Willow was nervous, because the stern look that Giles had on his face was one she’d only seen when the world was ending… or that one time Buffy crashed his car into a tree. Since then Buffy’s been banned from driving even the Council cars, due to liability and all.
Now, she felt like she was in the principal’s office, and that thought made her a little queasy cause she never really liked getting into trouble. Now she watched him as he paced back and forth in front of her, just behind his desk, a glass of scotch in his hand. Scotch… that was another bad sign.
“Yo, G,” said Faith as she strolled into the office, closing the door that had been open in front of her. She was in training clothes, which were a pair of gray cotton shorts and a sleeveless Red Sox t-shirt. With her hair up, she reminded Willow of a cheerleader and she snorted internally with the image of Faith with pom-poms.
“What’s going down? Had to leave Kennedy in charge of the SIT’s and we all, especially Red here, know how rough she can get.”
Willow blushed a bright red and Giles stumbled slightly in his pacing and Faith just grinned: happy to have made an awkward situation, before languidly sliding onto a chair.
“Y-yes,” stuttered Giles. “Well there are matters in England that concern the both of you.”
“Really?” asked Willow, straightening in her seat. She wasn’t in trouble, but the world may be. “What?”
“This is something I never thought I had to tell you. There… There is a whole other world out there, outside the human community…”
“Demons, vamps,” said Faith, sounding bored.
“Wizards and witches,” said Giles softly. “Not your kind of witchery, Willow, but a different one of sorts. A community that relies solely on magic and begins training at a young age to control the power within them.”
“What?” asked Willow. “I didn’t know anything about this…”
“No one except those within the community usually does. It’s a well-kept secret. Muggles, like us, are not to know of the world but when I joined the Council I came familiar with it.”
“What do they want with us?” asked Faith, her face serious.
“There’s a new, dark threat. One that may be as powerful as Voldemort.” Giles then explained to Willow and Faith who Voldemort had been and they seemed to be a little uneasy after hearing of his rap sheet from the attacks on someone named Harry Potter, to the deaths of thousands, to his final demise thanks to the powerful wizard, Harry.
“So these guys could be worse?” asked Faith. “What are we supposed to do?”
“They want you both, due to your power, to help their Aurors in defeating them. They’re hoping that if this does become something serious they can stop it before it carries on too long.”
“Aurors? And how can I help? I know nothing of magic,” said Faith.
“Slayers, in the Wizarding world, are held in high regards. Some feel threatened because slayers tend to be immune to any of their charms. You, Faith, are wanted for that reason, and the Ministry chose you above all.”
“Even B?” asked Faith, astonished.
“Yes, they did not want Buffy…”
“Huh…” Faith shrugged. “I’m in, its not every day you get to see a magical community. Plus, side bonus, I get to stick this to B…”
“You cannot say a word to her about this,” said Giles. “No one but us three here at the Council knows of the magical world. The only reason I’m telling you now is because we have permission from the Ministra of Magic to do so.”
“H-how could you keep this from us? From me?” asked Willow, begging for an answer with her eyes, which showcased how upset she really was.
“Willow…”
“No! No Giles! No excuses,” she said, voice trying to be strong, but wavering. “After all I went though…”
“Some things were best left unsaid,” he answered, making Willow’s face crumble.
“So what do we do now?” asked Faith, tense because she could feel the energy changing in the room and it was because of Willow. She hoped she didn’t go all crazy with rage over not knowing this; she really wasn’t up for clocking Willow in the face.
“We wait for the owl…”
“Owl?” asked Faith.
“It’s how they communicate. Or the Floo network through the fireplaces.”
“That’s… Weird,” said Faith. “So are these witches like Willow?”
“No,” said Giles. “They use wands.”
At this Faith burst out laughing and even Willow gave a small giggle.
“Wands?” gasped Faith, wiping the tears from her eyes. “Like bippity boppity boo wands?”
“One in the same,” said Giles, frowning. “Please do not comment on that, Faith. I do hope you try to be on your best behavior.”
“You know me, Giles,” said Faith.
