Two girls flopped onto two beds. "Hey sorority sis!" Buffy teased.

Barbara winced. "Quickly saving those twits from book-avalanches equaled us pledging?!"

Buffy and Barbara snickered at the memory until their third roommate whined. "You and Blondie are GU's early college infants... I've been trying to join that sorority for years!"

"Maybe they read your thesis?" Buffy supplied. "Where you said Jack Napier, brainsick hitman, is a poor misunderstood soul?"

A crazed look appeared in Harleen's eye. "Mr. J's a genius!"

Buffy secretly grabbed her stake as Barbara concealed her batarrang. Their eyes locked. Maybe speed wasn't the only thing they had in common.
