A/N: Response to Jinni’s 200 word odd couple challenge. And yes, it’s exactly 200 words long.

She’d come to Hogwarts to exhibit herself in the Care of Magical Creatures class – that’s right, the Slayer is a magical creature. She never expected to fall in love.


Maybe it was the way he looked at her, not the way a man looked at a woman – not at first anyway – but the way one looked at a dragon, with admiration and awe and a little fear.


When she got off the train, he was there to meet her. She looked at him with open appreciation. He seemed so big, and not just physically. She soon learned that his heart was the largest part of him.


This guy wasn’t like other guys. He respected, almost worshipped, her. He didn’t just want to explore her body, he wanted to explore her soul. Before she knew it, she was gone – truly, madly, deeply, head-over-heels in love.


She loved long evenings by the fire, twilight strolls in the Forbidden Forest and the sparkle in his eyes as he described the majestic splendour of the hippogriff herds as they migrated each year. Most of all, she loved the way he looked at her and the way he made her feel – important, intelligent, beautiful, loved.
