It Could Happen

Chapter 1- Dawn Was Bleeding

Dawn fruitlessly drives her body against her cherry wood coffin wall increasing the numbers of cuts and gashes to her skin. The vacuum tight lid does not to give up its resistance to any type of movement from the victim inside it. She kicks her legs and her fingers claw the wood above her. In doing so, Dawn’s fingers drip blood on to her chest as her fingers peal open from her attempts to free herself. Her skin on her fingers is begins to peel back even more showing her finger bones. Her cries are do not register outside the coffin. As her body shifts, the coffin moves with her.

Her long brown hair tosses into to what looks like a rat’s nest as soaks up blood from her small pillow below her. The smell of her own blood makes her furious with need to kill something.
Dawn wonders how much blood she lost for a second. The next second, she hits the roof of the coffin again giving her hands no time to heal. The pink pajama top clings to her as her body twists and turns. Her bruises on her legs are increased in number as she moves and kicked the sides of the coffin. Even with no hope of escaping her coffin Dawn still kicks and scratches to free herself.

Streams of blood trickle from her bloody fingers when she continues her assault on her coffin lid. Red gashes and drops of her own blood still hit her face leaving streams of blood down connecting with her face. The soft silk fabric beneath her did not put up much of a fight as the lid itself.

Dawn slips several times in her blood trying to kick the coffin lid open. The silk sheets blow her in the coffin stick to her back making a slushy sound.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Her fists punch the coffin making it jump. Her body turns and twists in an effort to continue her assaults on the lid.

Buffy shouts from her perch on top of the coffin as her hands grippes the lid for dear life. “Willow, Do It Now!” Buffy fights the offending coffin riding it like a bucking bronco in with none of the flare of a Spanish bull fighter. She does not mean to shout but her fight with a coffin made her want to kill something. However, there is nothing to kill. The offending coffin holds something that she wants to keep safe. Furthermore, the object of her tireless hate is a coffin and not a vampire. Buffy begins to pray that it is not too late to save her vampire sister, Dawn.

It takes all of her strength to keep the lid from not opening. Riding a coffin does not come with a manual. Coffin riding should be a sport, Buffy decides to herself.
Buffy’s head hits the ceiling of the car. If anyone had a pill to take the pain way right now she might kiss them. “Darn coffin! My head hurts.” Her left hand rubs he sore head while the other grippes the coffin lid as she tries not to slide off.

Willow is seating in the passenger seat next to Spike. She looks through all her books for that spell that puts souls back into vampires. One of these days, she will write that spell down for future reference, Willow deduces quietly. The pages made their soft paper sounds as she sifts through them.

Willow licks her lips as she turns another page. Willow concludes that she should keep the post-it note(TM) on the page for future reference. She secretly hopes to never again put another soul in a vampire. The mere power of the act of placing a soul in a vampire made her thirst for more power.

Spike is seating in the driver’s seat driving like a mad man. This is because a coffin is hitting the back of his seat. The coffin did not leave much space to drive a car. His legs are scrunched up against the steering wheel. He is wondering if his legs will soon tighten up sending them into the truck ahead of them. Spike tries to get into a better position for tenth time but fails. Then, the coffin hits his seat.

Willow holds up an orb as high as she can tries not to scrap her knuckles on the roof of the car. “Spike, stop driving like that!” As she tries to keep a hold of the orb, she starts to chant. Her fingers keep a firm grip on the orb as she bounces up and down in the passenger seat. Her hands sweat as the energy from her body and the orb activate. Being hit on the head with a glass orb right at this second would not be the best idea. Willow pays close attention to keep the orb from falling out of her hands.

This particular item might kill if she drops it. For example, Willow knows that a simple warming charm will burn a hole threw her hand if she does wear gloves when activating it. This was no warming charm. Orbs are unpredictable. They have more dark uses ones that can heal or protect.
Yes, Willow knows evil. She hopes that her body is pure enough to make such a pure soul like Dawn’s soul return. Pure souls like Dawn’s were reserved for to go to Heaven not stay on Earth. Would the evil that posses Dawn fall away and give into the light? Willow holds onto the now sweaty orb.

Angel attempts to keep his eyes on the road as rain pounds the roof of the U-Haul(TM). It is hard to believe how everyone would fit into that car, least of all with a coffin in it, ahead of him. Also, with Buffy’s temper he did not complain about his pick of vehicle to drive.

He chooses the U-Haul for a reason. Angel though this is the right chooses for a calm ride without any noise or distractions. Faith choose to set beside him in the U-Haul when everyone choice their seating arrangements. Neither of them wanted to suffer the wraith of Buffy.
Faith calls Spike on her cell phone and leaves a message. “Spike, there must be one pot-hole that you did not hit, yet.” Faith starts to get comfortable but Angel turns the radio station to some sort of soft music. She cannot stand his choice of station, nor would she be awake for long. Her mind cannot help fix on the car ahead of them.

