Author’s Note: ‘A slip of the tongue’ 200 word drabble challenge. I wrote this a while ago and just never got around to posting it.

She couldn’t control her mouth. Every time she was near him she slipped up and said something embarrassing. It wasn’t pretty. He was laughing right now because she’d done it once again. When he and his friends had arrived to help them stop the latest apocalypse she’d been surprised to learn that there were schools for witches. She still thought Willow’s magic was cooler. All that wand waving was silly. And then she had to go and start liking him. He was mocking and arrogant and…cute.

“I amuse you don’t I?” she pouted, crossing her arms across her chest.

“Occasionally. Usually when you let something slip that you didn’t mean to.”

“Great, I’m glad that you find me so funny.” She stalked toward the door but was stopped when his hand caught her arm firmly. “What…?” She was immediately cut off when his mouth crashed down on hers in a bruising kiss. Quickly she wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer. Running her tongue over his bottom lip, he opened his mouth to her, their tongues twining and stroking for several minutes before they both separated to breathe.

“Now that is a proper slip of the tongue.”
