"Around you, I don't feel thirty," Spike hummed. "I don't feel three hundred."

"Ooh, Spike," he said, falsetto. "That's so lovely. Why don't we get together, naked?"

"I'm not really your friend," he sang, building to a crescendo. "I'm your lover!"

"Spike?" came Buffy's voice. Spike hid the dolls.

"Pet," he lied, spotting the little zombie bird. "I'm just making little clothes for the pigeon?"

"Oh. Did you make the bird too?"

"Nope. I'll tie this little Spike coat to a collar so it can hang over his shoulder."

"Why the dress?"

"Can't tell the sex. Just covering the bases."