Angel yells at Faith for the second time to keep her boots on the floor and not out the window. Angel did not want her being comfortable in a situation like this one. At least, that is what Faith tells herself.

The car swerves as the coffin hit the back of Spike’s seat. By this time, he wants to smash the coffin open and tell Dawn to stop moving around. That is impossible because he cannot bring himself to face Dawn. He still wishes that Dawn’s turning did not take place. He still wants to see Dawn as a human and not a vampire.

Depression sets in as thoughts of Dawn flow into his mind. Why did this come to be, he thinks to himself, the powers are so cruel to let someone like Dawn turn into a vampire.
“Buffy keep that lid tight.” Spike says as he tries to focus on the road. He does not want to think about how no one could save Dawn. Even more so, he did not want to think about how long it took them to try to save her.

Willow chants until light exits from her mouth. Her eyes go black, her skin goes pale and words echo as the orb glows in a brilliant white light. “Willow we can’t have her going back to her, Master,” Buffy cries. The roof of the car does not stop the light that exits Willow. The light becomes a beckon of supernatural energy.

Today, a soul will enter back into a vampire. Dawn would have a soul even if Willow will have no choice but to give up her own sanity.

Willow speaks some more, adding to the spell, as the light leaves the car with an even brighter light. If the spell works, Dawn will have a soul. Not only will she have a soul, Dawn and her master will not know each other. Dawn will not even sense his presents.

The last part of the spell can be broken but for now Willow is pleased with the spell. It would take time to remember. Willow hopes that Dawn will want to stay with them and not her master.
Inside the coffin, Dawn feels something change about her body and all goes silent for her. She proceeds to faint from the loss of blood. Dawn’s body shivers as it is cold and hot at the same time. Her eyes roll back as her fingers do not stop dripping blood.

----Flashback-----------10 years ---

This is not Dawn’s first trip to Europe. But, it is her first time on a trip along with her sister. Her mind fills with stories about unknown artists painting on the streets of Europe.
Would she have enough time to paint herself? Her eyes twinkle as she thinks of all the fabulous sights she will find.

How many museums would she be able to visit? Most of all Dawn wants to set with her sister, spending all day talking, acting like tourists, laughing, and shopping until late at night.
Dawn and Buffy decide to go the hotel to drop of their luggage. That only takes a few seconds before they both are ready to leave the hotel and explore.

Buffy and Dawn bring their sketch books with them. They debate on what they want to draw. “Dawn, we are going to have fun. No slayers. No worrying about anything but us for a full week. Think of it, Dawn, we can catch up on everything. (dramatic pause) And, we can shop.” Buffy wants to convince herself that a slayer can have fun without killing vampires. The only ghosts on this trip are the ones that don’t fallow her home or try to kill her.

With a smile on her face, Dawn takes out her ebony pencil. “Ok, you will be my first model.” This is the perfect idea of what to draw, Dawn thought to herself. Drawing the picture first is the best way to start instead of carrying all of her painting gear with her.

Buffy tosses her hair acting like a high class fashion model. Her high heels hit the pavement with a scratching sound. “This is my better side.” She sets down and crosses her legs to the side.

Dawn giggles, starting to draw her sister. “Perfect.” It takes more than a few minutes. Dawn does not want to make a quick sketch of her sister. She wants to get in some details, as well, so that she can trace over the sketch.

Buffy tastes her tea like a queen as Dawn finishes the drawing. “Is this not lovely?” Buffy bats her eyelashes.

Buffy stands up than proceeds to walk out the door like a run way model. Dawn smirks as she holds her sketch book to her chest.

At the hotel, to the left of Dawn a man whispered, “Mam-.” Before, Dawn can turn around a man steals her away to a place unknown. Her sketchbook drops to the floor.

“I will take care of you my kitten.” Dawn finds herself with some stranger. He puts some sort of trance on her and she finds that she did not want to move.

Dawn begins to think is the most handsome man in the world and he wants her. This mind trick worked well with so many.

Her mind becomes overwhelmed with thoughts that make her blush. Do men often do this to pretty young women?

In the back of her mind, she wants to flee. She wants to run to get her sister. This can’t happen to her. Will it? No, Buffy will find her. Buffy will save her. “We will be home, soon.”
He leans over and kisses her neck. His fangs pierce her skin and she drank from his exposed wrist. “Soon, my kitten we will be home.”

Dawn finds that she cannot resist the man. Her body relaxes against him as she passes out.

Please, tell me if I have any errors. You are not being mean.

Other crossover in the future, Anita Blake, Dark Hunters.

My own thoughts.

I really don't think that Dawn could be turned into a vampire. But, I have wondered what would happen if she did turn.

This fanfic takes place years before the case that made vampires legal in the Anita Blake world. (That case takes place two years before the first books timeline.) Also, this fanfic takes place before Anita has ever met Edward.
