“We’re brothers?” Xander asked, regarding his alleged sibling.

“Half-brothers apparently,” Dumbledore told them.

“No!” Harry cried. “It can’t be true!”

“I’m afraid so, Harry,” the Headmaster of Hogwarts told his student gently. “James Potter spent much time abroad on missions for both the Order and the Muggle agency he worked for. During that time, I’m afraid he was not very faithful to your mother.”

“Which is why I’m here,” Xander added. “The spy guys who contacted me said that someone had it in for – I quote – “the Spawn of James Potter”. Although come to think of it, they used a different last name.”

“Different last name?” Harry asked, his mental conception about his father disintegrating in his mind.

“Your father used an alias while abroad, Harry,” Dumbledore said.

“I think he used Bond,” Xander added. “James Bond.”
