Prologue
Disclaimer: I own nothing but these words I write. All characters belogn to either Joss Whedon or JKRowling. I am merely barrowing them.
A/N: Dawn's de-aging will be a part of the plot in later chapters, it is not put there just to make Faith's life harder. Please, beaware that I haven't written Faith's character and this is the first time I've ever done it...so, if I have some things wrong with her characterisitics, please let me know what I can do to correct it.
Now on to the story!

She couldn’t believe it. Faith stared as the whole world turned to chaos. The blackness was covering everything, fucking everything. For the first time in ever, the sun wouldn’t rise. The sun wouldn’t fucking rise! She swallowed the panic threatening to consume her. No, she couldn’t panic, if she panic, she’d die. That could not happen.
It wasn’t that she cared about her life, hell, nearly everyone else had died, why shouldn’t she? But that would leave Little D alone. And boy, did she mean Little D. The kid was a toddler now- no clue how that happened. All Faith knew was that every Slayer around her had fallen, screamin’ like there was no tomorrow, then the next she knew, they were dead. Every last one of them. Hell knows what happened, and Faith didn’t stick around to find out.
With little D in her arms, Faith ran, ran for all she was worth. She ran hard, and long the world becoming but a blur. Where to go, where to go? She didn’t know. She looked around, black, nothing but pure black. There should have been sunset. The sun should have rised, but somewhere, deep in the darkest pits of her heart, Faith knew that the sun would never rise again. It was like hell was covering earth. Where to go? What to do? Angel. He’d know, he’d help. Gotta go, gotta run. So she continued to run, and the darkness fallowed.
Little D cried, loud. Faith groaned awake, now. Since the darkness had fallen apon the earth, Faith had run, but there was only so much running a Slayer could do before they passed out. She didn’t pass out, not really, she’d found an abandoned hotel. There was no one. Man, Little D was loud. What the hell did the kid want now?
Faith sighed, sitting up, then stood. She walked to where Little D was, the soft red carpet feeling good beneath her feet. “D, C’mon kid,” Faith picked up the younger girl, holding her in her arms, “Can’t you be quite for Auntie Faith?” she asked, but there was no need. Soon as Dawn had been in her arms, the crying had stopped.
Faith sighed again, as Dawn wrapped her hair around her fingers. She pulled Dawn’s hand free of her hair, “Kid, I wouldn’t do that. Cut off the circulation ya know.” Little D just giggled like the baby that she was.
Faith heaved another sigh, “You ain’t gonna let me sleep with out ya are ya?” she asked. The look in Little D’s eyes was answer enough. Well damn, but maybe, just maybe Faith wanted someone to hold too.
“Always were trouble, you little brat. Doesn’t matter though, once we get to Angel, everything’ll be fine. Don’t you worry.” Somehow though, the words were more for Faith’s comfort than Dawns, seeing as the child was already sleeping peacefully in the arms of her sisters enemy.

A/N: So what did you think? Tell me! Did you like it? Why or why not? What can I do to make it better?
