Chapter Two: The Past

The next time anyone saw Ana, was three days later. She had been avoiding everyone since her and Willow’s conversation in the library. Even Mrs. Black had, amongst her rants, told everyone to bugger off and leave Ana alone. It seemed that Mrs. Black had a soft spot for the young witch. She had also allowed the woman to stay in her personal suite, which Mrs. Black had not inhabited for close on twenty-five years.

The Weasley twins; an incredibly sneaky pair, had found out, somehow, that Sirius had been following Ana in his Animagus form since she had arrived. It was quite funny because Ana saw him on one of her trips around the house. She sighed, transformed into a brilliant emerald green and black phoenix and disappeared in an eruption of black flames. Sirius, in his dog form, looked around for a while before returning to his human form.

The next thing he knew, he was soaked through and Ana was standing in front of him with an old bucket that was dripping water on the hard wood floor of the study. He glared at her, watching as she smiled and dropped the bucket, turning and running through the house as Sirius ran after her. Both of them laughed joyfully as Sirius chased Ana into his mother’s old room.

“No Sirius!” Ana screamed happily as Sirius tackled her and began tickling her ribs. Willow and Remus appeared at the door, with worried looks on their faces, before relaxing once they had seen what was happening. Laughing, they sat on the bed beside Ana who was panting loudly and Sirius who was siting on the end of the bed. The four sat and quickly sobered from their mirth. Remus looked at Ana carefully.

“Why haven’t you told Harry that you’re his aunt?” He asked, placing his hand on the younger woman’s. Ana looked away from the group and sighed.

“Dumbledore demands that I hold my tongue until Harry works it out or either of you tells him.” She said. Sirius inhaled sharply and turned to face the door.

“Harry James Potter!” he yelled, turning back to the group, who were looking at him curiously. A few seconds later, Harry appeared at the door with a questioning look on his face.

“Yeah Sirius?”

Sirius inhaled slowly and turned to his godson, indicating for the boy to sit. Harry sat down, well aware of the people looking at him intensly. Sirius sighed deeply before speaking.

“Remember how we were talking about Ana Potter the other day? The woman that was killed by death eaters, my fiance.” Sirius asked, looking at the boy hopefully. Harry nodded slowly.

“Well, it appears that she wasn’t killed,” Remus continued for Sirius, “She was sent back in time and renamed, Buffy Summers.”

Harry’s head turned sharply to Ana.

“Of course, you’re Ana Potter!!! But…..but that means that the other day, when Dumbledore asked about my parents…he was doing that just to hurt you!” he said, his eyes filled with swirling dark green light. The four older wizards gasped as Harry literally began to crackle with magic. Suddenly the magic disippated and Hary fell to the floor in heap.

“Harry!” Sirius said, moving from the bed and dropping to his knees beside Harry, who seemed to be comatose. Remus spoke suddenly,

“His magic has been reacting strangely for the last few days. He gets angry and then his magic just….dissipates. As if there is an unbreakable block on his magic, stopping it from reaching beyond a certain point,”

Willow and Ana looked at each other suddenly, and then Ana nodded. The blonde witch didn’t even blink as she pushed Sirius away from Harry. Ana placed her hand over Harry’s eyes and closed her eyes in concentration.

Sirius, Willow and Remus looked on uncertainly as Harry and Ana began to glow pale green. A few seconds later, the glow faded and Harry was looking up at Ana with a smile on his face.

“Mum was beautiful!” he whispered as he sat up. Ana nodded and helped her nephew to his feet. Harry surprised Ana; he turned to her and hugged her tightly, breathing in deeply. Soon; Willow, Remus and Sirius had joined the hug, and Harry; who was stuck in the middle; was beginning to lose his breath.

“Umm, guys! I can’t breath!” Harry said, gasping slightly. Immediately, the others pulled away, and apologised. Harry laughed it off and then joined the others in discussing the upcoming term at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Later that night, Ana and Willow walked down the stairs and entered the kitchen just as Harry sat down at the table, and began filling his plate. Sitting at the table already, were two red heads, twins, who had mischievous twinkles in their eyes. Molly saw Ana and Willow looking at the twins curiously and smiled.

“Ana, Willow meet Fred and George, our sons!” Molly gushed happily, she was obviously proud of her sons. Ana and Willow greeted the teens politely.

“Ah, but our mother is wrong! Our names are Gred and Forge!” This made the table laugh. The brothers grinned before returning to their meal. Throughout supper, Fred and George entertained the occupants of the table. They had slipped Dumbledore some lemon drops that made his hair turn bright colours.

Dumbledore remained eating his food, aware of his hair, and ignored the laughter of the younger wizards. Harry, Ana and Willow were laughing the hardest, Harry was oblivious to the criticizing glare he was receiving from Hermione. After supper was finished, Fred and George began a prank war. Sirius and Remus worked together against Willow and Ana, who had her clothes jinxed to be a large yellow duck suit. Everyone participated in the prank war, even Molly; who usually frowned upon the behaviour of her children. The war ended when Dumbledore called for the Order meeting that was schelduled for that night.

Ana sighed heavily, closing the door to her room behind her. Even after such a long time, playing around with her friends the way she had, stirred something within her that she thought she had left behind.

“Ahn?”

Ana turned to the door and opened it enough for her head to be seen by who ever was outside. Cordelia and Willow were standing there, with grim expressions on their faces. Ana opened the door the rest of the way and let her friends into her room. She noticed that her friends were unusually subdued.

