The Sign and the Guy

Two days later, Dawn walked into Professor Meyers’s class, where Jake (who was the T.A. for the class), Faith and Jackie met up with her.

“What do you want?” Dawn asked.

“To apologize,” Jackie answered. “You’re right. I don’t know what you’ve been through. I shouldn’t have spoken to you like that,” she continued.

“Thank you,” Dawn said. “But you’re right too. I do need to move on. It’s been a year since Xander died; and he would want me to be move on and be happy,” she told them.

“Of course he would,” Faith agreed having had her own chat with Sam.

The gang took their seats and Professor Meyer walked in. Professor Meyer went up to the front of the class and sat on the edge of his desk like he usually did. However, this time, he received a bit of a surprise.

“Here she comes just a walking down the street..,!” blared out of hidden speakers. As the professor jumped up and started looking for the source of the noise, the class started to giggle.

“I can’t believe someone would have the nerve to pull such a juvenile prank,” Jackie disapproved.

“Come on, it’s funny,” Faith disagreed thinking Sam would have loved it.“This reminds me of something Sam would have pulled,” Faith told the Jake who was sitting next to her. Jake held her hand laughing and bopping his head to the oldies song. “I know I would have liked this Sam.” Jake whispered to Faith squeezing her hand.

“Yeah, he’d like you too Jake. Let’s ditch this class and…”Jake cut her off with a quick kiss they got up and left Meyer’s class heading for early picnic lunch and skinny dipping at Pike’s Pond. Faith finally knew her Sam would be with her always in her ability to live life for the both of them.

Dawn’s eyes widened as Faith left and she could hear Xander’s voice…

“I’ll give you a sign,” Xander promised.

“A sign,” Dawn softly said with a grin. “Hey, who did this?” she asked.

Dean came in faded blue jeans, with a white shirt, black leather jacket, black boots and a diamond stud in his right ear turned around.

“That’d be me,” Dean confirmed.

“How’d you pull it off?” she wondered.

“Oh, it was simple. I snuck in here last night and rewired the audio from a couple of Meyer’s visual aids and put a speaker in his podium,” her closest friend answered.

“Well done,” Dawn approved, clapping.

“You like that, huh?” Dean asked.

“It’s a great prank,” Dawn stated.

“The two kissed and continued to talk about new beginning’s and fresh starts. They decided on dinner and dancing tonight; as Professor Meyer searched in vain for the source of the music.
