Author's Notes: This is one of those mushy things that always come to mind when you're tired.

Faith was not an ordinary girl in any respect. For one thing, she was an escaped convict, and for another, she didn't celebrate any holidays (her excuse being that holidays were invariably the days when an apocalypse happened, or demons attacked.) She didn't even celebrate her birthday. But the strangest thing about Faith was that she was a superhero.

But right now she was simply alone.

One of the many things Faith adored about Scotland was the wide open spaces. And the peace. After the closing of the Sunnydale Hellmouth and the awakening of the Potentials she needed some peace.

Faith finished climbing the hill and looked out of the mountains and valleys around her. Below, she could see a small town, with the silvery thread of a river winding its way through it. Everywhere a soft grey mist hung, though it would disperse by mid morning.


In an hour or so Faith's boyfriend, Oliver Wood, would come up to sit with her.

But for now, Faith closed her eyes, placed her palms flat in the damp grass, and concentrated on the healing of her wounds, both physical and spiritual. She was due in Cleveland in three weeks to help train the new Slayers, and she wanted to be in tip top condition.

As the sun rose and hit the peaks, Faith practiced her meditation, and the magick of the Earth Mother healed her troubled charge.
