Timeline: Season 4, Wild At Heart-ish.

Author’s Notes: Yeah, I know… I’m doing too many fics at the same time… But this idea pops up every single time I hear a freakin’ guitarsolo. I mean come on… Look at Faith. If she doesn’t scream out some type of rock I don’t even wanna know what universe you’re living in. This’ll probably be updated sporadically; I’ve got more fics to worry about.

A/N2: I am not going to deny my addiction to music. Either you like/love it or you just click the little ‘x’ in the top right corner.

Chapter One

“Faith, wake up.”

“Fuck.” Faith shot up straight in her bed, breathing heavily with small drops of sweat dripping from her forehead. She looked around her surroundings and sighed happily when she was still in the motel room her and her friends inhabited.

“You okay? You were screaming again.” Julian, the only one Faith would call friend in public, asked concerned. His bright green eyes tried to catch Faith’s chocolate ones but the brunette looked away.

“Five by five.” She replied indifferent as she got out of the bed they shared. They weren’t lovers. Faith never wanted lovers; she had one-nightstands but no lovers. Julian was neither one of them, he was more than that. He was her best friend, her brother. Not that she’d ever tell him that or even show that he meant a great deal to her.

“Don’t lie to me.” He said firmly. Faith stopped in her tracks but didn’t look at him. “You had another nightmare. The Watchers again?” He asked. Julian knew about Faith being the Slayer, that’s how he met the tough brunette, almost six years ago. He saw her fighting two vampires and managed to help her out. She was new to the Slaying and didn’t get the whole secret thing so she told him everything she knew, much to her Watcher’s disliking but he kept it a secret and often went out patrolling with her.

“Where’s the rest?” She asked noticing the empty bed and sleeping bag. Normally she and Julian were up while the other three band members were still snoring their way through dream world.

“They’re having breakfast.” He said and got out of the bed. “Was it the Watchers again?” He asked again. Faith finally looked at him and shrugged slightly.

“That and my dad.” She replied then grabbed her bag, pulling out some clean clothes. “And somethin’ freaky too.” She furrowed her brows as she recalled the last part of her dream.

“What?” Julian questioned. He had been up for hours. After breakfast he had gone for a run and then just as Matt and Pete had woken up he claimed the shower. When he got out of the shower Jimmy just woke up because of Faith’s screaming. Knowing Faith’s mood when waking her up Jim got the hell out of the room, leaving Julian to deal with Faith’s nightmare.

“Some kinda Robocop but with demon parts.” Faith replied a little puzzled. She had seen a lot of demons in her years of being a Slayer but nothing like the one in her dream. She was kind of hoping she wouldn’t ever see him again, in her dreams or in real life.

“Think it’s a Slayer thing?” He asked sitting on the bed. When Faith first realized she was free from the Watchers Council she attempted to start a normal life but the Slayer inside her was just too strong. So Julian helped her control the Slayer but whenever it was just Faith against vampires or demons, the Slayer took full control. Whenever that happened Faith was gone, it was just the raw power of the Slayer.

“I know it is ‘cause the other Slayer was there too.” Faith was getting more confused by the second. She knew there was another Slayer. The Council had managed to kill her but thanks to her savior she wasn’t anymore. When the Council didn’t come after her, she knew it was because another Slayer was already called and they believed they had successfully killed her. And thanks to a favor she called in with a Gypsy clan they had her flying under the radar.

“The other Slayer?” Julian sat up a little straighter at Faith words. “Did you see her?” They always wondered who’d be the next Slayer. Faith thought it was someone stronger than her because that’s how she thought it worked, when one Slayer wasn’t strong enough the primordial force left to find a new girl that was stronger.

“No, Robodemon was in the way.” Faith replied shrugging. “I’m gonna get a shower, then we’ll hit the road.” That’s all they ever did. Drive to a town, play a gig or two then leave for another town. They didn’t do it for the money or the fame, though the money part was really handy, they just did it for the thrill of being on stage. Always wondering if they were good enough, loving the applause at the end of their performance, just the fun of playing music. So far, they’d been on the road for almost two years. Nobody cared they were that far away from home, every one of them was a runaway.

“I’ll get you some breakfast to go.” Julian called out as Faith entered the bathroom before grabbing his and Faith’s bag. The others would soon get their bags as well and then they were off to Sunnydale.

-:-TUYRF-:-

Faith opened the door to the motel room she shared with Julian and threw her bags on the bed. They had been able to get two rooms for the same price as one room in any other town. Faith just figured it was because Sunnydale was a freakish little town with no tourism whatsoever.

“Are we gonna check out the local club later on?” Julian asked entering the motel room right behind Faith, throwing his bags on the bed as well. He found it just a bit odd that wherever they went they always seemed to get one bed for the two of them.

“Yeah, you know how Matt gets if his drums aren’t set up with good thought about it.” Faith smirked and took out her guitar from its case, checking it over to see if everything was still in order. “You sure we’re playing tomorrow?” She asked not looking up from her precious Ibanez JS1000. It was her baby; she had been saving up for it ever since she had a guitar in her hands.

“Yeah, I called them last night while you were out.” Julian replied grinning at the way Faith treated her guitar. He understood, he was the same with is Gibson but still, Faith could overdo it. “Did you get anything last night?”

“Nah, not even a freakin’ newbie.” Faith said sounding disappointed. She hoped Sunnydale would give her some more action. She hadn’t slain anything in four days and she was itching to slay something, anything.

“Is it just me or does this town give some weird vibes?” Julian involuntarily rubbed his arm as he stared out the window. He didn’t know what it was but it felt the same like when they were in Cleveland. It was like a pull that wasn’t letting go.

