Prologue
A sweat soaked Xander awoke from a continuous nightmare he had been having for the past week about his past before he had arrived in Sunnydale all those years ago. Xander had been keeping a very dark secret from the rest of the Scooby’s about his past that he would never willingly tell them, even after he and Willow found out about the real night life. Xander was so into keeping his secret he never showed that he was stronger, faster and even more skilled at fighting than Buffy was while they were slaying. He would use his full potential when he went out on his own to hunt and kill like he was trained to do. Xander was also really intelligent and could have easily graduated from high school or college years ago, but people only hi as he wanted them to as a class clown.
His secret was that he was a genetically engineered soldier created by a secret Government Company known as Manticore. Xander and his brother’s and sister’s were created by scientists who injected a cocktail of animal DNA into them; this made them stronger, faster, and many other things. Xander was a member of the X-5 series of transgenic soldiers, which had been given a lot more free will in their thinking then the other series. There were twenty X-5’s to a squad and Xander’s even thought of each other as brother and sister, even given each other names. Xander’s squad was trained by a retired army officer by the name of Donald Lydecker who they all hated; even though they could kill him easily they were all terrified of him after he had shot their sister Eva. All of Xander’s family wanted to escape from Manticore, and finally when Xander was about nine they used the training they had been given as soldier’s to escape.
Zac their oldest brother and also their CO took charge of the escape plan, as he was the oldest he thought he had the responsibility of making sure the rest of them were ok before looking after himself. Just before the escape had taken place another of Xander’s brother’s Ben brought out a card with a picture of the Blue Lady on it and all of them prayed to her to keep them all safe. Once they had made it to the perimeter of the base they were in they all split up so that they would not all get caught from the soldier’s hunting them down.
That was the last Xander had seen any of his brother’s or sister’s since the break out even his twin Max, he did not know if any of the rest of them had made it or were alive. Month’s after the break out Xander turned up in Sunnydale and had been there ever since.
On his journey’s he used his skills to rob places and by the time he got to California he had over two hundred thousand dollars in the bag he carried on his back. When he got to a city by the name of Los Angeles he got a room at a sleazy looking motel where he decided to stay until he figured out what to do. After about two weeks in down town L.A Xander decided to check out a law firm he had heard about that would to anything for you if you had the money. Hours, after arriving Xander left the office of Holland Manners with a new identity and a place to live in a small town called Sunnydale about two hours drive from L.A.
Xander started school a week after he arrived in Sunnydale where he quickly made friends with two kids called Jesse and Willow, his new identity was Alexander Lavelle Harris but still told his friends to call him Xander. By the time he had arrived in L.A Xander’s hair had gotten longer which had covered the barcode tattoo that indentified him as a Manticore soldier. Xander had decided from the start to not show anybody how smart he really is, as not to draw attention to himself as he knew that Lydecker and the rest of Manticore would be searching for the escapees.
Over the years Xander, Jesse and Willow had become best friends, at the age of sixteen A new girl by the name of Buffy had turned up and not long after they learned of what really stalked the night like vampire’s and demons , also About the slayer. Not long after this Jesse was taken and turned into a vampire which Xander ended up staking to save Cordelia who he did not like very much and the feeling was mutual.
Over the three years of slaying Xander started to feel that the other’s were trying to push him out as not to get hurt because they had never saw how he really fought and they all thought he got himself and the other’s in more harm than good. After graduation while the girl’s and Willow’s boyfriend Oz went to College, Xander decided to leave Sunnydale and try and locate his brother’s and sister’s he told the other’s he was just going on a road trip to see all fifty states and would be gone for a while.
After he said all his good byes he packed his stuff into his new black Mustang with a white stripe going over it and headed towards L.A. passing the sign you are now leaving Sunnydale or more like Sunnyhell more like he fought and smiled to himself as he left the Hellmouth for the first time in seven years.
