The Shirt Deserved Vengeance

Cute and Comfortable tops are priceless
Disclaimer: I do not own Veronica Mars, Buffy the Vampire Slayers, or anything related to either show.
Notes: Takes place during Season 2 of V. Mars, post season 7 of Buffy. Angel and characters from his shows WILL be randomly joining us for this, but too many things annoyed me about the show (though I loved it dearly) and I am changing it to fit my fancy.
Changes to Angel: Cordy does not die (though she is part demon and still gets visions) and is partnered with Angel (who has had his soul permanently attached.) Fred and Gunn are together, there is no Illyria. Connor does not exist (though I love him dearly) and Lorne is the coolest demon ever. Wesley and Spike are as usual.

Veronica knocked on the door in front of her, looking over her shoulder to note how very cute her dirty lebaron looked beside the brand new red convertible beside it. She truly did love her little black car though, it not only had personality, but it had saved her life on a few occasions. There was loud laughter going on somewhere, it sounded as though a one Dawn Summers might be a part of it. Veronica raised an eyebrow and rang the doorbell, noting that the laughter got louder as bodies moved closer to the other side of the door. Curious.

"Veronica!" Dawn cheered, holding open the door. Veronica walked past her and was pleased to note that she matched the three women in her jeans and t-shirt.

"Dawn, and Kendall Casablancas?" She shot a slightly confused look at the curvy brunette. She'd gotten a haircut recently since Veronica had seen her a few days ago and her hair had still curled down her back.

"The right initials anyway, Cordelia Chase, this is Fred Burkle," The brunette told her, giving her an odd smile.

"Casablancas as in Surfer-Bum extraordinaire?" Dawn asked with a confused frown. Veronica laughed uncomfortably.

"That would be the one, you look exactly like his bitchy trophy-step-mom," Veronica told Cordy. Cordelia gave a huge smile.

"Oh I'm bitchy, but I am no ones trophy," Cordelia informed her, refusing to remember that there was a time she would have grabbed the chance and run with it. After all, she was a bigger person now.

"Back to this Kendall person ... how similar do they look?" Fred asked curiously as she led them to the kitchen were she'd made nachos.

"Freakishly alike. Except for the hair, Kendall's is long and curly," Veronica clarified, glancing back at the woman behind her. She missed the calculating look that Cordy suddenly got in her eyes.

"Here's the food, did you bring the tape?" Dawn asked, stuffing a nacho with the full fixings into her mouth. Veronica smiled deviously, holding up a jewel case with a DVD inside.

"Digitized and cleaned my friend," Veronica said happily, glad to have decided on coming over. Dawn was turning out interesting in a non-crime related way. Like Mac and Wallace. She needed more friends like that. A quick glance at the petite Fred with her sweet drawl saw the woman scarfing Nacho's like a mad woman.

"Fred eats everything in sight, don't worry about it," Cordelia told the petite blond, snagging some nachos for herself. If she hadn't already figured out Cordy and Kendall were two different people that would have clinched it. Kendall Casablancas, put something with calories in her mouth? Come on now.

Dawn snatched the DVD from Veronica and popped it into the player that was set up in the breakfast area, the wall mounted LCD screen lighting up as Veronica's phone camera worked it's magic.

"It's funny, I've never gone after your boyfriend, he seems to like talking to me. Maybe it's our difference in," Dawn paused to send a pointed glance at Madison's pastel pink sun dress and at her own ensemble, "...personalities?"

Cordy laughed at Dawn's comment, "Seriously, that dress is so late ninety's," The brunette disparaged.

"Is that what they're calling it these days?" Logan's amused tones carried over the crowd that had assembled. Madison was almost purple with anger as she glared at Dawn. The anger was replaced by a cold mask as she flicked off the coffee lid on her cardboard cup and threw the contents on Dawn.

"Sorry about that, I'm a klutz sometimes," Madison said smugly. Dawn pulled her sopping sweater and top off in an attempt to stop the scalding liquid from burning her any more and glared at Madison, who at least had the intelligence to back up a step.

"Well that was obviously not an accident," Fred said huffily.

"That's why I brought it over, so Madison's dad can't get Dawn kicked out of school.

"This is going to make his wallet a little lighter actually," Cordelia informed her, the dark eyes glinting.

"I have the receipts!" Dawn cheered as the focused on the tape again, they'd missed principal Clemmons' entrance.

"I tripped and spilled my coffee on Dawn here," Madison started at Clemmons' look of obvious disbeliif. Dawn gave her a blinding smile and turned to Clemmons.

"It was really hot, I mean the coffee, look how pink my skin got," Dawn gestured to her chest, where the skin was indeed bright pink.

"We all think it was a good idea she took off the shirt," Dick added from the crowd.

"I am really sorry about that," Madison said flatly. Dawn gave her another blinding smile and landed a right hook straight into the girls nose. Madison went down, shrieking with pain.

"Oh oh oh, rewind, I want to see it again," Fred cheered happily. Cordelia was only to happy to oblige, chuckling herself.

"Don't think this means we condone school violence, but she totally deserved that," She told Dawn.

"The shirt deserved vengeance," Dawn agreed.

"You know what my favorite part is? The smile. That big bright smile, not even the eyes hinting at the violence about to ensue," Veronica smiled happily, a faux-sappy smile on her face.

"What can I say, I'm talented," Dawn agreed.

"I hope I'm there to catch the next act of the Dawn and Maddison show," Veronica said with a hopeful sigh.

"She'll likely stay away now that she's getting a new nose," Dawn shrugged.

"And Daddy gets the bill for the clothes," Fred added.

"Pause for a moment. The underlying root of this evil is Dick having the hots for you, which I forsee getting worse since you stood up to the girl he's afraid to stand up to," Veronica said, holding her hands in the air.

"Dick?" Fred asked, wrinkling her nose and looking over to Dawn.

"I think there's something you forgot to mention girlie," Cordy stared at the teen, piercing the girl with her gaze. She had withheld gossip from Queen C, she would have all information wrung out of her skinny little frame before the night was over.

"You have no idea what evil you have set loose," Dawn said tiredly, looking back at Cordy with a sheepish smile.