“Yeah, he does,” said Willow, casting a look at Faith. “That’s the point.”
“Touché, Red.”
“When do we leave?” asked Willow, eyes downcast, making Giles sigh. He hoped he could earn her forgiveness sooner rather than later.
“I take it you are both interested?”
“Hell yeah,” said Faith.
“Me too,” said Willow.
“I’ll let them know of your decision,” said Giles. “Pack your things as discreetly as possible. I’ll inform you when it’s time to leave.”
“Where, exactly, is this Ministry of Magic?” asked Willow.
“London,” said Giles.
“Sweet,” said Faith, then she frowned. “We’re not going to have to end up liking tea, are we?”
“Oh, I like scones though!” said Willow, eyes a little lighter having forgotten that she was supposed to be mad at Giles.
“There’s no way I’m calling the can a loo…” said Faith. “And a car is a car not a trolley or whatever it is they call it over there…”
“Dear Lord,” grumbled Giles as he followed the two girls out of his office. “I will NOT be responsible of any of their actions overseas…”
Then, just as his office door closed, another opened revealing a young woman with long brunette hair and wide blue eyes. She wasn’t sure if she heard what she actually heard but now as she stood alone in the large office, the book she’d been looking for in the large closet clutched in her hands: she knew she hadn’t been mistaken.
“Holey Moley,” whispered Dawn Summers as she sank into the same chair Faith had just been sitting in, cursing her need to eavesdrop. “What am I supposed to do NOW?”

Faith looked at the four large bags she had on her bed, deciding in her mind what to bring. After changing into her favorite pair of hip hugger jeans and a dressier shirt of black silk that fell just above her waist and had slits up the arm of the shirt from the elbows to the upper part of her arm. She slipped on some flip-flops and ran her fingers through her hair. She looked presentable, since she decided to make an impression and all due to Giles.
Since becoming a part of the so called Scooby team she’d been given access to funds from the Council as well as the all clear in the judicial system thanks to Willow’s computer hacking skills. Buffy hadn’t really been on board about keeping her around, what with her record and all, but Giles and surprisingly Xander admitted that she would be useful in training the younger Slayers. She wondered how Buffy would take her leaving now… Not that she gave a damn what she thought anyway.
Opening one leather bag Faith dumped her favorite weapons in it from her crossbow to the wicked dagger she purchased in Louisiana. A couple stakes and a handheld ax was added and she zipped that bag up before opening a suitcase. There she tossed in numerous pairs of leather pants, skirts, and jeans. Sweat pants were her favorite piece of attire as of late so she made sure she had plenty of those as well. In the third went all her tops and intimates and the fourth held shoes and some odds and ends. Deciding she needed a fifth bag, Faith went into the bathroom with the smaller duffle to add all her toiletries until finally, the room looked as it was when she first entered.
Bare and boring.
Save for the wicked stereo, which Giles said would be useless there because they didn’t use electricity, THAT made Faith ready to change her mind all together but with assurances that they may be able to get a “flat” in London she decided that crossing her fingers would be the best option.
Sighing she sat on her comfortable bed and then laid back. She’s come a long way since Boston and that whole fuck-up in Sunnydale. Matured, or whatever you want to call it. With the help of Robin she got her head back on straight but when he asked her to follow him and Xander to South America she passed. First: could that BE any more awkward and two, she really didn’t like the look he’d been giving her since the fall of the hell mouth. The whole
‘I want to be with you, marry me and have my babies’ look that really put the final nail in the coffin of her dumping Robin. Well, not really dumping, more like ignoring his calls and e-mails.
Feeling a vibration she looked at her phone and sighed.
Speak of the devil…
“Hey,” she said, bringing the phone to her ear.
“Faith!” He was surprised, she could tell, it has been about three weeks. “How are you?”
“Good, you?”
“Fine, we just took out a nest in the village. Xander is getting tended to by the local Slayer.”