“What’s wrong with you guys?” she asked, looking at her friends in concern. Cordelia shook her head and then looked at her feet, very unlike the strong pureblood witch she was. Willow spoke hesitantly.

“Dumbledore requests that Cordy and I leave Grimmauld Place so we do not corrupt Harry and his friends,” she said, looking at Ana sadly. ‘WHAT! How could he do that?’ Ana thought angrily.

“Where are you going to go?” she asked, sitting on the bed beside Willow. The red head shrugged; she didn’t really know where they were meant to go.

“He wasn’t too clear. He just wants us out of the house,” Cordelia said, glaring at the door. Ana nodded and lowered her head. The room was silent for a minute before Ana spoke abruptly.

“Go with Severus, he’ll take you to Spinner’s End. From there, follow the dirt path from his back door, it’ll take you into the hills, where there’s a small cottage, it’s mine. You can stay there until I can convince Dumbledore to let you return.” Ana said, holding out her hand to Willow; who grasped the pendants that Ana was holding.

In her hands, Willow now held two pendants. The two pendants were a deer with jasper for its eyes and a lioness with smoky quartz eyes. Cordelia, who had watched the exchanged with interest, looked at her childhood friends in worry.

“Do you really think that they’ll be needed?” she asked worriedly, “None of us are on good terms with him anymore!”

Ana sighed, she had no idea what would happen in the following weeks.
“Cor, I have no idea. Dumbledore is obviously up to his old tricks and until we know how far he’s willing to take it, we must be prepared for anything.” She said, standing up and hugging her friends tightly as they left her room.

Once she had seen her friends off, after giving careful instructions to Severus; who was hesitant to help her; Ana returned to the kitchen, where Dumbledore was sitting with Remus and Sirius.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing Dumbledore?” Ana asked calmly, as she sat down in front of her old head master. Dumbledore remained emotionless as he enquired as to what she meant. Sirius and Remus looked at each other in curiosity as Ana voiced the reasons for Willow and Cordelia’s departure. Once Sirius heard what had happened, he looked at Dumbledore in anger.

“Last time I checked, yesterday I might add, this house is in my and Harry’s name and never in its existence has The Ancient and Noble House of Black belonged to the Dumbledore Family. So why in Merlin’s name do you think you’re allowed to tell my friends to leave?” Sirius asked, pinning the old wizard with a murderous glare.

“I understand that Sirius, really I do, but as Harry’s guardianship was given to me, I must look out for him and do what is in his best interest. Miss Chase and Miss Rosenberg would have corrupted the boy, with their strong views on the dark magicks.” Dumbledore replied, getting up from his seat and bidding them goodnight.

Ana gave a frustrated huff after Dumbledore disappeared with a slight crack. Sirius glared at the table and Remus sighed, as he got up and grabbed some things from the cupboards. When he sat back down, the others saw that he had grabbed a bottle of glowing red liquid and three shot glasses.

“Remus, you old dog, where did you get Veela wine?” Ana asked surprised that her old friend would have something so precious lying around where anyone could take it. Veela wine was incredibly rare and only those with ties to the Veela clan could even purchase it.

“If you do recall, a certain summer holiday, we went away and gathered some supplies. These are just the leftovers.” Remus said with a slight happiness obvious in his voice as he poured them some shots of the glowing alcohol. On the count of three, they threw back the shots and groaned as the liquid numbed their throats momentarily.

A few hours, and quite a few shots, later, Harry entered the kitchen for a quick snack before bed. He found the older wizards laughing merrily over a picture album they had found somewhere. He walked over to the group and leaned over Sirius’ shoulder and saw that they were looking at a group picture. It contained them, Harry’s parents, Willow, Cordelia and Lucius Malfoy. The group looked serene on the Quidditch pitch at Hogwarts. The men were on broomsticks, Cleansweep 5’s Harry thought, hovering above the girls who were in bikinis.

“How old were you all back then?” Harry asked, startling them. Sirius looked up, squinting to see his godson clearly.

“Oh Harry!! Sit down, sit down,” he said, clumsily pulling a chair out and indicating for Harry to sit down. Harry re-asked his question once he had settled down.

“Oh,” Ana said, “We were all in third year, I think, that’s when Cordelia was going out with your dad, and Lily was going out with Sirius. I made the mistake of going out with Lucius Malfoy.” She slurred the last few words before turning the page, revealing a picture of the Slytherin Common Room and some other people.

“That’s me, Cordy and Willow, with Severus, Lucius, Bellatrix, Narcissa and Andromeda” Ana said, sighing. She had despised Narcissa and Bellatrix but they were Severus’ friends.

The group continued looking through the album, and drinking, until Severus walked into the kitchen, snarling about their noise. Then they went to bed, stumbling drunkenly through the halls.

Harry groaned as he woke up. Today was a special day to him and his partner, who he wouldn't see until the beginning of the next school term began. He reached over to his bedside table and grabbed the large photo frame that stood there.

Looking at the picture, Harry smiled. His fiance was gorgeous in the picture. His blonde hair glowed in the moonlight and his mercury eyes glittered in happiness. In the picture, his fiance was wearing a tight pair of black converse, black jeans with a red studded belt and a tight red shirt.

Harry stood up as a thought entered his mind. Hopefully Ana would be able to help him. He quickly changed and ruffled his hair, before leaving his room. Harry ran from the second floor to the fourth floor and Ana's room, before stopping in uncertainty.
