In a World of Darkness, There is no need for light

To be clear on the timeline, this fanfic takes place after season seven, but in the same year so that’d be around 2002. Harry and the gang were born in 1980 (except for Hermione, who was born in 1979) which would make them 23 during this fanfiction, though Herms would be 22. Buffy would have had to of been the same age as Hermione, givin her age in the show during this time, which would mean, if Faith were considerably younger…she’d have to be 20 years old. Dawn…well we don’t have to worry about her actual age, now do we? So anyway, For Harry Potter, it takes place after the books. I think….it would be four years after the book. And just so you know, there will be spoilers byond this point….

Dumbledore did die, as did Sirius. While I love that character with all my heart, I will not screw with the HP timeline more than I have too…Alright! Enough of that! On to the fic!

Also, just so you know, I only ever saw 2 episodes of Angel, so that will be a bit AU. Any information would be helpful on Angel.

The blood was everywhere. Faith and Little D had run, gotten to the City of Angels in no time. Faith almost wished she hadn’t. She hid the scene from Little D’s eyes. No need for the kid to see more bloodshed. Even if, as a toddler, she was too young to understand what was happening.

Faith had traveled by foot, carrying Little D in he arms the whole way. The Darkness was everywhere, and with it screaming. Her Slayer was yelling at her, telling her to go help those people but in reality if she had helped everyone who needed help, well, it would have taken months to get here. Besides, her first priority was Little D.

Her mind kept wonderin’ like this. It didn’t want to make sense of the scene before her. Fred, cute perky Fred lay on the ground, soaked in her and Gun’s blood. The man Faith had sort of considered a friend lay beside Fred, all beaten and bloodied. Something had done this too them, tortured them for what ever reason. Faith went to leave, no sense in stayin’ if they got Gunn they probably got everyone else too. Damn, what was happening to the world?

A sound stopped her. Some one was alive in this mess and Faith tensed. She whirled around, Little D woke with a start at the movement. Faith held her tighter and the kid starting to cry again.

What Faith saw made her eyes wide with shock. The face was unrecognizable. She couldn’t make out who it was until she got closer. Her heart pounded harder with each step she took. She’d never been this afraid in her life. And there he was. There they were. It wasn’t just one person, but two. Course’ they’d survive though, they were vampires weren’t they? Faith ran to the two, Little D’s cries got louder.

“Faith.” She stopped again, it was Spike… but no. That couldn’t be it. That couldn’t be her man, all covered up in blood like that. He wasn’t her man, but he was a friend. They were kindred spirits, her and Spike. She’d watched him die, watched him die to save the world when it would only turn into darkness.

“Spike.” That word, that single word seemed to make the whole world stop. The darkness seemed to step back a little, while she stared at the beaten man in front of her. There was something different about him though. Something…something like she hadn’t seen in…. No, it couldn’t be possible.

“Your human.” She whispered. Spike laughed, or as much as he could with that big ol’ wound in his throat.

“Sh-cough- Shoulda run Faith. Anywhere but here.” He said.

“Spike what happened?” Faith asked. She was spooked, her mind still trying to wrap around the idea that Spike was human again.

“They came, an a-cough- an army of them. You gotta get out of here, they wont let anyone alive in this City.” Spike said, eyes dazed like he was crazy again.

“Who?” Faith asked, her anger boiling.

“Gotta get out of here….” Those were Spike’s last words, before he passed out.

Faith, she did the only thing she could do. She ran. There was no one, beside Spike, Angel had been laying on the ground, a pile of ashes.

So Faith ran. Little D cried, over and over, louder and louder but Faith still ran. What ever was there, whatever had gotten Spike and the rest, they were still out there, and waiting for their next victim.
