The sound of shouting echoed down the LuthorCorp corridor. In his office, Lex stared coolly at the young reporter confronting him. They had, as usual, been discussing Clark Kent and the peculiar frequency of fortunate coincidences that occurred in his presence. For some reason, Chloe Sullivan was more aggressive than usual today.

“-Clark is not a meteor freak,” she finished, slapping her hand on the desk for emphasis. The pair stared in shock as it split straight down the middle, though Lex had the presence of mind to flick a concealed switch on the side of his chair.

“That may well be the case, Miss Sullivan,” Lex murmured, as several heavily-armed guards entered the room. “But I'm going to have to ask you to come with us now, please.”