“It’s not you but that means more slaying for me.” Faith replied grinning as she placed her guitar back in its casing. She got up and flexed her sore muscles from driving for two hours in their minivan. “Come on, band meeting or whatever.” She grabbed Julian’s hand and dragged him out of the motel room.

-:-TUYRF-:-

Faith was buzzing with energy. It was only an hour past sunset and she had already staked three vampires. Next to her Julian was a little less energized. He wanted to tag along with Faith and ended up fighting a vampire. He didn’t mind, he just got tired when fighting whilst Faith just got energized.

“Jules, check it out.” Faith whispered pulling Julian behind a tombstone. They watched as some commandos zapped a vampire and then dragged him away from the scene. “What the fuck is with this freak town?” She mused aloud and tried to follow them but Julian stopped her.

“Three guys you can handle but what if there are a lot more of them? I don’t wanna see you on the other end of that electrocuting gun.” He hissed. Faith seemed to think about it and Julian praised himself lucky that the Slayer wasn’t in control now or Faith would’ve been dragging him after those soldier-types.

“Fine, we’ll go to that Bronze place.” Faith sighed defeated and went in the direction they came from, where they had dropped of the others. She really hoped it was some decent music, she needed to burn some energy and now Julian had spoiled her fun of going after those commandos she wanted to dance.

“I love Sunnydale.” Faith exclaimed when they entered the local club. Julian looked at her like she had just lost her mind, wondering what that was all about all of a sudden. Faith smirked and pointed to the stage where a young woman was singing then pointed to a young man with spiky hair at one of the tables.

“Werewolves.” She stated then closed her eyes and took a deep breath, her grin widening. She opened her eyes again and shot Julian an almost evil grin “There’s like five vampires in here.” Her heart started racing at the very thought of wanting to slay all of them, tonight.

-:-TUYRF-:-

It was almost one in the morning and Faith was still at the Bronze. She still had one vampire to slay but she was too focused on the lead singer of the band that was playing tonight. They had stopped playing about half an hour ago but they were still in the club.

“Faith, yo, still with us?” Matt, their drummer, asked while waving his hand in front of Faith. Matt might look like a real bad boy but he was everything but that. He wasn’t tall, about 5'6'' with tattoos covering his arms and neck. He was a real lazy bastard; he hated fixing his hair so at some point in the two years they’d been on the road he had shaven his head and every four weeks he would ask any of them to shave his head again, as long as he didn’t have to do it.

“Yeah, five by five.” She got up glancing towards the blonde that had stood up as well. “I’m gonna do a little run and head back. You guys take the van; I’ll see ya in the morning.” She didn’t bother to stay for an answer she just left the club, waiting in the darkness of the alley waiting for the lead singer.

She didn’t have to wait long when the young woman exited the building alone. Faith realized not all werewolves were bad but she had a bad feeling about this one. She wasn’t going to attack her now. No, she wanted to observe her, see how she behaved while she was human. The blonde sniffed the air and growled in Faith’s direction but didn’t come after her. Faith couldn’t help but smirk at the werewolf in its human form. Then after several minutes the young woman walked away. Faith thought about following her but was distracted by a movement behind her.

“Guess you saved me the trouble of coming after you.” Faith said smirking as she turned around coming face-to-face with the last vampire that was left in the Bronze before he exited the club.

“You have a death wish, girl?” The vampire snarled unaware of Faith being the Slayer. The brunette grinned widely in response and pulled out a stake from her booth faster than a human eye could register.

“Yeah,” she replied before letting her Slayer take over, her brown eyes replaced by golden ones. “Yours.” She growled. The vampire looked at the brunette in shock when realization dawned on him. This was a Slayer but nothing like he had heard about the blonde Slayer.

She came at him full force but moving more swiftly then he’d ever seen anything move before. She came at him with a high kick, hitting the vampire hard in his neck knocking him to the ground. While the vampire got back up the Slayer, Faith was merely the body the Slayer inhabited right now, had rounded him and back-handed him hard against its ears. This vampire was no match for the Slayer and both of them knew it. The vampire growled angrily and looked around for a way to get away from the brunette but the Slayer wouldn’t let him. She was alone but she was everywhere he looked. When he had enough of her playing he anticipated her moving to his side but miscalculated his swing speed. The primal Slayer grabbed his fist and twisted it, reveling in hearing the bone snap. Still holding the vampire’s fist she pulled hard, causing the vampire to run face first in the wall.

“You knew you never had a chance.” It came from Faith’s mouth but the voice was much deeper than Faith’s. The vampire growled trying to crawl away from the Slayer. Faith’s mouth twisted in a grin and she purred satisfying as she plunged the stake in the vampire’s heart.

“You know,” A voice said from the lit part of the alley. “When you get all prehistoric, you kinda scare me sometimes.” Faith grinned at Julian. She had given her Slayer her fun but it was time for Faith to be in control. The Council always said that the Slayer is one person. They couldn’t have been more wrong. A Slayer is always two persons, they just need to work together and so far Faith had that down perfectly. When the Slayer was in control Faith felt and experienced everything her body was experiencing but it wasn’t really her yet it did feel like she was a whole person.

A/N: The more I thought about Kiwikatipo’s review the more I (grudgingly) realized it had a valid point so I cut the original introduction. Let that be a lesson (or hint…) for all of you, I tend to think long and hard about the reviews you give me. So if you review, don’t confuse me please? It has happened that a review I didn’t quite get kept me up all night…
