grabbed Sirius and kissed him within an inch of his life.
Things settled down after that with only the occasional yell for Xander and Sirius to stop making out in public. It was quiet until Angel and Spike decided that they wanted Remus for themselves. As hilarious as it was for everybody to watch them pursue the werewolf, it was oddly reminiscent of Xander and Sirius' pursuit. Even though they whole heartedly supported Angel and Spike's attempts, Xander and Sirius took Remus aside and explained things to him. At first Lupin didn't know what to do, however he quickly got over his confusion and pursued Angel and Spike almost as voraciously as they were pursuing him. The three finally ended up together, and the relationship seems to have quieted down and made them all happy.
Scheming on how to bring the couples together brought Harry and Dawn closer. They seem to be on the verge of becoming a couple. The two of them spend as much time as they can together, which isn't much considering they both have school and such but they seem to make it work. Buffy is happy bouncing around trying to repair her friendship with Xander and Willow, while trying to get Severus' attention. Dumbledore helped Buffy out by asking her to teach a voluntary self-defense class, so she got to try and keep Severus from "Competing with Angel for the most brooding". She seemed to be getting better at it or the talk he had with Angel woke him up to a few things. Willow has been seen talking up Tonks and disappearing for hours at a time with her. Only to surface later looking very disheveled, they say it's Tonks' clumsiness. All in all everybody was finally happy and things were settled, at least until the next Apocalypse hits.
