Calm Before The Storm

Ginny bolted upright in the bed and straight into his arms. It would be the least to say he was surprised. The girl had just been sleeping soundly and now she was wiggled about in his arms in nothing but a hospital night gown, sobbing and crying, "He got him! Tom got him!"
Connor wrapped his arms around her shoulders and pulled her against his chest. "Shh, Ginny, it's alright... it's okay, shh... "
The redhead knotted her fists into his blue dress-shirt and continued to cry. "He got him... oh gods, he got him... "
Connor felt his heart breaking at the younger girl's tone. He didn't like it when people he cared about hurt. Malfoy knew that, he'd broken the blonde's nose more times then was good for one person.
"Ginny, it's alright... I'm here... shhh.... "
Her small frame stiffened, as if she'd just realized she wasn't alone. Slowly, her gaze rose to meet his and she jumped out of his embrace and scrambled away and up to the metal headboard.
"C-Connor?" she stuttered, "Wha-What're you do-doing h-here?"
He looked at her, confused. "I thought I'd check on you and the party was boring me anyway." he said, "Are you okay? What were you dreaming about?"
"N-Nothing."
"I heard you and that was not nothing."
She bit down on her bottom lip. "I-I... I had a dream that Tom came back and he grabbed you and sliced your throat and you died." she said this all very fast and he couldn't help but smile slightly.
"Gin, it's okay. See -" he poked his arm "- I'm all here, one peice."
She gave a strangled cry. "No! You just don't understand! Whenever I have dreams like this it hurts my head and the things in them come true!"
"Virginia Weasley, I told you; I am not going anywhere. Not without your say so."
She looked adorable as she scooted closer to him and wrapped her arms around his waist. Connor tilted her chin upwards to where she looked right at him and did the only thing that felt right.
He pressed his lips on hers and kissed her.