“I’m sure he’s loving that,” said Faith, smiling while closing her eyes. If she listened real closely she could hear the sounds of the jungle in the background. “So I’m going to be out of touch for a while…”
“What a surprise,” said Robin, and Faith sensed that he was upset. “Faith, I miss you…”
“Look, Robin, you and I… we’re just not working out.”
“Whose fault is that?” he asked.
“Mine, I know…” Faith sighed, eyes opening again to focus on her white ceiling. “Willow and I have to deal with something, I can’t say much cause its hush-hush, thought you should tell Xander that too incase she doesn’t get the chance to tell him…”
“I’ll be here when you get back,” said Robin. “Then we can really talk…”
“I’m sorry.” Then she hung up, tossing the phone to her side. She ignored it when it started ringing again and instead rubbed her face with her hands as if trying to wipe away the sudden tiredness she felt. “Damn it.”
She grabbed the phone, but the name on there wasn’t Robin. It was a number she didn’t recognize and she was tempted to let her voicemail get it but instead she answered.
“Yeah?”
“Stay away,” came the soft whisper that was barely heard over the static. “Don’t come near here…”
“Who is this?” asked Faith, sitting up now, eyes narrowed while she got out of bed and went to her window, looking out into the soft light of the late afternoon.
“Stay away…” Faith pulled her phone away from her ear when a loud roar was heard then the line went dead and she looked at her phone. She instantly hit her
‘send’ button twice but the operator let her know that the number was either disconnected or not available. “What the hell…”
“FAITH!” Faith twisted around as Willow barged into her room, holding onto her small cell phone. “I just-”
“Got a creepy phone call that ended with something that sounded like a lion?”
“Erm, uh… Yeah.”
“Huh… Looks like we’ve been found out.”
“Looks like…”
“I don’t know about you, but I don’t take kindly to threatening phone calls,” said Faith as she grabbed up ALL her bags.
“Me neither,” said Willow and as Faith walked out of her room she saw Willow floating her bags down the hall and with a wave of her hand, Faith’s joined hers all the way to the office. All the Slayers and Watchers in training were probably grabbing dinner, which was why the halls were so empty but as they entered the office belonging to Giles, both Faith and Willow stilled in their steps.
“What’re you doing here, D?” asked Faith, taking in Dawn who was sitting on luggage of her own.
“I’m coming with you,” said Dawn, chin rising. “I know all about it.”
“And how is that?” asked Willow.
“I was, uh, in the closet,” said Dawn. “Oh please let me come! I already know all about it and I’m great with research… Please!”
“Dawnie,” said Willow softly. “I don’t think you’ll be able to. I’m sorry.”
“But…But…” Dawn put on her resolve face. “We’ll see what Giles and the Ministry say about it.”
“Great…” muttered Faith. “Whatever, I’m not even going to fight her. Let Giles deal with it.”
As if on cue, Giles came into the office but before he could question Dawn’s presence there was a loud
‘POP’ and three figures were in the office. Reacting quickly, Faith leapt up on one, tackling him onto the floor and pinning him down, a long stick he'd been carrying scattering out of reach.
“Bloody hell!” he cursed as he face planted on the floor.
Before the other two could react, Willow had their sticks in her hands from a summoning spell she knew by heart and with her eyes glowing a soft white she had the two figures levitating in the air.
“Willow! Faith! Let them go,” yelled Giles.
“What the fuck for,” said Faith, still straddling the guy she tackled from behind, keeping him pinned to the floor.
“Because they’re Aurors!” Giles sighed deeply, taking off his glasses and rubbing them vigorously with a cloth. “Faith, Willow: meet Harry Potter, Kat Cherry, and Draco Malfoy…”
“Oh…” Willow dropped her spell, the man with the black hair and the woman with long brunette falling to the floor onto their asses. “Oops?”

Harry chuckled, steadying her and looking deeply into her eyes to show his mirth and slight concern.
"You get used to it. You're all right, then?"
"Yeah," she whispered, turning when hearing the cursing Faith.
"I'm NOT doing that again!"
"Don't be a baby," said Draco, brushing off his robes.
"Shut it Drake, before I shut it for you..."
